This game is Metal Gear Solid to the core, the humor is there, the gameplay is there, the stealth vs. force approach is there...it's just the story that is somewhat lacking. However, having Keifer Sutherland voice Snake is a plus! Great game, go out and buy it!

Different mechanics than other MG games in the series but similar story. Awesome game, lots of hours of fun.

Ive been a long time MGS fan and Phantom Pain is the best yet. Ive played everyday since release and am only 49% through.The fox engine is amazing as scale across the landscape targeting enemies. A definite 10/10, do yourself a favor and play this masterpeice!.

I played through this game twice. It was an amazing game. I loved all the little touches in the game such as soldiers equipping armored helmets due to me doing so many headshots and gas masks for the sleep and stun gas being used. Highest of recommendations.

The game can be overwhelming at times since there is so much depth to the game, but this does not draw from all the fun you'l have by playing it! The story, mechanics, and game play are top-notch. I recommend this game to new and returning fans of the series.

This was the first game I have played in the Metal Gear Franchise. While I'm missing some things story wise, I have a blast playing this game. There is so much to do, and so many different ways you can carry out missions. I wish I got into this series sooner.

With all the talk before the release of this game I was unsure on whether or not to purchase it. But I liked MGS :GROUND ZERO . So I went with my gut. Wow blown away from the opening sequence to the huge open world. One piece of advice get the strategy guide.

I've played through 20 some hours so far and I've barely gotten that far into the story. The game's open world/mission-based gameplay and focus on base building/management has completely engrossed me. It really expands on Peace Walker and puts gameplay first.

Great game, different from the last games because of the open world mechanics. Graphics are great as well.

The MGS series has always been a favorite of mine and on the PS4 it's never been better. HD visuals with such an open environment truly allows you to fully immerse your self into the game and story. Don't miss your opportunity to experience this great game!

As a long time metal gear fan this is a rebirth in the franchise. in terms on gameplay this is among the most fun and smooth games I ever played and Although some missions were a bit repetitive at times the overall themes and feel of the game was astounding

I can already tell this will be one of my contenders for game of the year. You can attempt almost anything when trying to complete a mission. There's no right way, such a refreshing break from the open world/ linear missions approach that's become popular.

As someone who did not like the previous Metal Gear games (I found them too restrictive) this game is the complete opposite. You are given freedom of choice how to complete the missions. Go in silent or go in loud, it is your choice. Highly recommended.

I had no idea the Ground Zeroes game was sort of a prologue for the Phantom Pain, both were great. The Phantom Pain is definitely well worth some game time. Massive, detailed and a tremendously fun world to explore! Hours of exploration and missions.

This game is great, I like the episodic feel to it. Plus, we get see Big Boss become more of a legend.

This open world Metal Gear is at the top of the PS4 library. A solid 10 out of 10. I only wished there was more story and more of a finale to the saga. Unfortunately Kojima won't likely get to work on any more Metal Gear games. Highly recommended.

Overall, great game with amazing graphics. The storyline is awesome with a lot of freedom to explore. The game mechanics are awesome as well and the game really allows you to feel as though you are actually doing the mission and a part of the game.

I played MGS4 and loved it, to an extent I enjoyed this one even more. The only thing I didn't like about MGS4 was how many cinematics there were. However, now they have scaled that back, and sometimes it almost feels like too much. I play and wish there were more cutscenes at times. However, this is still a great game. Managing your base is addictive and makes those side missions fun to do. Definitely one of the best games of the year.

If you like the MGS series then you need to have this game, at first I thought the "open" world was overwhelming but to be honest I love that you can do the missions any way you want and you have tons of options, gadgets, support at your disposal...

This game is soo good, I haven't completed the game but the gameplay is so good, alot of side missions to keep you entertained and all the base and organization development bring alot more than just story gameplay to the game. Totally worth the buy.
