As other reviewers have mentioned, we chose this washer because it was the best of the worst reviewed on the Best Buy website (as well as on the big home improvement store websites). If you're looking for a new washing machine, I feel your pain once you start reading through all the 1 star reviews as we did. It's a nightmare trying to make a selection. Our experience so far... The delivery was absolutely flawless & worth every penny for the removal of our old washer and installation of the new one. The delivery person balanced it, demonstrated it was in working condition & was VERY thorough answering questions. It's tough to understand why any of the 1 star reviewers had so many delivery problems. As for the machine itself, this washer is light years ahead of our previous brand name washer (from a now defunct department store). It's quiet & all our clothes get clean and feel great after drying - we have the matching Maytag dryer as well. Once again, it's mind boggling how so many 1 star reviewers have so many immediate issues with this washer. I remember reading many reviews about it not using enough water. That complete BS. I watched the fill on the first few loads. The machine uses PLENTY of water. I tried the deep fill option... again, with this option selected, there's MORE THAN ENOUGH water. An entire cycle still takes less than an hour with deep fill. Often times, people leave reviews just to complain. I only leave them if I have a great experience or a REALLY bad experience. This machine is fine. Stop reading the 1 star reviews & buy it without hesitation.

Extremely loud washer

When I purchased this model, I thought I would enjoy it equally. To the contrary. If you want to hear a helicopter landing in your utility room, this is your washer. So loud. I had a tech out to see what the problem is. He said it was within the guidelines. I cannot believe Maytag would produce such a loud machine. Shame on them!!!

We were told this machine shifted to a "direct drive motor". Could that be the reason? Mr Moore

Lots of good features. A bit concerned about the detergent drawer which seems a bit flimsy and will likely be the first thing to break on this washer. Because of this, I'm using pods exclusively because they can be placed directly into the tub.

Washer is okay. Doesn’t work great on comforters

It’s a bit loud and you can’t put a huge comforter inside unless positioned correctly between cycles to where comforter isn’t soaked at the end of spin cycle still .
