This washer works well. My only two complaints are the level of noise it makes while running and I wish it had a timer to show how much time is left on a cycle. Other than that, it cleans well and is very large capacity.

We have had this washer for over a year now and have no complaints at all really. It washes well and is easy to use. The control panel is very basic, you hit one button per setting to toggle through the options, but it makes it reliable and easy to use which I wanted. The lid and other moving parts feed sturdy, the build quality has held up pretty well.

I like the size of the tub and the ability to put large loads in it. I also like the fact that the wash and spin cycles adjust the various items to balance the load. The machine is noisier than i would like but clothes look brighter than ever.

I love the large capacity and it works great when it’s a regular load of clothes however when I put pillows or blankets they are too heavy and machine won’t spin. Also it doesn’t have an auto shut off so it kept trying and failing to spin all night.

A little noisier than last Maytag. Seems you've regressed on the tech & more basic with less options. No digital timer or end of cycle notification either? Please redesign these upgrades in future models....

I love the appearance, the see through lid, the size of the tub and the ease of operation, however, I'm confused with all of the great reviews. My King size comforter fits inside with no problem, which is what I wanted, but the machine gets out of balance and starts thumping during the spin cycle. I have to pause the machine and even out the load. When I wash sheets, they get all twisted up and the machine vibrates during the spin cycle. Even when I wash clothes on a delicate cycle, they get tangled and the machine shakes when it spins. This is very frustrating. For the amount of money I paid and considering the good reviews, I believed I was getting a really good machine! My last washer was a heavier front load, I think I'll invest in a front load next time.

So far we are impressed with our Maytag washer. The only thing I don’t like so much is how loud it is. Other than that, it cleans well and looks sharp.

Louder than the LG it's replacing but the wife likes it. The direct drive motor went out on the LG and I got fed up with having to deal with their warrantee department and was advised that Maytag has a much more user friendly warrantee department. Hopefully I'll never find out.

    Maytag 4.8cu ft Washer

Washer replaced a 30yr old Maytag washer we decided to replace along with the Maytag dryer. Like the new washer, controls are easy enough to figure out. Our old one was buttons and knobs so we will wait to see how the keypad lasts over time. Washer is a little noisier than expected as it spins back and forth to settle the load and during spin cycle. This one does not have the center agitator feature which they say is supposed to be less damaging to the clothes. It also does allow for blankets and large load of sheets to fit and not tangle. Happy with the purchase and function overall.

    Constant Frustration! Total Lemon!

As of the writing of this review this model has 79 "one or two" star reviews out of 248. I will be the 80th! Just DON'T!!!! Let me count the ways I hate this washer: 1. "Deep fill" does absolutely nothing. I bought a top loading washer for more water and to wash larger items. But I could never get it to fill more than about 8-10" (see photo for scum line). On regular settings with "deep fill" clothing would not even get fully wet. Service said to always keep it on the "bulky items" setting to get sufficient water but it was still not enough to get clothes clean. 2. The auto sense features are enough to enrage anyone and can not be overridden! The washer - not the user- decides how much water to use (almost none), how long to run and when to drain. It doesn't seem like the cycle selection does anything. 3. Once a cycle is started it will run its course - even if the unit is unplugged to reset it. Drain and spin takes the same length of time as the wash cycles. 4. It is very ill advisable to add clothes once started because of the "auto sensing". Once clothes are wet the washer will only spin and drain and will not return to the regular wash cycle. 5. It is constantly off balance and anything large like sheets or blankets end up in a wet balled up pile in the center of the machine. 6. There is no count down timer. It does at it pleases and you have no idea when it will be over! 7. Purchased 12/2020 for use 50% of the year. It began making a horrible loud screeching in 1/2023 and smelled like melting rubber. A belt had gone bad, probably from it being off kilter so much of the time. We paid for a repair that didn't work or address any of the other issues. 8. AND a positive! It is LEAVING today!!! As a final note, after doing some research I am buying a front loading washer. In fairness to the manufacturer it turns out that they are increasingly limited in the amount of water washers can use. No top loading washer will actually fill anywhere near the top of the drum. With a front loading washer the vertical spinning will help get clothes wet. They really should stop selling these! They are deceptive, don't work and wind up in the landfill after only a few years. So much for saving the planet!

Super deep capacity. Can wash king comforter with ease. Has the low impeller instead of the pole agitator so you have lots of room. Senses how much laundry is in washer and only puts needed amount of water. Saves water big time! Super quiet. Super fast spin cycle. Saves on drying time. Love the see through glass lid. Has detergent and fabric softener trays.

Easy to use washing machine. Clothing, sheets and towels are washed and cleaned equally. The machine is the perfect size for large loads. Only downside is the noise while washer is in use. It is tolerable but louder than the previous machine we had.

It is much louder than the nine year old Maytag washer it replaced. It also shakes an awful lot when it spins. The water connections also shake a lot & are loud. Never had these issues with any other washer. Have to have a 2" gap between the dryer & washer so the washer does hit the dryer.
