I am really hoping the warranty is going to cover it.

The first time I turned it on I heard a loud clanging noise and thought something must have broken. It then proceeded to make even more Extremely loud banging noises until it started to Begin actually washing. This was even more disturbing to me because I chose this washer because the manufacturer claimed in their description of this product that it was QUIET!!! Also, it does not signal when the wash cycle is done. THEN it makes no noise.

In theory, I thought it was a genius idea - no more clothes being twisted around the agitator, more room for washing quilts and bulky items and all those things ARE TRUE. But now - I wish I had done my research. I had no idea that non-agitator machines do not clean as well as a machine with an agitator, and I can now say that I know this to be the absolute truth. Before, I would pretreat a stain (with dawn) and throw it in the laundry, and even a week later after washing the stain would be gone. That is not the case with this machine. NO STAINS come out of anything. Now I am having to scrub stains out of the clothing prior to washing the clothes. And non-agitator machines are not good for cleaning denim. Who doesn’t wear denim? While I still love Maytag and I’m sure this Maytag is one of their top of the line non-agitator machines - I cannot recommend this machine because non-agitator machines DO NOT get your clothes clean. If the energy efficiencies are more important to you than the cleanliness of your clothes, they you will love this non-agitator machine because Maytag makes great products.

Not as good as I had hoped

But Best Buy was wonderful about quickly exchanging for another machine that I really do like. I found the Maytag noisy and not very efficient. Maybe there was something wrong with this particular because I have had many Maytag products in the past.

I spent $1700 on the set and after 5 visits from delivery and repair men I am facing $2100 in lost wages bringing my grand total on this washer and dryer set to $3,800. Save your money and buy something else.
