We went to a front loading washing machine from Whirlpool bc we kept hearing about how much better they were and bought into all the hype a few years ago. After only 5 years, there was so much mold trapped on the door and lining from the poor design of the front loaders and it finally gave out on us. We decided to go back to traditional top load type and are happy with this Maytag. I've learned with all major appliances that less is more. When these companies try to get super fancy with these wifi, app connected, TV model type of features, it just breaks down that much easier. Go with this old tried and tested brand and style of washer if you want to save yourself some headaches.

It replaced my 20-year-old Whirlpool. So far I have had no issues with this machine. I will say that when it changes cycles it is very loud. My laundry room is downstairs and I can hear it upstairs at the other end of the house.

It does it's job and cleans the laundry but it is quite loud. Wouldn't be too bad for someone that has a dedicated laundry room but it can be quite annoying for someone like myself that doesn't have a closed off room.

You can buy extremely loud hard to use. Did not like it all upgraded to the better one for 150 more and it was well worth it to upgrade to the better pay tag you cannot wash a king size comforter in this washer.

It works perfectly and even better than our old Maytag. The clothes come out cleaner, and there are so many different settings we are able to use. I love this washer!

Unbalanced washer tub

The first washer was tipped on its side to have the box removed upon arrival. I thought such was the reason for unbalanced tub. The second delivered washer is doing the same thing. Considering it’s a new product on the market, I’m guessing I’m a Guinea pig to product issues leading into future recalls.

Is the washer out of balance?
An unbalanced load causes noise, vibration, reduced spin speed, and clothes remaining wet.
Self-Correction: The washer tries to self-correct by refilling and gently rotating to redistribute the load. If it fails, an error message appears.
Manual Correction: If a significant imbalance is detected (loud noises, excessive shaking, wet clothes), you may need to redistribute the load manually.

Is the washer properly loaded?
Place clothing in loose heaps evenly around the agitator to prevent vibration.
Never overload: Clothes should be loosely added and only as high as the top row of holes in the wash basket.
Water Level: Do not add extra water. The water level is designed for the impeller and clothes to engage; too much water causes floating and reduces cleaning action.
Are heavy or large items being washed?
Check Care Label: Ensure the item is machine washable in a top-load washer.
Distribution: Distribute water-absorbent items (quilts, blankets) in a doughnut shape around the impeller.
Load Size: Do not wash a single absorbent article (e.g., one rug); wash two or three to balance the load.
Grouping: Wash similar items together. Ensure the top of the impeller is visible.
Is the washer level?
The washer must be level, with all four feet in firm contact with the floor.
Check: Rock the washer diagonally. If it rocks, it needs to be leveled.
