It was large enough to wash my King sized blankets! The problem started 5 months after purchasing. The wash cycle immediately completed before it even began. We changed the cycle type and it worked, but this problem was intermittent. It then started giving us an error code that there were too many suds and we needed to use HE detergent. However, we do use HE detergent and I only put in half of the cap, which is less that it states. We called Maytag service, and the technician came this morning. He said that the motor and gears are shot and blamed us for using too much detergent. We told him we use very little. We just received a text that the needed part won't arrive until August 5! This is ridiculous!

Washer Lasts Less Than 2 Years

Agitator started making noises about 1.5 years in (warranty no longer valid). By 10/2023 the water was not filling up either. Due to the cost of repair, had to buy a new washer. A washer should not last less than 2 years. My old washer lasted almost 10 years. I was very disappointed that upon calling Maytag, they didn't care about the issues nor offered any real help. Their repair technician couldn't even come out for 2 weeks.

About 6/15/22, a little over a month, it staryed making grinding plastic noises during the various/different cycles. This is happening in different wash cycles. Even with laundry door closed, the noise is unbearable and heard throughout the house. I called Whirlpool and a local authorized repair technician came out and said its very common in this model and after assessing the product, said it needs to be rebuilt inside. Almost $400 in parts and 4 hours of work. He added that there is a 50% chance the replacement parts will break again! I'd add video if this website allowed. I am trying to get Best Buy to allow it to be returned and purchase a different model. We shall see!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sorry but this machine must be defective since the agitator makes a wretched, loud, cacophonic grinding noise that reverberates through the wash room and throughout the hallway of my house.... This noise was present in the first test wash but the delivery person dropped it off in such a hurry since he was only contracted with Best Buy (not employed by them). TBH I wouldn't buy another large appliance from Best Buy again. Hoping I can get "Geek Squad" on the phone talking to a live person tomorrow since I can't seem to get anyone after 7 pm PST on the same night that they dropped my machine off at 5:45pm when indicating they would be coming between a 12:00pm-6:00pm time window..... Bunk.
