Prime VR, for VR enthusiasts
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a VR enthusiast, I kinda love this thing for $1000. It's a no-go for $1500 though. It's very smooth, very light, very comfortable, and the pancake lenses are prime. I keep forgetting how good pancake lenses are compared to fresnel lenses. If you aren't a VR enthusiast or if this is your first VR headset, the Quest 2 may be a better option, but if you can afford it, this is prime.

An excellent VR Headset
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Valve Index decided to no longer work, so I gave the Quest Pro a chance. This headset feels solid and made with high quality material, not flimsy and cheap like the Index. Face tracking is very nice and makes the vr experience far more immersive, and while you need light for the cameras to track, having cameras directly on the controllers gives much better tracking compared to systems I've used in the past. The display is crisp and produces wonderful graphics, no screen door effect, no god rays noticed so far. Having the battery on the back makes this nice and balanced on my head without much weight pulling down on my face. I spend far more time in vr than I'd want to admit, but can wear this headset for long periods of time with no issue or discomfort. If the higher end features like face tracking and a high quality display doesn't mean much to you, or you only plan to use vr only every now and then, stick with the Quest 2 at the lower price. However if you're in the market for a high end vr headset, this one is an excellent choice.

Not quiet polished enough.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros - Display clarity, thanks to the new lenses, is amazing. There's no blurriness, no god rays...The headset is somewhat comfortable and usable for long sessions of working or playing...The device build is solid and thoughtful. Fit is easy and quick to adjust. Cons - None of the content runs on Quest's native resolution, so everything is more pixelated than it should be...The new display, although more colorful in bright scenes, completely fails in dark scenes. In most content I tried (Vader Immortal, Green Hell, Gloomy Eyes...) there was an amber glow around the edges of the display. It's so pronounced it completely ruined the experience for me....Red Matter 2, supposedly optimized for this device, with eye tracking on and increased resolution, flickers more than on Quest 2....The controllers kept overheating and shutting down sometimes after 5 minutes of very little use...If Meta continues supporting this device, I'm sure they will be able to address most of the issues over time. However, with the limited number of units sold, I fear it may go the same way as the original Quest 1. For the price, the experience should have been more polished.

Overpriced.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Feels premium. But not 1500$ premium. Should honestly retail at 1000-1100. There is a reason the day these headsets released they've been on ebay for 1000-1100 new or "used once". The only reason this gets 3 stars is because of the controllers. The cameras on the controllers make the accuracy of the hands VERY clean. The controllers are very high end and awesome for beat saber. Huge kudos to meta here. The field of view is about 15% larger than a quest 2. Which isn't very impressive. Basically every other headset out there at this price gives you a better picture and experience for this money. The box comes with side blinders and charging cables. That's it. For the price you'd expect a full blinder so you can actually be immersed. The headset being totally open at the bottom kills it. Also no link cable included.. what? Battery life is about 1.5-2 hours in airlink. You can tell this is geared for enterprise use. Because only a business with mad disposable income would be whack enough to drop 1500$ on these. With the pimax Crystal, vive elite.. and others coming out at the same cost or 500$ less, with MUCH more to offer, this meta pro will not age well.

Tech Reviewers should give more credit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK, I GET that it is 1500 freaking dollars. I GET the negativity the media has given to this product, especially related to the metaverse. Despite that, I couldn't help but get one and try it out. Same thing as the Quest 2? Not at all. In particular it seems that much more attention to ergonomics and user experience has been taken into account. The overall solution is a bit heavier, but sits much more balanced on your head. To a point where you stop even noticing the weight. The default solution has open sides and bottom, so you can look down or to the side and see. I thought this would annoy me, but honestly it didn't. And when I want full immersion, it comes with magnet attachable side guards that click on easily to the sides to block out the light. The controllers are great. No longer do I need to change out batteries, and the 8 hour runtime is not a problem for me, as the dock recharges them between uses, and i never once have used a headset for more than 4 hours in a day. Honestly, I haven't tried horizons...as It really isn't my thing, so I can't speak to that, and probably never will be able to speak to that. I was a bit disappointed at the resolution of the environment passthrough, and was hoping it would be a little more clear, to the point where I could look at my phone and use it...but unfortunately you can't. That being said, The Mixed Reality feature is still helping in sizing 3d models and seeing how they fit in real life. This is going to be awesome once a database of furniture, products, and home layouts are available to aid in home purchasing, furniture purchases, and design. I think everybody was hoping this would take a larger leap forward, but I had tempered expectations, and they were honestly blown away.

Great quality headset, not a big leap from Q2
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quest pro is a wonderful AR/VR headset, and while it makes many strides in the AR space, tbats about where it stops. The pancake lenses are an improvement, but it would be nice to see a improvement in battery life or in resolution, neither seem to be better than the Quest 2! Hold on for the upcoming Quest 3 next year!

This is the best Wireless set you can buy ATM
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like it, the first headset I can wear without getting a headache and dizzy. It's the BEST choice for wireless VR and soon they'll have 6E going and that will help with latency. Looking forward to years of use, Best Buy was great during this and they even price matched for me like pros!

Pro headset vs quest 3
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the quest 3 and the pro headset, the quest 3 headset has clearer visuals but the pro controllers feel more accurate and premium. I wish the quest 3 had a pro controller option from factory and not have to buy separate.

Not worth the money in comparison to the previous
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If this was the same price or even close to the price of the Oculus 2 it would be okay but it is not worth anywhere near the retail price I'm afraid and I am a vr/mr/ar enthusiast. The pass through is okay but not amazing the resolution is okay but not amazing the field of view is ok but not amazing and really it feels like it hasn't been thought out that well as there is not many apps that you will run in this that will make a huge difference to you in comparison to the Oculus 2

A step up, but needs more
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many upgrades that this headset offers over the Quest 2. Better resolution, field of vison, and controllers to name a few. The headset also manages to feel lighter despite the fact that it's heavier. This has to do with how the headset is more balanced front and rear along with the forehead support. However, the Quest Pro falls short in a couple of areas. First of all, the partial light blockers are flimsy. The additional cost full light blocker isn't much better. It seems like these were an afterthought. Also the IPD adjustment is a joke. A simple slider on the outside of the headset would have been better and it's not like it hasn't been done before by other manufacturers. Honestly, for the price, it seems like Meta cheaped out on some things that would have made this headset perfect.

Quest Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headset! I've previously owned a original htc vive, oculus rift s, and quest 2. This HMD includes eye tracking as well as mouth tracking. Down sides of the headset is the mouth tracking and light protectors. Mouth tracking is not super precise on small mouth movement and the inability to track tongue movement for a wider variety of expressions. The Quest Pro comes with two side light protectors but personally I like to have the bottom covered as well as it can prevent full immersion. I definitely recommend it for people who are already in the VR community as an upgrade but for someone new to VR I don't recommend. I use this headset with a pair of valve index controllers, 3x htc vive trackers and 2x htc 1.0 base stations.

I'm ok with it. But there is room for improvement.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My actual rating is 3.5 stars. I am fairly satisfied with it: expecially concerning the quality of the image and the fact that you don't need to setup base stations (like some other VR sets). The above two things are very important to me. On the negative side: - After a while, the headset can create discomfort (expecially on the back of the head). I am planning to buy an extra strap for the top, to improve it, but I wish it was already part of the kit. - When playing supernatural, the controllers get hotter and sometimes they stop working until you reset them (this is indeed very annoying). To be fair, this seems to happen less frequently after the last firmware update. However, the issue is still there. - Sometimes, it looses the tracking of the environment when the light condition in the room is not ideal. - The battery should last longer. You can buy an additional battery to connect to the USB C port. But, again, it should come already with a larger battery. For the price, they should do better.

If money is not an object...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If money is not an object and you want to have the best VR available within the Meta ecosystem, then this headset will not disappoint. It provides a better experience than Quest 2. It does not feel like a generational leap due to the lack increased resolution. It does create pressure on your head given its weight and the position of the fasteners, so i do have to stop using it after an hour or so. It has shortcomings , but i wouldn't rather vo back to Quest 2 or Valve Index. This headset is my new go-to.

Say good bye to eye discomfort!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had many headsets like the oculus rift-s, reverb g2, htc vive, even the quest 2 that have caused my eyes to feel strained and fatigued after each usage. One of many reasons why it was happening was due to the small sweet spot that i had to find to get a clear image. And when I moved my eyes, everything outside of the sweet spot was uncomfotably blurry. Other factors that attributed to my eye discomfort included god rays and chromatic abberation. However, the the quest pro's pancake lenses provides amazingly clear visuals, with edge to edge clarity. My eyes no longer felt fatigued. Now I can watch a movie or a show on Netflix and actually enjoy it because it isnt fuzzy and blurry. However, the passthrough is a let down because it was not nearly as clear and clean-looking as what meta depicted on the internet. But with future firmware updates it will be greatly improved.

High price but in the end worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this almost a year ago and i got to say compare the the Quest 2 that I also have for my kids. this device is defently a better buy but for the price of 1700.00 I think I could of not missed a couple of the small differences. I can do Augmented reality but if you are a simple guy like me who dose not have time to learn all these new software programs out there them it really is not worth the extra money. all in all I am happy with my purchase just wish it did not cost as much.

1k for 400$ parts
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Furst iff, the unit flosts on your head. Beautifully designed in that regard. The issues that i had, was every piece of this device, is worse then its 400$ counterpart, the quest 3. The worst, and what sealed the desl fir returning this, was the passthrough. Meta may fix it later, but as if now, the passthrough is blurry, grainy, and unusable. The only unique thing, was the eye and mouth tracking. And that only works in limited situations. For example, if buying for vrchat, your avatar needs to support eye tracking and mouth tracking. Both done in unity. And unless your svatar is cudtom built by a professional, it likly doesnt hsve it. So the festure is useless.
