We bought this set to replace our samungs we had for 7 years. our high end Samsung washer drum broke due to metal fatigue that is common occurrence after 5 to seven years of use. (See YouTube warnings) This May Tag models comes with a 10 year warrantee on the drum assembly and does not have the manufacture defect as the Samsung model. This Maytag set are easy to operate very Efficient and very Quiet, We are hoping this set will last longer than 10 years. They were a little less in cost than the Samsungs. Large dryer. Dries clothes fast. The only downside is that it is huge, so make sure you have the space for it in your laundry room. Also, I hate how on both this appliance and the matching washer, I have to hold down the start button for 3 full seconds before it starts. Might be a safety thing, maybe I can read the manual to change it, but I always stop holding the button a second too short and find out that the load didn't start.

Dryer has been working well, dries quickly and efficiently. My only gripe is with starting a cycle. You power the dryer on and thrn press and holf the start button while it counts down 3 seconds. There are no beeps whe ln you press and hold and you have to hold the button for it to start. On my old dryer, you just pressed start and it started. Its just annoying to have to press and hold for so long before it starts and there is no feedback beep when you press it either. Half the time I think I didn't actually hit the button and end up releasing beforw the count down finished and have to do it again. Its just weird. Id have bought a different dryer if I knew it was like this. Otherwise its good, but the start button is obnoxious.

    Maytag in Name only

It's a Maytag in name, but not in quality. I replaced a 20-year-old Maytag with this model and could immediately notice the difference in build quality. There are a few functionality quirks that are less desirable than my old dryer: 1) You have to turn the power on every time you use it. This makes no sense. Even my 20-year-old dryer was smart enough to know that if I opened the door, I'm probably about to do a load of laundry, so it would power on automatically. 2) You have to hold the 'Start' button for 3 seconds in order to start the cycle. This is annoying. Don't hold me hostage, just start the cycle! 3) The first few loads came out damp, even though I had it set to the 'Dryest' setting. I'm still not sure why. Maybe there's a 'learning' period, or maybe I just had some setting set wrong. After the first few loads, everything has come out dry as expected. 4) The end-cycle chime is way too soft, even at its highest setting. If I have the laundry room door closed, I can't hear the chime in the very next room. So, I often end up with clothes sitting in the dryer for 10-30 minutes because I don't realize that the cycle is finished. This was not a problem on my old dryer. But I guess this is an excuse to use the 'Steam' function to release the wrinkles. On the upside, it is much larger than my old dryer. I think this will be beneficial when doing larger loads or drying larger items (blankets, comforters, etc). However, my first load was fairly large and it came out damp after the first cycle, so I'm not sure how well I'll be able to utilize the larger capacity without running longer cycle times or running it twice. Overall, I give this dryer an 'Average' score. There are some quirks about it that makes you wonder if the designers actually ever used it to do a load of laundry in a normal house. Also, I don't expect it to last half as long as my previous Maytag... which was still running great after 20 years, but I needed a new washer so I decided to replace the whole set. The new one just doesn't have the standard Maytag build quality of yesteryear. You can definitely tell the difference since Whirlpool bought them out.

I bought the set and love both. As for the drier I have had several over the years, many of which did not last past three years. Granted did not have this obviously that long yet and why I likely purchased the extended warranty for that peace of mind, but of all my dryers the Maytag avocado green I have no idea how old was the only one still worked when sadly gave it away for a new one. Why I purchased Maytag. On this dryer, first I will say the only washer and dryer set I had that fit comfortably, cleaned, and dried a Queen size comforter. Clothes come out perfect. Not over dried and stiff with wrinkles, not under dried and damp, but just dry and pliable to fold. The steam function fantastic as well as the wrinkle free setting; I have not had to break out an iron once! I was told one of a few can use dryer sheets without damaging sensitive parts, which is a bonus. I also love the fact the lint filter is inside in the front. Easy to reach, easy to clean, does not leave dryer dust all over the top of the machine, etc.

I am very happy with this dryer. It is American made, cost competitive and exceptionally easy to operate. The controls include a large, easy to read and understand dial along with temperature, spin cycle and steam settings. Having coped with new equipment that is completely computer setting driven and impossible to understand without a degree in computer technology, this machine is wonderful. It also has a cycle that periodically turns the clothes after the cycle is over and before I get to it, so no more wrinkled clothes.

Our previous machines went out. Quickly went on line and within 2 days Best Buy delivered and set up the Dryer and Washer. We completed all aspects of the transaction on BestBuy.com. Quick, simple and efficient. The features take a moment to learn as they work a bit different than previous model we owned. I have used the steam function for taking out the wrinkle of dress shirts. Works pretty good. Certainly no steam press but ready to wear with no iron required. Downside you can only put in more than 3 shirts. When I go beyond that not all articles are wrinkle fee. Downside- the buzzer tone is low. We have it set on highest volume level and it is hard to hear even in the laundry room. Now that is ridiculous because you multitask when doing laundry and a loud buzzer is a key feature of this type of equipment.

This dryer is simpler than our last model, which is a Whirlpool, but works about the same. The one thing I would note that could be improved is the way it starts a cycle. You cannot just turn it on and go. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it to start after a countdown on the press and hold start. I walked away a few times in the beginning and came back to a dryer that had not done anything. That will probably happen again. Other than starting it, I have no complaints. It does dry my clothes well.

The Maytag dryer is fair. What you need to know: No light in the dryer. You need to press the "on" button for 3 seconds to start the machine. This may annoy you. If the dryer is stacked, you need to be 6 foot tall to see the nobs. I am 5' 7' and just barely reach the buttons. If the machine is not stacked, you will not be able to open up the dryer door if a laundry basket is in front of the machine. Every setting has to be on the highest temperature for clothes to dry.

Overall the dryer is very good. It has a large capacity and dries well. I like the sanitize feature for athletic clothes that tend to hold on to smell and the wrinkle release function does a great job. Overall I would recommend the product. The one negative is the process to turn the dryer on- you must hold the button in and if the pressure changes or you do not hold it long enough it does not start...kind of a PIA.
