Mega Man Legacy 1+2 Collections - A Must Have!

I wish I grew up with the Mega Man series because these classic games are so much fun to play! My first exposure to playing Mega Man games was several years later and when I bought Mega Man 2 on Wii and later on Mega Man 7 and Mega Man X on Wii U. I enjoyed the games so much that I wanted to play more of them! When it was announced that the Mega Man Legacy 1+2 Collections were coming to the Nintendo Switch, I just had to buy them! Besides playing the classic Mega Man games, Capcom has created these fun challenges that you could do while re-playing some of the games. Examples like going through the stage within a time limit. Also, if you have the Smash Bros. 4 Mega Man amiibo and the Golden Mega Man amiibo, you can unlock new challenge modes in the game. Also, Capcom has added Save states and a rewind feature to each Mega Man game. If you mess up, you can rewind and retry a certain action again. Want to save at a certain place? You can add a save state to save your progress. I didn't experience any technical issues with the games. I've also provided a couple of photos showing off the case of the Legacy collections. Plus, it comes with a free cleaning cloth that has Mega Man and friends celebrating Mega Man's 30th Anniversary which is pretty neat. **The Half-Physical Half-Digital Release Controversy** There is a minor complaint that I have about the packaging of Mega Man Legacy 1+2 collections. The way Capcom handle the physical copies of the Legacy collections was an odd choice. I bought the physical copy of Legacy 1+2 because I prefer to buy physical games if possible. Capcom had Legacy 1 on a physical cartridge, while Legacy 2 was on a digital download code. I mean, what's the point of having a physical copy if you're only gonna have 1 physical while the other one's digital download? **Final Thoughts** Is getting the Mega Man Legacy 1+2 Collections worth playing and worth the price? I would say yes because you get all Mega Man games bundled together.

I'm a LONG TIME classic Mega Man & X fan but I will NOT be supporting physical DAY ONE because how capcom handled Mega Man classic series physical release for Nintendo switch as a REMINDER collection ONE 1-6 is on the game card but collection TWO 7-10 you have to download that. Which is about 5 GB Capcom could have put all 10 games on a slightly bigger sized physical card but instead decided to release physical version CHEAPEST way possible NES games are TINY in memory size. the biggest file would be Mega Man 8 Not to mention many YEARS FROM NOW when collection is long OUT OF PRINT and nintendo eshop is shut down. Switch owners won't able to experience Mega Man legacy collection 2 because with USED games the download code will be redeemed already. Plus downloads have a CERTAIN TIME LIMIT and once that number of months or year has passed then the code voucher is WORTHLESS in my opinion this is what capcom should have done release both collections separately for $20 each Seeing this make me concerned for upcoming X collection "switch version" this is my PREDICTION X-X4 on a card and X5-X8 downloadable. If that happens to be the case which is most likely then I will just buy X set digitally

    Avoid Physically and Digitally

This could have been on one cartridge. I could care less about the challenge modes and music players.I am sure many people would have been fine omitting those features to cram the game on a smaller cartridge. We also don't need the cloths. They could also make the artwork single sided. I am sure removing said things could have helped bring production costs down a bit to allow stuff to fit or allow for a bigger cart. If you buy digitally, you are giving them more of a reason to allow these "physical" copies. They want you to buy digitally. I suggest getting the collection on the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, or the original cartridges. Hold on to your Wii for 9 and 10. I didn't buy Resident Evil, LA, WWE, and NBA. I bought the Japanese Climax Edition of Bayonetta. As of now, Mega Man 11 and the Street Fighter Collection are safe. Those I will be buying. **** However, you can buy Mega Man X Collection 2 physically from Japan.

I grew up with Megaman X as my go to series (having for some reason skipped the megaman series). I still remember a lot of the levels, and tricks needed to get through them in one piece. If you think this will be an easy breeze, think again. This was a time when games made you work for them. Now mind you this is easier then megaman, the X series added some help there, but its still hard. There is a new added mode to make it easier for people just starting out, but I haven't tried it to see HOW much easier it makes it. Runs smooth on switch in dock and handheld with no problems. Only complaint I could have, make sure you have internet and some memory space if you want the full game. The 'second half' of the game is a download code which is annoying.

I'm 40 years old. If you remember these games when they first came out. You will not be disappointed. The only issue that i have with this release is not of the game itself. It's the way that it was released and executed by splitting up MM 1-6 and MM 7-10. Also, if you don't have at least 5GB on your system. You won't get the second half of the game since it's only available as a digital code. I like buying physical games still and this was a disappointment. Game play itself is good and the transitions plus difficulties are still there with some cool bonus stuff. The time challenges are worth it because it tests the true die hard fans with extra challenges that even the veteran player will find challenging. It's worth double or triple dipping to purchase.

This was a beautiful piece that really rewards fans of the genre and the series. After getting a chance to play it, I have fallen in love with Megaman and the platforming genre all over again. I love the rewind feature where you can erase your mistakes in an instant using the L trigger on the joy con, essentially allowing you to play through the levels quickly. It was a nice surprise to find what was inside the case. Not only is there some physical swag, but a nice little boost to my Nintendo gold coins as well (cartridge + download = 115 gold coins). All in all, couldn't be happier and is one of the best purchases for my Switch I've made thus far. Also picking up the Megaman amiibo to find out what the title menu will reward me with. Can't wait to find that out. Pick this up if you at all like platformers.

10 rad main line Classic MegaMan games for you to have at home or on the go! You can’t go wrong with this Classic MegaMan collection. Already own these 2 collections on the PS4 & the 1st one released on the 3DS yet, this Switch one is my go to by far! This also has MegaMan amiibo support like the 3DS for extra challenges. The extra content & features of these collections are phenomenal! Absolutely amazing for any Classic series MegaMan fan! Seriously can not wait for the MegaMan X Legacy Collections due out this July & MegaMan 11 this Winter! Capcom has been striking back lately & hitting it out of the park.

The first six Mega Man games included on the first collection are all pretty dang good, and the "rewind" feature included on them (you can simply hit the L button to reverse time and redo a tricky jump or tough boss) as well as the ability to save anywhere lessen the crushing difficulty substantially and make them way more fun! The second collection is missing the rewind and save features and is much more of a mixed bag in terms of game quality. It's also a download code, which is frustrating. Still, the strength of the first collection makes it worth owning! You do also get a Mega Man cleaning cloth for your Switch screen, which is a nice bonus!

As a kid, Mega Man 2 was my favorite game. This collection of the first 10 Mega Man games is really good to go back and play those wonderful Mega Man games I loved, and a bunch I never got a chance to play. Includes 10 Mega Man games, but note that half the games are digital download with a code included. (Yeah, it's a bummer). This game is great for people looking for a trip down memory lane, for a younger generation to get a chance to play some classics, and for parents to introduce their kids to some quality games with minimal controller inputs.

I wish this was two game carts or an all-on-one cart...the mixed "cartridge and code" method just feels clunky to me. Also, there's no getting around the fact that this is two separate games stapled together in one collection; the UIs between the two are distractingly different. Notably absent is the Super Famicom version of Mega Man & Bass That said..this is the best way to play Mega Mans 1-10. If you have nostalgia for these games, or maybe missed them entirely and want to pick them up for the first time, this is a great collection to do so with.

The mega man collection for the switch was something I had been looking forward to since I had got my switch but once I got it, I was a little disappointed. Only the first installment comes on the cartridge while a download is required for the second collection. This seems like an oversight by Capcom considering the file size for both collections is relatively small and the internal storage on the switch is also somewhat small. Otherwise a cool collection that I’m happy to own.

Good games with plenty of extras (sketches and photos of old promotional material). The difficulty of the original game is mitigated by a rewind feature, a turbo button (allows megaman to shoot 3 pellets in a row continuous fire) and mid game save system. It also has filters if you want it to look like an old CRT TV. One thing of note is the 2-player feature it notes I only noticed in megaman 7 in its one on one combat mode but also haven't gotten around to the challenge modes yet.

The Mega Man Legacy collection is definitely a fun time if you enjoy the classic Mega Man games or if you wanted to play them for the first time in order to prepare for the release of Mega Man 11. The only problem I have with this product is that I thought both "Mega Man Legacy Collection 1" and "Mega Man Legacy Collection 2" would be on the cartridge, but when I opened the case I discovered a download code for the second collection, so I had to buy a mini SD Card in order to have more space for my Switch.

It is so great to have the classic Mega Man titles on the Swtich! The minor gripe I have with this is that Legacy Collection 2 (which is games 7-10) are an internet download and not included on the cart. I really wish Capcom wasn't so cheap. Making the cart with just a few more GB of storage would have made all ten games fit and then no internet download would be required at all. So in the end: great games, frustrating "physical" product due to so many being just downloads.

Great classic games and wonderful set, only problem is there is only one cart for the first half and a download code for the rest of the games. I'd be much happier with two carts or one larger cart with both sets of the collection. Really a shame Capcom went so cheap on this, all the games could have easily fit on a single cart and I wouldn't have to waste space on my system, plus I could share it with friends and be able to resell it if I wanted to.

So, the games are exactly as they were "back in the day".... there's just one small issue I take with them.... the fist volume has a frame rate drop issue, but this was also present in the first volume when it came out forveer ago on PS2/Gamecube. It's an emulation issue, and it looks like for that volume they never updated the emulation, they just ported it to Switch. No big deal, it's easily worked through, just interesting they never updated the emulation on a new release....

I grew up playing many of these games on the original NES so being able to have them all (and more) in one collection is great. I also love that there is a rewind feature to help with difficult stages/bosses in case you are having trouble or don't have the time to invest in mastering a level. My only gripe is that they didn't fit the whole collection on the cartridge and make you download Collection 2 to to the Switch, which doesn't have a lot of memory to begin with.

In this collection you get access to the entire original series from Mega Man 1 all the way up to 10 and as you would expect those games all play excellently. The only issue is that you receive a download code for the second Legacy Collection and while I feel like most people know about this by now it really is rather silly and defeats the purpose of buying this physically. If you can look past that though these games are classics for a reason, and well worth the price.

Great job with the port of the original games. Seems like the framerate is consistent, the gameplay feels how it used to, just a very well-done re-release. My only complaint is it feels like the "Challenge" mode didn't really add anything to it, more just made me feel like I had to go fast through a bunch of mini challenges. The X Collection did a much better job, in my opinion, of really challenging me in a different way. Worth buying, though.

The bummer: only Megaman 1-6 is included on the cartridge--7-10 are included as a download code. Why? The world may never know. Aside from that, this collection is amazing. All ten games together with a load of extra challenges and art/music galleries and such. The emulation is spot-on so the games all run great on Switch. The series, from most awesome to least awesome, goes 3>2>6>9>4>10>5>1>8>7.
