I marathoned all of the core Metal Gear Solid titles (minus Peace Walker) in Preparation for the seemingly final Metal Gear game. I was not dissapointed... from a gameplay perspective. This is one of the most brilliantly crafted games I've ever played, it only barely missed being my second favorite MGS game (1st being MGS3 and 2nd being MGS1) on gameplay alone. The story is... kinda weak for a MGS game, there's alot more that Kojima should have (and according to reports, wanted to have) done to complete his love child of over 28 years. For a newcomer to the MGS series.... this game may be a good entrence, but the other games set this games "plot" up, and it may be hard to go back to previous installments after the gameplay enhancements made in this game. I wholeheartedly reccomend this game, and I sincerally hope this is not the final version of the game (I WANT STORY DLC SO BADLY!!!)

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the best game I've played so far on the PS4. This is the first Metal Gear that is opened world giving it an endless possibilities of adventures. The graphics are extraordinary and the online features are chaotic fun.

Lots of content and missions to do. Since release I'm still only at 22% complete. With the addition of the online mode (pvp), I can't decide which to play. The pvp is 3rd person shooting, think Socom. Story is not as much as previous titles but still good.

The (hopefully) last installment in the famous Metal Gear Solid franchise. Excellent gameplay coupled with Kojima's style of cinematic brilliance and storytelling create a wonderful ,immersive experience that should not be missed on next gen consoles or PC.

The controls, graphics and mechanics are great. The gameplay, however, is more like Peace Walker than a main game in the series. It's pretty non-linear and has a lot of mechanics that have nothing to do with the story. It's an open world game as opposed to a linear story-based game; there are very little cutscenes compared to 1-4. BONUS: There's actually a lot of gameplay due to this. The game can easily be around 60+ hours without cutscenes.

This game is nothing short of amazing. If you like open-world structure games with lots of quests and side missions, this will be up your alley. If you like past Metal Gear Solid games and enjoy a good stealth action experience, this game will be perfect for you. If the idea of both types of game put together sounds great to you (and even if you're not sure it could work), let me assure you, this game is nearly perfect just in terms of purely how fun it is to play. There is so much to do, and the complexity is through the roof. It's just a lot of fun exploring, infiltrating villages of enemies and sneaking through trying to take everyone out and recruit soldiers for your army and steal all the loot without getting caught. Or if you like to go in guns blazing, you can do that too! This game is simply amazing. A real showcase for your next-gen console, believe me!

MGSV is amazing in its own right. A lot of the traditional elements from a MGS game are missing, but they have been replaced with things I equally enjoy such as the open world. Controls feel great. Lots and lots of content to keep you busy for a while.

My husband has always been a huge fan of the Metal Gear Solid games and this one did not disappoint him. He said the story line is great and very entertaining. He said it really ties everything together from previous games and the graphics are great!

Incredible game. I've barely scratched the surface of it but already have 8 hours playtime in it. Graphics are amazing. Story is, well, Metal Gear. Which is great. This is the first ps4 game that I have liked enough to spend this much time playing

What can I say? Kojima-san takes the MGS series out with a bang. If I'm being perfectly honest, this entry is a little too much like Peace Walker for my tastes, but I can't really find fault with the game. Afghanistan makes for an amazing sandbox.

Great graphics, mechanics, and missions! I think I've played about 150 hours so far and I'm only 35 percent through the game. I never played the other metal gear games but this one does a good job of catching you up on the story. Very impressed.

The first hour is ridiculously well written and executed in such an amazing fashion. I couldn't believe this was a metal gear solid game. Then after that it's kind of a get rescue missions over with to get back to the cinematic old school crazy metal gear action. It's definitely fun but it does suck having to keep doing the same kind of thing. I miss the set story versus the open world map of this. Still a fun game over all.

This game is a masterpiece Hideo Kojima did it again. He made the PERFECT game. This game has everything Amazing Graphics, Awesome Story, Awesome gameplay. What else does a gamer need in a game. One of the best games i have ever played.

Wonderfully crafted open sandbox for fans of the series as well as first timers. Responsive controls, great characters and a compelling story (although of all it's great pieces this may not be as strong as past games in the series)

This is a very solid game big improvement over the previous installment. sucks that this is the last one tho, great open world concept in a sense. Gameplay is really incredible and the graphics are top notch.

This game occurs before the other ones in the series. just to get that out of the way. The gameplay is incredibly balanced and fair, enemies see you if you wander into light, or slightly lit areas. if you make noise they're alerted. you can play each mission however you want, stealth, or just run in and shoot things up. The world is huge, and there is no shortage of missions, side missions, little things to do to your base, etc. the missions are all pretty similar, but feel completely different because the bases and soldiers react differently everytime. i've restarted a few missions between 12-15 times and each time approached it differently, and it was almost like a completely different mission. I would definitely recommend this game, to fans of the series or new players alike.

I've played all of the previous Metal Gear games, and this one has exceeded my expectations. The only concern I had with this game was the play for 5 minutes watch 10 minutes of cut scene like the previous game had. Once you get past the initial missions, this seems to not be an issue, and I find I play far more than I'm forced to watch cut scenes. Overall I recommend this game to fans of the series

The final Metal Gear Solid game by Hideo Kojima is a shining example of what open-world games could be. The story is what you'd expect from a Metal Gear game, which is a good thing, and the gameplay has never been better.

If you're a Metal Gear fan, this will undoubtedly satisfy. If you're unfamiliar with the franchise, I think that this is still a great game to play, especially if you're keen to stealth games. The open world aspect of The Phantom Pain makes it incredibly addicting to play. Plus, the effort into that hasn't detracted from the quality cinematic storytelling in the campaign at all. Several different and sometimes even unexpected emotions are evoked throughout the game, whether you're going through the story or free roaming somewhere. Side missions and bonus mission objectives so far have made the replayability of the game fun, challenging, and engaging rather than tedious or frustrating. The game's high reviews everywhere are well warranted. Highly recommended.

If you're a huge METAL GEAR SOLID fan then you need to go pick this up ASAP!!! Smooth gameplay great story and if you have a tablet download the app and you can view the map on the tablet while you control Snake... 10/10
