This was one of my first games that I bought for my PS5. Luckily I only paid $12 for it but that’s an absolute steal for this game. I never played the original but I’ve heard of it and always wanted to try it out. The graphics look amazing, the gameplay is solid, puzzles are interesting and story is entertaining! That being said it is slightly dated that there are no checkpoints and pretty much anything that touches you, hurts you. However, I consider that a challenge and it just adds to the old school charm. If you are looking for an old school challenge and just an overall funny/entertaining game, Medievil won’t disappoint!

Visually this game was awesome it’s how you imagined it looked when you first played it. The story was also charming and was fun to play though. All tho the controls are dated and this was really my only major issue with it. There is a option to change it to updated controls but it doesn’t really help much. Also the camera is wonky on certain places although you can rotate usually anywhere but when you can’t it’s annoying. But all in all worth it if you want to relive it

Medievil isn't a 100% 1:1 Remake of the original PS1 game. But it's very close to that. It has very small changes that overall contains the original game intact and adds quality of life features to the game. Thought not every change I like of course. Some enemy looks that changed that I didn't like and the feeling of some weapons changes I also didn't like, but that is minor. Overall. If you played PS1 original and liked it, then you would love this Remake. However if you are new to Medievil, you should still get the game. It is a very beautiful game from colors, design and my god the music is breath taking. It has tons of different kind of enemies, bosses, puzzles, some difficulty, very unique 20+ levels, and more. I am certain even newcommers would love this game.

I will admit that I never played the original. Its camera style really reminded me of the PS1 games. Graphically it looks great. Gameplay is really good to at times clunky, my only issue is the camera which in the end its not all to bad. I recommend trying out.

While I'm a big fan of remasters I feel with this release the developers did to their best ability to update the graphics while leaving all the kinks of the original untouched. While this may sound like a good thing, however Medievil always had control issues and camera issues both of which I feel a remaster should of fixed however the problems that lie with the original unfortunately crop up here as well. The whole game just has a sloppy feel to it which is unfortunate. It sure does look fantastic thou and it's still the classic gameplay of the original. Recommended to fans only

This game was fun and challenging to play I really enjoyed it. It was like being a kid again playing this on the first PlayStation

I never had the chance to play the original game on the PS1. I only played a demo of it. Now that this is here, I have another chance to experience the full game, but in a new way. So far, I remember the bit I played in the demo and that alone was enough to make me want to get it back then. Now, I’m happy to have the full game to experience finally. All of this that I had missed out on over the years is hard to believe. The game is great. It’s simple to understand, but can still be a fun challenge.

This game is a really good remake and fun to play especially around Halloween.

Its been forever since i picked up MedEvil on the PS. So having this game upgraded for ps4 visuals has been exciting. While we have had hd platformers/adventure redone like Spyro, this one still has enough Differences and quirky story and adventure to make it stand out on its own. Im a fan of dark (but cute) nightmare before christmas type of things so this game is right up my alley.

I remember playing this when I was a kid. Super fun and very hard as well. Controls are kind of tricky.

Medievil may not have been a particularly groundbreaking game when it initially released, but it is one that I remember fondly because it is one of the first games I got for my PlayStation 1 many years ago. Medievil is a rather simplistic hack and slash game separated into short levels sometimes with a boss fight at the end of each one. The game is rendered in 4K (if you’re playing on PS4 Pro) and it’s looks stunning. The colors is rich and vibrant. The framerate is very smooth and music and sound design are great. The only issue I’ve had is with the camera which is slow to turn and sometimes gets stuck in the environment which can lead to you taking damage from enemies you may not be able to see. However the levels are rather short and even if you die, you won’t feel like you lost too much progress. This is definitely the best way to experience this game and I highly recommend any PlayStation fans to pick this up.

MediEvil returns. A minor cult hit on PS1 returns in HD with glorious new graphics on PS4. Still as funny, still as wonky with the controls (which IMO isn't good), but a worthwhile play if you want an old school, but updated version of an older classic. Give it a shot if you can pick it up for $20 or less. Recommended.

An excellent remake of the classic Medievil from the original PlayStation. Everything is detailed exactly as it was, from the layout to all the monsters. Still challenging as before! If you’re interested in playing this classic, highly recommend getting it for the memories.

This game is lots of fun and just like the original. If you want a challenge then this games for you. It’s a good game for teens and young adults. It runs great on my PS5 and looks awsome!

Loving these game. Nearly halfway through and I’ve loved every second. The graphics are great, although the camera is a bit wonky at times. But it wouldn’t be a true throwback without those added bits of frustration.

a nice update visually to the original ps1 game, even though the controls did not get an update as they should have, controls are very stiff but if your a fan of the original you will like this visual remake .

Let me start this by saying I am so happy that even with the beautiful modern update that they did to this game graphics wise that they didn't go out of their way to modernize the gameplay. I played the original in anticipation for this HD release and I am happy to say that the gameplay is the same. Modern gamers are spoiled. enjoy a game for what it is Snowflakes. if you need your handheld then play something else. I have been gaming since 1988 and while I love the advancements I still love the old school. This game nails the best of both worlds. It was a masterpiece when it came out and this version only confirms that. Great job on the upgrade of an an amazing game.

Great blast from the past in an awesome remaster game plays greats and it’s always nice going back to the roots when games were actually tough.

What a great way to relive the old PS1 classic. I played this a bunch back in the day and this is a nice remaster especially at clearance price.

It's a remake of a great ps1 game so yeah, it's still a great game. Probably the best way to play MediEvil. Hope they remake to second one too.
