It was bought for someone in the hospital and going to rehab. They had trauma to their brain and its limited there motor skills. They can use it for video calls and record their rehab sessions. It has been great especially for those that cant "visit". I would suggest it for anybody that has family in a hospital,rehab, nursing home...

So I was originally against this because I am not a portal or facebook fan. However we got this for my mother in law to talk to keep up with friends and family and I have to admit.. it's not that bad. Granted we usually it mainly for video chat and calls. Picture and audio are great especially as it includes a tracking feature to keep you in frame. The fact that it can go anywhere and has decent battery life it what truly sets this apart. The biggest downside is the fact that the connection is not magnetic. So you have to constantly verify you placed it on the charger correctly or you'll be disappointed when you try to use it next time. Price could be a little better as well. Just make sure it has the services you need and want. Since a lot of the friends and family use FB messenger this was an easier choice

Easy to set up. Works great if you have Facebook messenger or WhatsApp. Video and call quality are really good and the camera tracking is perfect. Connecting Alexa with our Ring doorbell is a plus.

We are really happy this new toys. I do really enjoyed, when calling my family abroad it’s fantastic I don have hold the phone in my hands anymore or stop what I’m doing to talk to them. 4 Music is awesome sound is not bad I think sound really good. I like the thing I can use 2 assistance, Portal and Alexa both work real good. You can setup alarms, remainders and manage smart home devices. At night I just say Hey Portal , screen off. And boom screen goes complete black on do not disturb you at all the whole night. Got to say so much about this litter guy but I prefer you discover it. One thing we love , it’s portable you take it with anywhere you want.

I bought one for my mom so she could talk to my sister who lives in another state. She loves it and uses it everyday. She said it makes her feel much closer to my sister.

Great. I love it. I love the building speaker. However, the screen break and now i am devasted.

However, it proved rather confusing since it's fairly limited as a device. Unlike a more robust device (albeit at higher price points), this is really only useful for making calls. Even trying to set it up for viewing doorbell video was unnecessarily complicated. Facebook has not parlayed its ease-of-use to their consumer products. Mostly I just can't figure out why I even bought this in the first place. A phone will do just the same although on a smaller screen, but you can take it almost anywhere. This device is limited to your home WiFi (or I suppose you could hotspot it with your phone, but what's the point?). It's an okay device, but ultimately feels pointless. It doesn't offer enough features to make it useful in the home, and video calls can be made fairly easily from most smartphones these days. Maybe for elderly people who still don't want to take up a smartphone, although those people are also unlikely to be using Facebook to make these video calls.

My wife is enjoying the portability and easy use of this device. She has the earlier design, but this is portable to which she could walk around the house while using if needed.

I love this thing. My family is always amazed at how the camera tracks me when i move around in the kitchen. Honestly beats holding a phone.

Not much different from the earlier version. However, it is now more portable. My wife uses it to stay in touch with family (better than just making a phone call). Now that it's portable, she can take it around the house as she goes about her day. She's happy with it so I'm happy. Four stars only because it’s still a bit pricey and not much different from earlier version.

This is so much fun and very convenient too. Bought one for our Granddaughter to take to college and keep in touch.

I got it for my mother to help her communicate with family members around the world via Messenger. Its bigger than her iPhone so it's easier to see family members during video chats. Its video and audio are great! There are also many apps on the unit. My mom plays her favorite music stations on the Portal Go.

Gave this to my mother. Fantastic camera. Enabled messenger video calls for entire family.

Good if you need portability. Not sure how long these will stay functional.

Bought this for my mother in law because her tablet was not working right. She can easily use the Portal. She is 85 and is not good with new gadgets. She loves using it! She does not get confused by how it works. The screen size is a good size. Easy to operate. My daughter can see her whole face and not just her forehead now.

I've had this product a few years now Alexa just stopped working on it for some reason but it works everywhere else in my house.

Meta Portal is the perfect way I can stay in contact with my family who stays in a different state than me. The camera will follow your movement around if you choose to walk around while doing a video chat

I like the portability and how big the screen is. Also like being able to watch movies on this effortlessly like on a tablet.

Very easy to use for my 80 year old mother to stay in touch with her kids and grandkids Did feel it was overpriced though!
