Maytag: Worst Dryer

Broken down within 10 months of ownership. Under Warranty is a curse ... trying to get someone to come fix and now have to wait weeks for replacement part. Stay away from Maytag.

It is however a very annoying dryer. It senses your clothes and flat refuses to dry them completely unless you use the sanitize cycle. EVERY other cycle leaves clothes damp every single time. Maybe it's supposed to help with wrinkles or static or something, I have no idea. I just absolutely hate it. I have to run every "finished" load through quick dry after it's supposedly done; unless I used sanitize. If you do use sanitize, you might shrink items that shouldn't be dried at such high heat. There's just no middle ground with this stupid thing. Also, the lint trap is poorly designed so that lint falls down into the dryer. They recommend having it professionally cleaned out from time to time. I had a kenmore for 15 years and never had either of these issues. So long to the days of well made long lasting appliances. Hello technology, apps, and mediocre appliances. Why have all the fancy tech if you can't even get a load of laundry dried properly. Get it together Maytag. You're supposed to be the best.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We had this dryer delivered to our house and less than 30 min. after it was taken out of the box I immediately discovered the light inside did not work. I had to phone the Maytag repair center (long wait) to report it. They sent a repair tech to check it out and he had to order a new "panel" for the light. It's 2 weeks now and no light on a brand new dryer!! Also, while it does dry clothes, most of the settings dry with a very low heat, leaving clothes still wet after 25 min.
