The drum light will come on intermittently during a cycle so I will have to turn it off manually. The clothes wont get dry on one cycle all the time so I will have to go through another cycle. Some times it will leave water spots on clothes with steam refresh so I have to dry them on a different cycle. as for reliability, I have had it 5 mos, so we will see. I bought the dryer because I have a Maytag Atlantis washer i've had for 14 yrs and still going strong.

Still figuring things out.

When we used the "steam" function -- which was the feature that caused us to purchase this model -- the interior of the dryer drum filled with water(!) and the entire laundry room floor was flooded. It was diagnosed over the phone as a defective steam valve, which needs replacing, but is backordered for who knows how long. Probably backordered becuase this part is failing in lots of Maytag steam dryers. The additional Geek Squad Protection I purchased is useless -- I was told I have to deal with Maytag becuase the manufacturer warranty is still in effect. Almost three months after delivery, the dryer still hasnt been repaired! Complete fail by Maytag and a big disappointment with Best Buy for not stepping in to help.
