An amazing open world game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A free-wheeling, opening world stealth game that lets you choose how to play: loud and violent, or stealthy and secret, MSGV shows the potential for how immersive games can be in this generation of higher processing power and graphic. Challenging, quirky, constantly surprising, this is a game you could play forever.

ITS METAL GEAR!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is Game of the Year for 2015. This is the latest and possible the last metal gear ever. Visually this is one of the best games as it runs at 60fps all the time with no drops. There are plenty of missions, big open world not linear game play. Only con would be that this is the last Kojima metal gear solid game.

A great Metal Gear game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phantom pain is one of those games where you can spend countless hours doing many different and fun things. The game play is probably the best the series has ever seen. The story is not as strong as some fans might expect from the series but it ties into the later games just fine. It's a must buy for anyone.

Excellent Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of the Metal Gear series since the first game. The game stays true to it's core of stealth but allows plenty of action. Graphics are fantastic along with the gameplay. I have not experienced the online gameplay yet but I'm sure Hideo Kojima has improved on the formula of Metal Gear Solid 4.

So Many Things to Do
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After finishing the initial tutorial you are essentially let free in the excellent kojima world of metal gear. It actually becomes a little hard to do the missions when you can sled down a hill in a box, fulton every walking thing, or just enjoy the brilliant environment of Afghanistan.

Great Game!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played MGS since PS1, the only thing I did not like at first on this game was they changed the way is played, is no longer a "story" One big Mission, it is a collection of missions and side-ops that make the story. Once used to this new way the games is actually pretty good.

A Fitting End to A Fitting Series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Metal Gear Solid holds a special place in my nerdy heart. It was the first Playstation game that made me realize just how cool tactical espionage action could be. Sure, we had Splinter Cell, but that came later and never had even close to level of insanity contained in an MGS game. Hideo Kojima has always prided himself on crafting a ridiculous yet awesome story and the Phantom Pain is definitely no slump in this category. The open world aspect of MGS V is an interesting experiment in a time when I'm worn out from exploring all of these "vast universes" in today's recent crop of games. Don't get me wrong, it definitely works here, yet I can't shake the feeling the open world does, as is often the case, disconnect me from the plot. Normally, in say Just Cause 3, this wouldn't be an issue since the plot sucks anyway. But, the Phantom Pain has an incredible plot that I feel is slightly undeserved by forcing the player to participate in open-world shenanigans. 5 stars for plot, controls, and voice acting but minus 1 star for forcing an open world into a game that just doesn't need it.

Kojima dies it again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Phantom Pain is Kojima's latest game in the Metal Gear Solid series. This game looks gorgeous and is incredibly fun to play. Not to mention the deep story and character design. You can't go wrong with this game and I'm actually thinking about replaying it.

This game is huge, lots of roaming areas, the graphics are superb, and best played with a good home theater setup.

Absolutely Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never played a Metal Gear game before. I just did a quick recap of the story on YouTube. I still don't really understand what is going on in the story, but dear God, the gameplay is amazing. Hands down one of the best games I have played all year.

Excellent change-up to Metal Gear Solid Franchise
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Open world stealth aspects are excellent and gameplay is good evolution of the Metal Gear Solid games. Story is weak though and focus really seems to be on the open world / sandbox aspects of the gameplay. In my personal opinion the gameplay makes up for any story setbacks, as i have personally never been a huge fan of the metal gear solid stories and was definitely not a fan of the story over gameplay dominated Metal Gear Solid 4.

Preferably for hardcore MGS fans
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is exactly what you would expect from a Hideo Kojima game, with an added open world element. Exceptional graphics, a lot of exposition, and gameplay that can be a little unforgiving (especially for newcomers). The side missions are a nice treat & can be very rewarding, but the main story missions begin to feel repetitive and tedious rather quickly. Other than the open world concept, a typical MGS game.

The Best Gameplay in Metal Gear History
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the subject suggests, MGS5 boasts what is undoubtedly the best gameplay in the series, with a large open world and a wealth of options in how you can tackle your objectives. The game is a lot of fun. Story-wise, it's kind of weak, but not as weak as some will suggest. I enjoyed my time with it, but it wasn't mind-blowing like Metal Gear games have been in the past. Overall, I absolutely recommend this game.

Superb Graphics & Great Campaign
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MGS 5 is a must have for anybody into shooters. The campaign is probably the best I've ever played for a game in this genre and the unique multiplayer is very fun, which is an extremely important aspect of any shooter for me.

The Greatest and Last Work of Hideo Kajima
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The graphics are so realistic. The story is an epic conclusion to Ground Zeroes. You don't even have to play the previous ones to know what's happening. My favorite will always be Sons of Liberty, but this is definitely top 2.

GAME OF THE YEAR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is amazing. Graphics.. Gameplay mechanics.. every little thing about it will definitely make this game the Game of the Year. Must buy even if you've never played any of the games in the MGS franchise.

Played some of the older Metal Gear titles.....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one by far is the most fun to play to me...not going to say it's the best story-line wise, and I have yet to beat it, so I can't comment on the ending, but overall this game is an absolute must-buy. The online multiplayer compliments the story mode pretty well, but I hope they add more game types in the near future. If I had to rate it, I'd give the game a 9.5/10.

The most fun I've had this year.

crazy good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the most challenging and time consuming games I've played. There's so much planning ahead & recon to be done before just jumping into combat in a mission. you have to scope everything out to find the stealthiest plan of attack. You die? You start the mission over. Tedious. But still so worth it. I was put off a little by the beginning of the game. But once you get into Afghanistan, it starts to get really fun. Definitely one I would recommend
