    Even though product says is compatible with Apple/Mac computers; it was not with my MacBook Pro. I have an old 2009 MacBook Pro so the product does work with my computer.

    NOT A GOOD PRODUCT AT ALL. DO NOT BUY THIS! Upon installing this on my laptop, I began receiving messages from India, of all places, requesting more information and selling more services. Are you kidding me?!

      I'm sorry you have had this experience, but this is not McAfee doing this. We are a US-based company out of San Jose CA. We do not push messages to your system and we certainly don't ask for more money. This subscription lasts for 1 year and there are no other services we can offer a consumer other than our virtual private network, which comes with other products we sell. It sounds like a fraudulent source has contacted you. I would say it is more important than ever to have antivirus software on your system, even if you choose one of our competitors. We will warn you if you were to click on a link that we can see if fraudulent, but we cannot guarantee 100% protection from things like this. However, if you sign up for auto-renewal, we do offer a Virus Removal Service for free. You can contact our support team at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911 24/7 and they can help clean your system for you. You can cancel auto-renew at any time if you don't want to stay signed up once they clean your system. To change your auto-renew settings, go into Settings, then Auto-renew Settings, then change the slider to the appropriate position.     Wouldn’t recommend! Wanted 1 year anti virus. You cannot use unless you enter a credit card number to automatically renew. I didn’t have a credit card and Best Buy wouldn’t return. It’s still in the desk drawer. Junk

      I know it isn't terribly clear, but a credit card is NOT required. You are asked to sign up for auto-renewal, and that does require a credit card, but that step is optional and can be skipped by clicking on the X in the upper right corner. Installation will proceed and you will just need to buy a new subscription in a year. One of our major competitors does require a credit card, but we do not. Please try going through the installation again and you should be pleased. If you do run into any other issues, you can contact our support team at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911.     Unable to load product on my laptop. Called customer service & it took 3 hours to load onto my desktop. Will not recommend this product.

    The agent was told that I have Vista, and the program he sold me over the phone is not compatible, he tried to help in installing it didn't work, I just wasted the money on this purchase that i cannot use, and would like a refund. The anti virus program I had for years from best buy, reached the end of it's life (Trend) it said, and there was a newer version, but he wouldn't install that one. It's been easy over the years when best buy renewed the program each year, but now I sit without any protection on my computer.

      I'm sorry you had this experience. We list the compatible operating systems on the box, but it sounds like you took the advice of the salesperson you spoke to, so likely never saw the box. We only validate on Windows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 with service pack 1 installed. Operating systems prior to that are no longer supported by Microsoft, meaning they don't fix security holes any more, so we cannot recommend continuing to use them. You should be able to get a refund from Best Buy if you explain it was sold as a solution for Vista when we clearly are not compatible with Vista. Unfortunately, I have no way to offer one for you.     This would be a good product but 4 month before it expires it put pop-ups on your screen for renewal every few days that you can't exit out of.

      Our normal schedule for sending out reminders is 45 days, 30 days, 15 days and 1 day before expiration. If you started receiving messages prior to those dates, those may be fraudulent. We also don't message you that frequently, as the schedule shows. You may want to contact our support team to see if there is something else going on causing these to happen.     Protection will NOT work!

    I have tried to get the Virus protection to work, no go! I have gone thru this numerous times. Said to call the McAfee service and they won't help, even hung up on me a few times. I received a new computer and that won't do any thing. Tried again to do it on my older computer and STILL a NO go. I wanted to use it virus protection for Pics and genealogy only. Guess I wasted a lot of money on JUNK. Seems like the majority of the I get from Best Buy now days are junk. I will not be shopping Best Buy any more!

      Hi - I'm very sorry you are having this experience. I'm not sure what procedure you have gone through to install, so I'll describe the expected process and see if that matches what you tried. It also doesn't make sense that McAfee service would hang up on you. Are you sure you contacted the right number/website? There are a lot of fraudulent sites out there claiming to be us. To contact our service department, go to service.mcafee.com or call 866-622-3911. To install, you first need an activation code, which you should have received in the box you purchased. Take that to https://www.mcafee.com/activate and enter the code. You will be asked to setup an account with McAfee and then the installation should begin. Again, make sure you are going to that exact URL and not just searching for McAfee activation in the search bar. If you run into any issues, our service department can and will help you. They are available 24/7 and are always FREE. I also would like to point out that Best Buy support would not be able to help with installation and sending you to McAfee support is what we ask them to do. I hope you don't hold them responsible for this situation. If you followed the above procedures and contacted the correct service team, I am truly sorry for that. If you respond again verifying that is the case, I will escalate it to that team. McAfeeBizDevelopment

    I went out to the geek squad they said not to put it in my iPhone because Verizon had her own protection plan it was no more than a search engine at that point

    On the outside of the Box it said it would work on the system I have on my computer which it did not. Wasted a lot of my time with Tech Support and still didn't work had to return it

      What did you try and install it onto? We validate on WIndows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7 (if all updates have been made). We also validate on Mac OS X, Android and iOS operating systems. Also, how did you contact our support? There are many fraudulent sites out there claiming to be us, so I want to make sure you went to the right place.
