Clunking sound - not recommended

I made a service call for which they ordered replacement parts. After waiting a few weeks the parts were replaced. I immediately started a load and found the same clunking noise as if nothing was replaced. I do not recommend this washer do to the magnetic drive which is known to be noisy. The washer sounds broke and it is less than a year old.

Posted .We regret the concerns you are having with your Maytag® Washer. If your clothes are not clean, please see the condensed troubleshooting tips below:
1. Initial Setup & Water Supply
New Installation: Run an empty "Quick Wash" cycle with HE detergent before the first load to clean the drum and prime the dispenser.
Water Temperature: Use hot or warm washes if safe for the fabrics (check care labels). Note that warm/hot water may be cooler than in previous washers.
Hose Connection: Verify the hot water inlet hose is connected to the hot supply and the cold to the cold supply. Reversed hoses can cause warm rinses. Ensure both household faucets are completely turned on.
2. Cycle and Settings
Cycle Selection: Choosing the correct cycle is crucial, as each is an optimized combination of agitation, spin speed, and water temperature tailored for fabric and soil levels.
Temperature: Select the warmest wash water safe for your fabric.
Soil Level (Wash Time): Adjust the soil level for your load (Light to Extra Heavy). Use the Extra Power button for heavily soiled items. Lighter settings help reduce tangling/wrinkling.
Spin Speed: Faster spin speeds shorten dry times but may increase wrinkling.
3. Detergent and Additives
Detergent: Use only HE or High-Efficiency detergent and always measure it based on soil level and load size. Using too much or non-HE detergent causes excessive suds, poor cleaning, and can lead to a reduced spin speed (very wet loads). Maytag recommends Swash® laundry detergent.
Fabric Softener: Measure, dilute, and add it to the rinse portion of a cycle only to avoid staining.
Liquid Chlorine Bleach: Always measure and follow directions; undiluted bleach will damage fabric.
4. Loading and Routine
Loading: Load items in loose heaps evenly around the washplate. The load must move freely for proper cleaning; you may need to reduce your load size.
Sorting: Separate darks from lights and whites to prevent dye transfer.
Clean Washer Cycle: Run this cycle approximately once per month (using affresh® Washer cleaner) to recalibrate the control, reset water levels, and remove build-up.

In the span of 3 years of owning it, it broke 3 times always the same issues. Top load door latch always broke which then caused the washer to not properly sense a load of clothes.

Skeptical at first

(74 years old). After highlighting the instructions and reading often, I have had success with this purchase. I must say that I have mastered its operation and give it a thumb's up.

This washer is awesome. It connects with my smart phone and let me know when the cycle is complete! Clothes smell fresh and clean! Absolutely love this washer!

It has lots of setting options and is energy efficient. The touch screen is nice but I was use to having to push buttons and it took some getting used to. Very quit machine and the chime alert isn't annoying.

We preferred to go back to the traditional top load style and greatly benefit from the large 5.2 cu ft of space with a family of 5. Maytag is a reputable brand and one of the few if not only manufacturer with a power agitator washer option.

The only other washer that works as good was the old Kenmore when Sears was around. I love this washer. I look at the reviews and I personally don't understand the negative reviews since my purchase.

It has a deep fill but it doesn’t do a thing. It will not fill any more water than in its normal wash. The water barely covers the clothes. I feel like you have to put it on second since to make sure the clothes are washed. What is this saving! It takes 53 minutes to wash a load of clothes. The old washers filled more wate and took 20 minutes!

It only has a medium and high spin cycle. That is not acceptable for almost thousand dollars. Get the one without the agitator and maximize your loads.

Lots of options to handle various types of clothes from heavy duty to delicate cycles. Cleans extremely well and is efficient both from amount of water used and electricity. Would definitely buy again!
