Amazing finale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is simply one of the best games period. Following the same game play mechanics introduced in peace walker and ground zeroes. Metal Gear Solid V the Phantom Pain is truly outstanding. The game lets you play at your own style, while going stealth is the still the best option in almost all cases, the game doesn't penalize you as much for going in guns a blazing. Almost halfway through the game, and it has been simply amazing, the buddy system was an amazing change, and the gun customization is a neat tool as well. Overall this is probably game play wise the best Metal Gear, most of the story is told by cassettes instead of cut scene and codec in this one, so remember to listen to all your cassettes.

PS4 Version - Outstanding
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm still in the prologue of the game (just purchased it) and already in awe over the quality of development. The game plays as though it were a movie (so far anyway) and demands your attention. We'll see how the rest of the game and story pans out but I'm impressed so far. I hear the PC version is superior in graphics (which is usually the case so long as you have a rig to run it and are not playing Arkham Knight #rim shot) and I was 50/50 on the PS4 but I'm happy. It looks, runs and sounds awesome. Excellent game so far and I HIGHLY recommend purchasing it.

My time in country
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My time in country has lead me to these conclusions. 1. If you have not played Ground Zeroes, at least watch it. It will give you some contextual background starting off. 2. Be sober. 3. If you have watched YouTube videos, remember that you are not a MLG gamer. The missions that have been released to view, have either been run by a person who is exceptional at games, andor really good at editing. 4. Patience is a virtue unto itself. You will fail. Horribly. Bloodily. Readily. What makes the green grass grow? Answer: your blood after you miss the one guy who was in the head, and the next thing you know that entire Russian 40th Army is after you. RUN BOSS RUN. ... but trust me on the sun screen.

The End?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A very fun open world stealth game that embraces the concept of freedom to tackle missions any way you want to. You really feel like an operative looking for the easiest, sneakiest, or most chaotic way out. Mother Base Building was good fun, but exploring Mother Base itself left a lot to be desired. Story was an absolute disaster, with interesting concepts that never became fleshed out and entire plot points left dangling when the credits rolled. Character performances were pretty stellar, especially Keifer Sutherland's Big Boss. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who will take full advantage of taking different paths and not choosing the same approach in every mission. Otherwise the game will become repetitive very quickly. If you have never played a Metal Gear game, I would highly recommend it. If you are a long time fan of the series, proceed with caution. This is not the ending that Metal Gear fans deserved.

Plenty of fun. Open world.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is a bit repetitive, but the gameplay is a lot of fun. Smooth controls and combat flows perfectly. The story isn't fantastic, but there is enough there to keep you entertained. The game is too short, but you can get a lot of play time out of the game if you go for 100% completion.

By far the best game I suspect in the series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played almost all mgs games but the vita version which by the way has similar mechanics with the Fulton system. I played ground zero and I know the mechanics will be similar and by far snake or big boss has the best moves from all other mgs games. I feel I can stealth better than ever before and also if I get caught I have no problem being able to take out multiple enemies with no problem. The only thing missing from ground zero is all the great boss fights I assumed wil be in phantom pain among of course online MP and a very long and hopefully engaging story.

Great End to the Metal Gear Saga
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is an absolute masterpiece, great gameplay and huge open world equals a huge win for Kojima in his very last MGS game. A Must Buy

Plays great, story not so great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll get the bad out of the way right now: This game is incomplete. Unresolved plotlines, repetitive side missions, main missions that don't carry any story significance, certain cassette tapes clearly meant to be cutscenes. The list goes on & on, Kojima & Konami relations are clearly to blame, & it's a shame because this series definitely deserved a better send-off. With that being said, I still poured over 100 hours into this game because I love Metal Gear & it plays great! And get this; I'm not even 100% complete yet according to the main menu. So yes, it is a fantastic game overall. It's not the GotY, & not even the best Metal Gear, but still very much worth the time & money. Just go in with curbed expectations & don't fall into the microtransaction hole.

MGS V is all about patience and when to strike
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fan since MGS came out for PS1 and have since then bought every version. MGSV holds true to it espionage action, extended story lines, and great cinematic. I love the mission and open world exploration and the PS4 graphics do the game justice. Well done Hideo Kojima

Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome game with a lot of things to do with an Awesome Story! The game keeps you wanting more and highly addicting! Another great game by Hideo Kojima. Fighting system and controls are great with quick response. A lot more difficult game if you alert the sentries its chaos and you have to fight using strategic wisdom to escape the alerts. Day One Edition should have had a bit more perks or rewards.

An amazing Hideo Kojima game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty much everyone should at least give this a try. If you HATED the prologue game, then this probably won't change your mind. For everyone else, the gameplay is amazing and pretty flexible. As usual, Hideo Kojima has pushed the bounds of game design and graphical capabilities. One of the prettiest games this generation. The story is wacky as usual, but amaaaazing gameplay.

Come for the MGS, stay for the gameplay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game has some of the most enjoyable gameplay I've experienced in the least enjoyable open world. I'm not a huge follower of the MGS storyline so I don't feel confident commenting on that but to be honest the story takes a backseat for what seems like a majority of the game. Level design is great but unfortunately you backtrack to the same locations often so it can get repetitive even if you're only following the main story missions. I cannot emphasize enough that if you are considering buying this that you should expect fun gameplay along with beautiful graphics and just leave your expectations no higher.

Beautiful.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a longtime of the Gear franchise and I have to say that this installment is fantastic and different. Always known for it's unique and bizarre plots, MGSV doesn't disappoint for the most part. It's a shame that the landscapes aren't really appreciated unless you take on missions during the daytime but in doing so, you are opened to being spotted by the enemy. The Easter Eggs in the game are plenty and fun to seek out or stumble across. And the addition of customizing Mother Base brings a whole new addiction for me. Stealth combat, interesting plot and gorgeous gameplay make this game a must own.

Lacking Story, but redeeming gameplay.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first people will start noticing that the story is not up to par with other MGS games. However, the game definitely makes up for it in gameplay alone. I felt like I got a solid tactical espionage experience. It would have been great to have gotten an amazing story to go along with it, but for what it was, it was truly an amazing game.

A solid game for someone new to the series.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having only played Ground Zeroes before, I found this game to be engaging in its combat and confusing in its story. You get the sense that this world your own, and its characters, are rich in their backstory, and as a newcomer, it can be overwhelming. I've put the game down for a couple weeks now for other games, after playing the first six missions and doing side ops. But I will be returning soon. Base building is solid and character customization (weapons and clothing) really adds to the game. Online is decent, and requires some time to get the hang of. Solid game.

Lots to do
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game with so many things to do in so many ways. The Fulton system is so much fun to use. I accidentally bumped into a bear and was able to tranq and Fulton it out. Playing with the cardboard box is fun. Messing with the enemy soldiers by stealing all their equipment right after they pass by is very fun.
