Buy the side loading washer, save yourself the headache

This machine is significantly louder than any Maytag I've ever owned. It cleans well, but the cycles run much longer than expected and the impeller motor just grinds and grinds during the wash cycle. I highly recommend listening to it online via a search before purchasing and decide if you can handle that noise. Maytag is NOT what it used to be. The next model up might be quieter but it comes with too many bells and whistles that we don't need (and that also make added noise). Pick your poison, because Maytag does not appear to be the top of the line that it used to be, after this experience. This will be my last Maytag.

Really love this washer. I can fit king size comforters in it (I have several). It is noisier than my previous Maytag washer but still not too loud. I do miss the cycle finished signal and digital timer showing how much time is left in the cycle. Otherwise I am very happy with my purchase!!

This is a really great washing machine! We had a Maytag bravos x that lasted 10 years and when it finally went down (unfortunately) we went with this washer after a long time looking! It’s definitely the one worth it! It has a very large drum, larger than the one we used to have! I kept thinking we needed the larger capacity drum, but at 4.8 cu. ft, it has all the room for the large loads we have plus more! The see through lid is a really cool design, you can actually watch it dispensing the detergent onto all the clothes! And the clothes come out really clean! I’m a mechanic on a dairy so that says something! My wife just wishes there were more options on the control panel, but all in all we are very pleased with our purchase! One drawback I’ve found is that the latch is made from plastic on the lid, and after reading reviews of people breaking them, if you just don’t let the lid slam down you should be fine! If nothing else leave a towel that is kinda rumpled up on the edge of the drum between the lid so that it’s not accidentally knocked down?! Aside from that I don’t have any mechanical or physical issues with this product!

Excellent design. Lid opens quickly after pausing, has settings such as for for bulky items like pillows or gentle settings for delicates. Very water efficient and clothes come out clean and fresh. I’m very happy it doesn’t have an agitator.

Do not have this washer anymore but when I did have it it was a great washer the only reason I got a new one is I upgraded

Worst washer ive ever owned. Failed within 2 years and they make this washer virtually irreparable without spending more than the purchase price. Will not be buying another product from any of thier brands ever again.

I've never wrote a review before today but this experience prompted me to do so. Growing up in and with family from the Minnesota-Iowa border I had always been partial to Maytag, but my experience with this machine and the company have seen to the end of that. It worked ok, nothing great or bad; worked fine for my spouse and I and our 2.5 kids; clothes not overly clean, machine a bit loud but it worked ...until it didn't, less than 18 months after purchase then it stopped agitating, called a technician and was told we had a "catastrophic failure", repairs more than the value of the machine, ostensibly totaled. Machine had a shorter life than the Matthew LeBlanc Friends spin-off "Joey". Called Maytag they offered to send their tech out to evaluate the machine (at cost to me) and if truly totaled would offer a one time 10-15% sale on a replacement and encouraged to get an extended warranty... While my machine no longer agitates, Maytag still does, they have agitated me enough to never purchase a product from them again and write a product review for the first time.

worst washer I have ever owned. computer board failed after 2 years. a month later spin stopped working. terrible!

Replaced a 5 year old whirlpool. We shall see where this one is after as many years. So far, so good. It's a washer, and the clothes come out cleaner than they went in - what more do you want...

This washer doesn't wash well at all. I feel like it just sloshes the dirty water around. And it's two years later and the washer isn't functioning.

Had to get two different washing machines, same model within a year because they kept breaking

Less than 3 years old. I had to replace the balancing rods and now it goes straight from sensing to done. It will not actually fill up and wash. Unfortunately I did not buy the warranty. I guess lesson learned. I miss my old washer that lasted well over 10 years.

CRAP! Broke right before its year anniversary thank goodness -still under warranty. However, you have to call Maytag, they send out a local repair person (2 week wait), decide what parts (locking lid latch and the Motor) and now waiting for parts (up to 4 weeks then get on the books 2 weeks for repair). So now get to spend $40/week to take laundry to the laundromat with no end in site. Should have spent the $300 I will spend and gone with a Bosch. Maytag (Whirlpool now) are not what they sued to be. Buy a Bosch

This washing machine is the worst thing I have ever bought, do not buy this, since I bought it, it is always broken or lacquered, this washing machine should be taken off the market, I hope that one day they return my money,

The working parts of this machine are made of half plastic and half metal ! Per repairman. Which means after rubbing together the plastic will were out. My machine didn't last a month ! The parts are on backorder and it has already been a month waiting. The month that it worked it was ok a little loud

Do not buy after 6 months it went out control panel went out i had a lg for years and never had this problem buy a different brand

I just got the washer delivered and while we ran it through a test run, the faulty design of the lid was apparent. The lid doesn't seal (it's just a piece of plastic sitting on the metal body) so the steam escapes through the gaps and fogged up the entire main controller area, forming condensation over it. It wasn't even in the hot water setting, just warm. Maytag customer service line isn't available over the weekend so I have to wait until Monday to figure out the solution. I will probably be returning it. I've had the previous maytag washer for 20+ years and it's just disappointing that the newer model doesn't live upto its previous standards.
