Went for the brand but where's the quality gain.

Several reviewers commented on the door and I understand why now. The sound is like popping open a tin can with a cheap metal clasp to hold it closed. Also my 6 week old dryer is masking some drum or motor noise that is uneven. Makes me concerned that it might not make that 10 Year motor warranty mark.

i dont like the door opens from the side

Maytag Gas Dryer

We have purchased Maytag appliances before in our other houses. And deciding to purchase again was a no-brainer. The dryer works very well and the clothes come out dried NOT damp. Highly recommend this style dryer.

The instruction book packet also looked like it was open before, as the pages looked like they had been in a wet area, unlike the brand new instruction booklet that came with the matching washer. It's just disappointing to pay new price when I may have gotten a discount for this unit at a scratch and dent. The door is very hard to close.
