I recently purchased four of these from Best Buy and a very good price. After easy installation, it worked just as advert to ours. I am a very cautious reviewer, after looking for any defects or problems, sadly I could not find any. Portal TV is the way to go for great video messaging

OUTSTANDING, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I love using it to talk to my family in Texas. The camera works great, moves with you and as I have grandkids there, this camera gets a workout. Ease of use is right there.

Easy setup, I would like more features and streaming options in the future. Would also like a remote feature to block video and audio. No way to reach the top of a wall mounted big screen tv. For video calls with family works great, good quality.

The portal TV is great. Easy to set up, easy to call people, and great picture quality. The camera adjusts to where people are and moves with you so you can set it up and you are good to go. Had to buy one for all the family to stay connected.

Great for connecting with your friends and family. Awesome quality and easy install. The only negative thing I can say is that the post office delayed my delivery and ruined my gift for Christmas . But at the end of the day that’s not Best Buy’s fault!

This is more of a preliminary review. I just bought this and was told to buy an HDMI (my TV) to Mini HDMI (the Portal) cable. The Portal actually requires a standard HDMI connection. I will go buy a male-male standard HDMI cable now. I will report back on the quality after I get it up and running.

I was a little bit apprehensive to buy a camera for my Family Room, but at these times when all my family is staying at home we decided our kids needed some easy way to communicate with their grands so we bought this Portal. Easy installing, easy setup and robust construction. We love the fact that the whole family fits in one shot and we can all easily watch our loved ones at once in our TV screen. Storytelling and effects are great add-ups that make each call pretty fun. Sound quality is good and its easy to operate. The fact that it also works with WhatsApp contacts is great to communicate with contacts not connected to Facebook. The interface still needs a little bit of tweaking but overall we are enjoying it.

I purchased this for my elderly father. He uses Messenger to video chat with his family. Many of them are in Mexico so they also use Whatsapp. This device allows him to sit on his sofa without having to hold a phone up to his face. The camera zooms in and out to accommodate when someone walks into the room. No one has mentioned issues with hearing him even though the device is about 10 feet away from him. It works for both Messenger and Whatsapp. You have to be watching television on the device in order to receive calls. So if you are using the TV apps to watch TV for example, instead of the apps on this device, you will not get incoming calls.

We got this to see our Children and Grandchildren who live out of state. It’s wonderful to see them on our big screen TV. VERY easy to install and use. Need a short HDMI cable to use which must be purchased separately.

I bought 4 of these, we had issues with 3 remote controls. Which makes the system unusable.

Nice addition to living room TV. I am able to video chat to friends and family on what's app or face book. You don't need an amazon stick, you can also use it as a TV box and watch Amazon Prime and Netflix on it.

This was discontinued by Facebook, so if you can get one, you must. It does Facebook Messenger and Zoom. The mic is perfect and can do auto tracking.

We bought the big portal for our daughter and her husband since they are moving out of state. We bought this one for our house to use with our TV. Easy to connect and use. Great video and audio. Definitely would recommend.

Set up was very easy, and the camera and microphone work very well. However, even though it is supposedly Alexa certified, there were several problems with both Etekcity and WeMo outlets. Alexa could not find them and Amazon help desk could not help make the connections. I have an Amazon echo in the same room, and was hoping to remove it since when Alexa is activated on setup with the Portal TV, the Echo would connect to a smart plug, but the portal would always announce that it could not find a device. Very annoying. I finally just reset the portal to default and reset up the portal without enabling Alexa during setup. A nice added feature would be voice training since I have a very hoarse and soft voice.

This is one of my best electronic ever! I love how I can make a video call without using my phone. The camera follow wherever you go. I have been using it for 3years now. BEST CHOICE SO FAR!

despite critics misgivings about Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook I bought six of desktop Portals one year ago for my family that lives across the United States. I was not disappointed but I was yearning for a bigger screen experience and I bought the portal TV just as things are shutting down due to covid-19. The portal TV has worked out better than I expected and as long as you don't mind your relatives or friends seeing your messy home then it is a perfect answer for keeping in touch while we social distance. Pros: A picture as big as your TV so you sit on your couch from across the room. Cons: not that many apps but now Facebook has WhatsApp to allow for a greater number of people to contact. Recommended when back in stock.

Shocks me they killed such a great product. It works very well for zoom calls, yoga classes and other online things you wanna do on the large screen TV.

Bought this for my wife as she was getting awfully homesick for the children. Since getting this my wife has become a different person, it is almost like being there for her, us being in Florida and the kids in Ohio. The Portal has been a game changer for part of the Covid Blues that was bringing my wife DOWN! The portal works seamlessly with Alexa, and she can call any of the family Facebook or any of them that have a smart phone, which they all do. She has connected with all the kids at once, in different places at the same time, and everyone can see and join in with everyone else. This is really a great piece of Tech to add to any Big Screen TV. Thanks Portal and Best Buy!

I thought this would be a great way to stay in touch with family. This was great. Easy to set up. The picture is great and you call multiple people. Best part is that the camera keeps everyone in frame.

Easy to set up, interfaces easily with my TV. The instructions say to use HDMI-1, but I was able to use it in any port. picture quality is very good, depending on your network connection.
