As my son was playing with them, he wanted to be able to build them and then play with them. They have to constantly be taken apart and put back together to go in and out of the balls. It's much more of a decorative collector item than an actual kid's toy, unless your kid likes the actual taking apart and putting back together aspect of Mega Block. Then it'll be right up their alley.

Step son likes Pokemon and I seen it while waiting to check out so i got it for him. He liked it and had them put together in under 30 min so maybe your kid will too!
