    Probably good to have on hand at the time of installation, but the original antenna wire was plenty long enough to reach the plug in the back of the radio. I have done a few of these on other vehicles and at times I can see where you would need an extension. No two vehicles are the same so I would recommend having this on hand just in case. So don't open the package until you get to that point and decide if you need it or you can return it as I am going to do.

    It works well but I shouldn't have had to buy it. Best buy said that the old cable wouldn't reach the new box's input for the antenna so I had to buy it.

    My old antenna connection was bad so they got the right part to make my stereo work great & it also boosts signals so I can listen longer in this part of country where stations “fade in & out” due to “dark zones”... thanks BEST BUY
