In addition to doubling the battery capacity it provides a counter weight to reduce fatigue when wearing the headset for extended sessions. Grab it on sale if you can. Pretty easy to install and still fits in the carrying case. Will be interested in seeing how the strap holds up with extended use.

This one is a replacement from a previous one. I love the way it contours to my head. I recommend you get geek squad protection.

The extra battery life allows you extra fun especially when watching viyin VR. My kids love it and never put it down. The ironic thing is that I bought it for myself. May have to purchase a new set for myself.
