You need the extra height so you don`t have to bend down all the time to load and unload the machines. Saves a lot of wear and tear on your back. The pedestals have a built-in drawer for storage space for all of your washing detergents. softeners. etc.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very solid, pedestal - just make sure to secure properly to washer or dryer with the screws and then use an actual level to set the feet, then lock the feet into place. please note not to put heavy items in the drawer, it should be ok to hold cleaning pods and fabric softener sheets

The overall height may be a bit much for those who are vertically challenged as the detergent and softener drawer of the washer is a bit high. Would definitely buy against as the ergonomics are much better when loading and unloading.
