Amazing clarity, early adopter device
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quest pro is definitely an early adopter item. The hardware inside isnt powerful enough to run most apps at full resolution. For PCVR however it is wonderful, although youll have to mess with the debug tool to get the most out of it. My biggest issues are no DisplayPort (which wouldve easily made it one of the best all round headsets out there) slight glare when looking at high contrast areas, and the lack of a comfort top strap, as distributing the weight across my entire head made it much more comfortable. The lenses are very nearly edge to edge clarity, probbly 98% and it looks great. Controllers track well with a well lit environment with objects to track, and it actually fits my slightly wider than average ipd of 72. Im keeping it, definitely an upgrade to reverb g2 and quest 2. To those that don’t want to drop a grand- wait for the quest 3. It probably wont have self tracked controllers but it is rumored to have the same lenses.

Good design but not for the initial 1500
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was built well but I wished it could be folded or detached from the headband for easier travel. After the initial excitement wore off it didn't feel as big of an improvement for the launch price. Had the headset been in the $800 dollar range then the improvements to me would've been worth it but not for $1500. The new ringless controllers impressed me the most with the speed and accuracy of the tracking without ever banging into each other or headset while gaming. Many of the other features like the eye tracking and improved resolution weren't being utilized fully in the games and apps in the first couple months after the launch. The $999 price now is tempting but the Quest 3 is only a few months away.

Great VR Headset for Gamers & Glasses Wearers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All glasses wearers rejoice! Finally a COMFORTABLE VR headset you can wear WITH your glasses on. It gives plenty of wiggle room to adjust your glasses without that feeling of having them pushed up against your nose and face tightly. The headset is weighed on the front and back for a balanced feel and more comfort with a very sleek design. Everything is easily adjustable to your liking. The pro controllers provide a true next level gaming experience and a major upgrade when compared to the controllers the meta quest 2 use. The haptic feedback adds to the feeling of immersion and provides a more realistic experience, comfortable to hold even for long periods of time, and battery life is long lasting. Audio is crisp and clear, volume gets more than loud enough but if you want to experience more bass I would recommend wearing a headset/headphones. The new facial recognition feature is absolutely awesome. I was able to make my avatar and the Meta Quest Pro tracked my eye movement and facial expressions perfectly. I hope to see tongue rendering in the future for more laughs. When exploring Horizon Worlds it adds so much more to the social experience and interactions to show your real facial expressions when having conversations virtually. The color passthrough is grainy and could use some work. I noticed overexposure in areas where lamps and windows were at, colors were pretty spot on but faded overall. Still, it's an awesome feature to have that allows you to see what's going on around you and some apps/games support it for a mixed reality experience. Gaming is the primary reason I wanted this VR headset, Every app and game loads quickly and looks great. One downside is the headset can die pretty quickly but by turning off eye tracking and facial recognition it extends it a good bit. Overall, I definitely recommend the Meta Quest Pro, even with its high price tag. I'm looking forward to all the things Meta brings to expand on its platform.

Disappointed
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely disappointed in this headset. The visuals were clearer, however the headset was extremely uncomfortable and not as adjustable as the Oculus Quest 2 headsets. Also, the battery is terrible. Even without the eye and face tracking on, it didn’t last that long. I’m really hoping they can lower the price when the quest 3 is released as well as fix the comfort of the headset. I had really high hopes at this price point but it didn’t deliver. I’ll be returning the headset and waiting for the Quest 3. The controllers were nice though. But 3 cameras on each controller? Didn’t really see a difference in tracking or anything.

Fun games, improved comfort but falls short...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the initial unboxing, it's been a fun experience though it's had some things along the way that make it fall short. Meta did a great job designing the initial setup so that it's easy to get familiar with the headset, it's controls, and tools to help refine the fit right out of the box in a matter of minutes to get the most optimal experience. Right away, you'll notice as I did that the overall comfort of the headset is MUCH better than any prior version, and the controllers feel different while at the same time feeling so much more natural to hold and work with. They also do work all around you including behind you which is pretty cool and not something the older version controls were able to do. The screens are improved with optics that are MUCH noticeably improved, but the resolution is about the same as prior versions of the Oculus from my own testing which could be in part the content hasn't improved with it. Aside to the games and how the controllers work which is down right cool there's not a ton outside of the augmented reality that's changed. As for AR and gaming, wow, it's fun and sure adds a whole new dimension to gaming and productivity. That said, this brings me to the first of three things I say this headset falls short on. First, the AR, while cool, does lack in clarity and resolution I was hoping to see out of this headset .You certainly cannot read/see text on things in the real environment with augmented reality as the resolution is that bad. I noticed it first when I had the TV on and thought the image just didn't look that good then tried to look at a tablet screen with text and it's pretty obvious the detail/resolution is just not there. There's also some noticeable lag and the overlay of the controls on the AR just looks plain bad like it's truly a first gen thing that's not quite perfected yet. For games it's good and does work for that and in fact I had a great deal of fun playing games with it but with it's lacking resolution I'm not sure how useful it'd be in a productivity situation like if you were sitting at your desk and using the virtual monitors and had to look at a paper or your tablet/phone. You'll end up just taking the headset off to look at it. For gaming, this VR headset is truly amazing and fun to play with in the AR mode. It adds a whole new dimension of play that you didn't have before and despite it's short comings it works excellent for gaming. Second, is the audio, while much improved with deeper bass and highly immersive audio leads to the second issue. While it could just as easily be my individual headset (which I am working with Meta to fix) the speakers buzz with the bass and did so from the moment of unboxing through the setup, essentially making them sound like a super cheap pair of headphones. This was extremely disappointing for such a high end VR headset and even if not an issue for all headsets it could be a sign of what listening at high volume may do to them over the long run too once you're out of warranty. Third is the displays and optics. Which the optics are improved and provide a very high level of customization for comfort and optimal optics the displays didn't seem all that much different in resolution from my original Oculus headset which was another disappointment. That by itself though didn't impact my thoughts on this review because the optics are far superior and gone are the days of the out of focus zones or "headaches" that the first generation VR headsets had because of poor optics and that is a hugely welcomed change. This then brings up the other issue, where after playing with it for 20-30 minutes horizontal static lines started appearing at the top of the display screens like as though the headset was getting too hot. After letting it set it seemed to stop doing it but nevertheless is yet another issue I had that I'm very disappointed with for such a high-end VR headset. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with the Quest Pro because of the quality issues and the lack of content and games that I was hoping might be available like on the console/PC VR. While you can connect this headset to a PC with a wireless adapter to have that experience, it's another accessory you have to get to have that experience which I can't weigh an opinion on but the console for gaming seems to be the way to go until Meta expands the library of content. Apps and games and either tries to tune the experience for more of a gaming experience or a productivity experience in which case there are better options out there as I didn't see anything in terms of apps that would allow you to use this in more of a professional sense which is another disappointment where AR and Lidar (like some phones/tablets have) technology could go a long ways toward making this headset what it should have been. Where it does make up some ground is on the charging station that's included. It does charge the headset and controllers all at the same time while keeping it together/organized - a huge plus. You can plug the headset in while using it like if you were watching a movie or using the VR desk/monitors with your laptop. Battery life is pretty good in my experience but for as big as this headset was overall I was hoping for more that way or maybe an included supplemental battery pack with a cord that you can plug in to the headset to extend overall battery life. If you're looking for a nice comfortable gaming headset, this headset is okay and is a good introduction to the "Metaverse" but I would be on the fence with recommending it over the other ones and it would depend on the use case. I'd probably stick with the other Quest 2 headset as the experience once paired with the new controllers will be very similar minus the AR if you want to sacrifice a little comfort and improvement to the optics (the adjustability in particular).

Metas best VR headset yet!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I have used VR many times in the past, I have never previously owned a VR headset. Currently there are so many models of VR on the market and they include everything from something you put your phone inside of, to self-contained systems, to VR headsets that require a highly capable PC to run. Meta has been in the VR market for quite some time and up until now has been focused on lower priced consumer products. The Meta quest pro is their first step into the professional and more work focused market. When you unbox the Meta quest pro you will find a few different things in the box. First is the headset itself, the two controllers, a charging dock, a lens cover, stylus tips for the controls and a few other things. I was very impressed that Meta included a charging brick in the box. Many devices now a days do not include the charging brick and only have a USB cable. Setting up the devices took a little bit of time but it was a very simple process and the devices walked you through each step. I believe Meta put a lot of effort into making this headset comfortable. Many VR headset after a few hours are no longer comfortable and can even make some people sick. This is not the case with the quest pro. I love how light it is and it only sits on the back and forehead. There is no strap going over the top which can put a little more pressure on your forehead but in my testing, I personally found this more comfortable. Also, these are light eight meaning that when they are on your head, they do not feel like it. Most VR headset block out your peripheral vision. Although it is possible to add on a piece that blocks it, I preferred to have my peripheral vision not blocked. This gives you a higher sense of awareness around you. Also, you do not feel as Closter phobic. Because of the design you can even where glasses with the headset on. Although I found that I was able to adjust the lenses enough that I did not need my glasses. Battery life on these is about 1-2 hours of continuous play time. Although this number might seem relatively low, I do not think it matters. It is good to take a break after playing that long anyway and the charging is relatively fast. If you do not want to stop playing to charge them you can easily plug them in with the chord provided which is plenty long. They also come with a piece to route the cable out of your way and it is a 90-degree cable which makes it easier to use them while charging. The quest pro also has the capability of AR which will use the cameras to allow you to put lay artificial objects over what is actually in front of you. I found the video quality was fairly great. These also have full face tracking. In games such as Horizon worlds it allows your facial emotions and expressions to be seen on your avatar by people around you in the game. In games like horizon world or workspaces it allows you to have real interactions with other real people and it feels much more immersive. I only found two quirky things that hopefully can be worked out with future updates. The first one is that in Horizon worlds from time to time I could not make a thumbs up with my right hand. It worked a few times but for the most part it would not work. It is not the end of the world but kind of weird. The other is that I tried to play the poker game and it did not work that well. First, I could not move which way I was looking and so instead of it being in front of me I had to turn to the side and there was stuff in the way. Then somehow the poker table was almost near the floor and I was not able to pick up my cards easily without bending all the way to the floor. More than likely this is human error on my part and I just need to dive into the settings. However, it was not blatantly obvious how to make the necessary changes. If you are someone how is interested in VR I would definitely look into this system. It might not be the cheapest system on the market. With the features it offers and ability to target the workforce I believe it is much more competitive with even pricier systems. One of the best things is that everything is built in and it is easy to travel with or carry in a bag. Meaning it can be used anywhere. With the advanced features of this system over other Meta systems, this is more capable than every before. If you are using it for work or to interact with others in any way, I believe the facial tracking is a great feature.

VR that will help me stay active and productive!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start by saying that I have never used any kind of virtual reality headset in the past, and as a gamer, I have stayed away from them because I assumed one could get too dizzy or the quality of the gaming experience would not be as good as my computer monitor or gaming TV. Using the Meta Quest Pro for about 5 days, I have been honestly surprised but in a good way. I understand that Meta has designed this new technology to attract companies in using this technology for work and productivity however, I don’t work for a company that uses this kind of technology. That said, my friend who is an architect did share with me why he’s planning on buying one because he uses the previous model with his team and even some clients to show them the design progress. Apparently, this technology allows you to do virtual walkthroughs of the floor plans, and of that sounds awesome but the company I work for does not use this kind of technology. Nevertheless, before using this headset for gaming and virtual workouts (the things I plan on doing the most), I decided to try the Immersed app to try out how this headset can help with productivity. Overall, the app interface was confusing at first and I struggled to map out my keyboard to align perfectly in the augmented reality, but once I got that figured out, I was pleasantly surprised with this Meta Quest Pro. Being next to a window didn’t matter, I was could immediately see my computer plus other windows to use in my productivity. I found this to be super cool, and I even shared with my girlfriend who immediately said, “this would be cool to use for writing a school paper!”, and it was in that moment that I realized that if she even thought this could help with productivity, this new tech was definitely stepping in the right direction! Now how do I see myself using this technology? Personally, at first, I felt a bit embarrassed to want to give this virtual reality a try because I consider myself an outdoor person who plays soccer 2-3 times per week and occasionally hikes 14ers. I thought having a virtual reality headset was not for me, but in just the first few tries my mind was humbled and I saw there was some good with this technology. The battery doesn’t last more than 2 hours but honestly this is a good thing for me because I don’t plan on using this 24/7 nor do I want this to replace my true outdoor activity. I downloaded a workout app which has the feel of a video game where there are objects being thrown out that you must duck or punch, and both my girlfriend and I tried this, and we both agreed that this is a good alternative workout when we don’t have the time for the gym, or the weather does not allow. We were both laughing because we couldn’t believe that we were sweating by doing a virtual workout, and we tracked on our watches, and we were burning calories just as if we were doing something outside. PRETTY COOL! The second way I see myself using this is with my gaming set up. The games that can be downloaded to the Meta Quest Pro are okay, but if you pair this up with your gaming PC the experience is seriously way better. Just download the Oculus software on your computer and you can link it to the Meta Quest Pro. Finally, usually at night I watch soccer highlights or watch late night comedy, and this YouTube VR experience is freaking awesome. You can make the screen as big as you want. It honestly feels like you are in a movie theatre. I was not expecting to use this to watch videos, but I will probably do this in my downtime. As someone who is completely new to virtual reality and having no experience with other headsets, I am enjoying this each time I put it on and still have more things to learn from it. I big feature on this headset that I love is this mixed reality concept where I am in an assigned space that I give myself to watch videos, workout or do some productivity, and as soon as I step away from this area, I can see the real world around. I can even use my phone and read the text messages I receive (it’s a little hard to but it can be done). Apparently, this is new with virtual reality headsets, and I am glad this one has it because it’s a great feature that is needed. It really allows you to feel like you can be virtual but also in real life, and as someone who is not really into replacing my real-life adventures with virtual ones, I like this. I don’t think virtual reality will ever replace our real reality, but having it blend from time to time can be fun and exciting. Here is a quick breakdown of my review: Built Quality 5/5 – this product does not feel cheap at all! From the headset to the controllers, this feels premium, and it gives you confidence that your headset is not going to break. I also love the black on black everything. Looks stealth! Sound Quality 5/5 – I appreciate that the sound on these isn’t loud nor that it comes with headphones to fully block out outside sound. If you’re gaming you can wear your headset, but otherwise, for watching hearing sound from the device, it’s crips and just loud enough. Mixed reality 5/5 – love this feature for safety reasons but also for usability. The technology is so smart that as soon as you move from the “safe space” you see the real world around you. It also remembers several spots you assigned as stationary stations for you to use the device. Software 5/5 – from the first time turning on the headset to setting up on your phone, it took me about 10-15 minutes, and I was already in. If you can use a smart phone, you will have no problem using this. Using the controllers takes some adjustment, but you catch on. Battery 4/5 – I know 1-2 hours is not a lot for something of this top quality, but for me this is perfect. I honestly don’t want to be sucked into this device, so the battery works for me. More than 2 hours of virtual reality will probably make us sick. If you plan on using this for work 8 hours a day, I don’t recommend it, but you can always plug it in via the USB-c and it will stay on while charging. Overall, 5/5 – I am not the person to say if the price is justified, but as someone who is new to virtual reality, and plans on using this for workouts, gaming and some productivity, this device feels like a great addition to my technology in my house. Maybe in the future more of my friends will have some and we can “hangout” but for now, I will be using it to keep a healthy and productive lifestyle. Who knew Meta could even do this for me, and this is why I am pleasantly surprised!

The daily VR I didn’t know I needed in my life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have gotten to use my partners Quest 2 in the past. But, this was my first time experiencing my own, at home VR headset, and Meta did not disappoint. This VR headset is miles ahead of anything on the market previously, and much appreciated upgrades and features. Out of the box you are given everything needed to get started. A charging base that is for both the headset, and controllers, a cleaning cloth, protective dust cover for the headset, charging cables, stylus tips and more. The setup process was easy enough once you let the device charge up fully which took about 2 hours. It does come with a charge, but it’s recommended to make sure the oculus it’s fully charged before first use. Right out of the back you get a beautiful, and fully immersive display. The graphics, the color, the sound is all breathtaking, and nothing I have experienced before. The optical improvements from the quest 2 is noticeable, and that alone makes it worth the upgrade. I consider myself an Excited Explorer, and love trying new ways to make my life easier through technology. The first app I tried was TRIPP and the visuals, the interactive surroundings, everything was beyond what I could imagine. I have used this to workout, meditate, play games, have a party with my partner and game together, cast, and have also begun to checkout some of the features that can help me in my work life as well. It is comfortable, and highly customizable to fit your face, and eyes in every way. You can even get a recommendations on adjustments, based on your facial features. I will say that it’s been a struggle to get the fit right, because once you do you have to losen it again to be able to take it off. Also, I did find my neck to hurt a bit, but that was during times I didn’t have it on properly, so, there is a learning curve. Also, it could just be the shape and size of my glasses, but I did t not find them to work well with the headset at all, and opted out while Questing. I will also say trying to get the controllers on the dock correctly was a struggle and there’s some opportunity there. Overall, I can’t take away any stars for anything because this Meta Quest pro is just too amazing to do so. I have been, and see myself using this everyday. Upgrade, first time users and everyone n between will love using this immersive, beautifully crafted VR.

Good but still needs work
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The visuals on this are excellent when working in VR, the controllers track very well especially since they have their own tracking are still usable even behind you. AR/MR is better than previous versions and in color, but still lack in quality and lastly although it come with side blinders that magneticlly attach, it still lets light through around the nose and cheeks. It has wireless connection, so no cable is needed for power, but would be needed if you want to transfer files to it.

Great for Fun. Not Quite for Productivity.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from the Quest 2 this is a great headset but doesn't feel like an upgrade. My specific purpose for purchasing this headset was to use as Meta intended -- productivity. More specifically, I travel frequently and liked the idea of having multiple monitors and large screens without having to take an entire set up with me. It's almost there. The weight and balance are great. The graphics on most applications look great. The problem is when trying to mirror a desktop screen. I was never able to get the text clear enough on multiple screens to work efficiently. Bringing down the resolution to match more closely with the headset was better but the loss of real estate was a problem. I could deal with the resolution issue. Even going down to a single virtual monitor. The deal breaker was the lag. There were periods when everything worked great but mouse input would suddenly become so laggy that it was like using a remote connection with a 3 second latency. I've tried a lot of options such as hard wiring my system, direct connection, dedicated router. After going through extraordinary steps to reduce input lag it just became more of a burden to use than an asset. The tech is so close. I'm happy to be an early adopter of technology that makes my life easier. For EVERYTHING else I used this for, the Quest Pro is amazing and a great step up from the Quest 2. As a productivity tool, it doesn't improve my workflow -- instead hinders it. If there's a Meta Quest Pro 2 or if software improves in the future -- I'll be repurchsing.

Not a good headset but a great one, keeper for me.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using it for several days and so far, I absolutely enjoying this product. It's comfortable set, and I actually like the decision that nose and side cover can be removed and not required to be always there, and nothing is touching my nose or pushes against my eyes from sides. First, I thought it would bother me but now I am using it and never put covers on. Second, I like bright colors, it's a lot better than what I used to have HP Reverb G2 - I always it felt to dim, especially compare to good TV. Meta Quest Pro is definitely step up - not as bright as my Q90A Samsung but definitely step up. Only thing that I hope in future iteration it would go with OLED options with higher resolution, I still miss absolute black and perfect contrast colors that you can get from OLED during dark scene. In bright scene - these lenses are fantastic, and clarity is amazing. Third, surprising for myself, I actually pleased with sound from these tiny speakers (a lot), it is clear and enjoyable to listen music in them. I have good pair of headphones and new pro earbuds from Apple, and realize I don't use them with this headset - because these build in speakers are doing its job. Only down side, they are not very loud - I would like them to be a bit louder, but clarity is good. Over many years, I owned many VR sets and once I saw several bad reviews on youtube regarding this headset, I felt I had to write my own. I was a bit prejudice to this headset after these reviews, but after trying them and extensively using over past few days (especially after trying Microsoft Flight Simulator streamed from my PC) - Meta Quest Pro is the keeper. It's the best headset I owned so far, it's expensive but I like it.

Face and eye tracking get this!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great PCVR HMD. Used mainly for VrChat face and eye tracking. The lenses are great. The controllers are great. The pop up messages are not great. I don't want a pop up telling me I'm outside my playspace every single time I walk out of the room. I can see just fine. Passthrough is acceptable, but not as good as Quest 3. I also played Minecraft VR aka Vive craft and the colors and clarity are great. If you want face and eye tracking, get this. Minis one star for not being used friendly with those popups. (Outside playspace, controllers aren't tracking, controllers are charging, etc.).

Excellent tech that lacks purpose; for now
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Putting on a VR headset is in some ways magical. You can become completely engulfed and forget your actual surroundings. But it’s not for everyone and especially at this price point when Meta makes a cheaper version of its headset. I’m not going to convince anyone whether VR is worth the effort or if it’s even the future. But below is my honest take and feelings on the Meta Quest Pro. I won’t spend a ton of time on the hardware and features, there are other websites that can cover that in greater detail than me. I just want to speak to it as an experience. The bottom line is that this is a wonderful piece of tech (but not without its flaws) that can do a lot of cool things. The main issue I have, from a software perspective, is how these cool things fit into your work (or productivity) life. Is it great for entertainment, absolutely. Will it change how you collaborate with others, either professionally or in your personal life? For now, no. I love using it, but I fail to see how, at least for now, it is of much use other than playing games or VR experiences. And then by extension, how the price justifies the Meta Quest 2. IN THE BOX The Meta Quest Pro comes with a lot. Charging stand, controllers, charger, portable charger, light blockers, stylus tips, protective cover. Sure, this is all great. But it is a travesty that no carrying case is included. Headset manufacturers are doing this, basically, the product packaging is the case. For $1500, I expect that. Especially for a device that is touted as portable and supposedly the future of your work and social life. What stings even more is the only official case, by incase, costs $120. Come on. Another travesty: no headphones in the box. Again, at this price point, I expect every thing I would need. Luckily, I’ve had no complaints about the noise from the speakers bothering anyone, but I also enjoy VR in private settings so it’s not an issue. There are two headphone jacks one on each side of the front part of the headset. Which one can I use? Both? Neither? How does that work? Without clear directions on how to use the headphone jacks, which there isn’t, they should especially be included. SETTING UP FOR INITIAL USE I had no issues setting up the Meta Quest Pro. I know some people might complain about the need to have a Facebook account or even Meta account, but I can’t help you there. Putting that aside, you simply download the app on your phone, login using your Facebook account or Meta account. You can, like me, turn the headset on first and go through the setup process. However, on your headset you’ll eventually get to the point where it says to finish setup on your phone. And you’ll be stuck looking at your phone with the headset on; which is doable, but annoying. The headset and controllers will need an update. This didn’t take too long. The headset tells you to put it on the charging base until completed. This isn’t necessary, I didn’t, I anxiously waited with the headset on my face. After that, you’re just kind of thrown into the Meta VR experience. For me, there was no tutorial on the fit of headset or the like. There is a way to seek assistance in this regard; in other words there is a tutorial, but for me, it was not something I was forced to go through which would have been nice. I mention this because I found the headset blurry at first. Not terribly blurry, but more blurry than I thought it should be. I knew there was an option to move the lens closer together or further away, but I just couldn’t get a clear picture. After stumbling on the tutorial for fit when getting acquainted with the face tracking, I realized I needed the headset to rest a little higher on my forehead. Bam. The picture was even better. THE “PRO” VR EXPERIENCE? My experience with where the headset should rest on my head is a microcosm of my biggest issues with the Meta Quest Pro. It’s a technological achievement and I love using it, but what and how do I use it? Watching Netflix, or VR content, or playing games, sure I get it. And it’s awesome for that. Playing table tennis in VR is unreal, so is cubism (a modern Tetris like game, but a slower pace). But these are available on the Meta Quest. So why pay a premium for this headset? I don’t know the answer. In Meta’s marketing, and in the tutorial of the product, there’s no way to know. In the app store there’s a section of apps that take advantage of the Meta Quest Pro’s features, but there’s often a large paywall. I’m not opposed to paying for a well developed app, but I don’t know what these things do or how I could use them. Games, they’re different, I’m really referring to the productivity and work apps. Even the apps that are free, which are truly a sight to behold, have a steep, steep learning curve. There’s a nanome app that allows you to manipulate the COVID gene sequence like you were Tony Stark in iron Man. It was really cool. But I’m no biologist, this was a glorified tech demo. I was impressed, but don’t know how it fits into my life. Other apps like shapes XR which takes advantage of the augmented reality, are, again, cool, but have a steep learning curve and seemingly limited user base. It’s just tough to see anyone using these “productivity” apps in the real world. Another point, I’ve only had a limited amount of time with the headset. I’ve yet to figure out how to link your computer to it. I’ve seen videos of other users using the Meta Quest Pro to connect to their computer and have multiple displays. You can even connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the Meta Quest Pro, and using one of the external cameras, can see the keyboard. But HOW do you do this? I don’t know, again, there’s little by way of a guide. A lot of this is figure it out on your own. GAMES I just want to say that I will continue to use my Meta Quest Pro, if for no other reason than the games. I have a PSVR which I adore. I just find experiencing games in VR to be amazing. Brand new experiences from one of my favorite mediums. The controllers are much better than the PSVRs (as expected) in terms of sensitivity and accuracy. I found playing table tennis and cubism fascinating and have been playing them a lot. I’ve downloaded the Vader Immortal and am excited to play them. Point is, as a gaming centered VR system, it’s great. It’s definitely a step up from the PSVR but I can’t speak to the differences between it and the Meta Quest. BATTERY AND SOUND A couple other things I wanted to mention. THe battery life is fine. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not. I mean, I find it too uncomfortable to wear the headset for more than an hour (that’s not say the Quest Pro is uncomfortable, I mean any headset). I need to give my eyes a break. So the battery life, unless you literally plan on wearing it all day, shouldn’t be an issue. You can charge it while playing. The built-in speakers are pretty nice. They sound great. As I said earlier, I don’t know how much noise bleed there is, but you’ll never want for sound. Sure, some nice headset cans might sound better, but these are more than fine. CONCLUSION It’s tough to rate and talk about the Meta Quest Pro. It’s undeniably a great piece of tech. Maybe Meta’s vision of the future is accurate, and this is a preview of what’s to come. But it’s hard to really see what Meta’s vision is. I’m told this is a productivity device, but I’m given no direction on how to incorporate it into my life, which is the problem. Why pay $1500 for a productivity device when all you’re going to do is game and there’s a more reasonably priced gaming headset? Meta has laid the foundation of its vision of the future, but they need to show us how to get there and how to incorporate it into our lives. For now, this is a niche device. It’s tough to recommend unless you really plan on digging into its capabilities. The learning curve (outside of the gaming, video experiences) is steep.

Good Value
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moving from a Rift S to the Pro was a huge leap in both quality and freedom of movement. For a wireless system, this is fantastic and the Questlink tool is great for directly linking to a PC to better utilize custom hardware and push the higher resolution of the Pro. The battery life runs about an hour and a half (1 to 2 technically) but that's more than enough for a good session and has about a 1:1 recharge rate. One of the only downsides so far would be that the partial light blockers are pretty minimal and the Full blockers (which are sold separately) still weren't getting close to the type of blockout on the Rift S. The other being that, without a dedicated router, the Questlink connection can be pretty spotty and drop the resolution quality at noticeably frequently. At this point the Quest Air-link isn't compatible with the Pro although hoping that will be fixed soon to improve the connection in the future. Overall definitely a nice upgrade and much more palatable with the recent $500 price drop.

Sad, I really had high expectations.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really really wanted to love it. It not disappointing is sad. I really cant understand the 5 starts reviews. I mean I love Meta and their products but this system is an incomplete one. The good: The interface is fantastic and the library of games is incredible. The system and the controllers feel premium and the quality is great! Moreover the controllers are the best controllers in a VR system, super responsive and very light. The not so good: The system was developed for professionals and people who do remote work. Seems like the people who developed this do not work remotely at all. Let me explain. Passthrough: The Passthrough sadly, is horrible. In a café in daylight I can barely see my phone, but I cant read anything around me. This is what I bough it for, to be able to work in the road .Is like one of those first phone cameras in the early 2000s. Display, is so pixelated that is unbelievable. You will expect better screen for this money. Just look in Alibaba for the screens. Privacy: How can I work remotely if you or a third party app will not let me use the app if I don't grant permission for video and voice recording? I mean is to much! Meta, I really love your company and this has a lot of potential. Here are some unpaid suggestions: Get better cameras for passthrough (Alibaba) and a better display(Alibaba). If you really want this for professionals, I mean privacy is a must. Recall the ones you sell and update them with better displays and cameras and you will see your product sell better. Sony doesn't make money selling the ps5, they make money with the interface, the games. Remember your reputation proceeds you and costumers do not forget.

Great Virtual Headset with one Drawback...
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Meta Quest Pro is a great tool for the Office or Virtual Professionals. The build feels high quality and the specs are very good. The overall feeling is premium. From the box to the materials used. It feels very comfortable wearing it as well. Is it perfect?...No. Nothing is of course. The only drawback I saw was the price point. This Headset is meant more for office use and the average gamer will not want to spend this amount of money for a gaming experience when there are other more affordable options. Overall - The Meta Quest Pro is a great tool for the office professional, but the price point puts it out of reach for the average gamer.

Love it. But…
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an owner of the meta quest two, I have to say that the meta quest pro is definitely a step up. Connectivity is the same but still in multiple ways much better. Less lag during gameplay, smoother interactions with friends, and despite the lower resolution, much more crisp and clear. I would give it 5 stars, but the fact that you have to pay an additional $50 dollars for light blockers on a device that’s already over $1000 is crazy. Also while the headset is more comfortable than the quest 2, there is more pressure put directly on your forehead. All in all though, great device. Not worth the price tag, but if you won’t miss the money you won’t regret the purchase!

IMPRESSED! Decent step up from the Meta Quest!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this VR headset by Meta deserves a 5 star rating for its impressive capability and all of their improvements and step ups from the original Meta Quest. I've owned the Meta Quest for about 2 years now and decided to go ahead and purchase the Meta Quest Pro to give it a try. Both my girlfriend and I are significantly impressed! Better color, faster tracking, higher quality and all that while being incredibly comfortable to wear. We purchased the Meta Quest Pro for the lower price of $999.99 (much better than $1,499.99). For that price, we think it's worth it and great value for what this VR can do. While still out of reach for most people to splurge on, and while we think it could be sold for less, it's new tech and with all of its capabilities, it justifies the price for the most part. Pros: - COMFORTABLE and light considering size - charging stand/plate included (charges both remotes and headset at the same time) - amazing quality for VR - tracking has improved, more accurate and easier to play real world games - higher quality image and resolution (easier on the eyes) - great quality feel, remotes feel great in the hand Cons: - no storage case included (for the price, it should be included) - battery life not the best for most people's standard (2 hours should be plenty considering our eyes should take a rest after some time) - price can be a bit much -

Pricy Best VR headset for now
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love it. They said it has bigger FOV, but I feel it's way bigger. The clarity is great too. For business I didn't try everything yet, but the laptop second screen app is great and immersed is better. I think Quest Pro is a real pro product not like some iPad Pro that isn't anything more than an upgraded version without real pro features. Controllers are big upgrade if you need them for the quest 2. Price is too much I hope they can put a Facebook account option and they take $500 off. Passthrough is great battery life is good too.
