Samus is fast, responsive and agile like never before in a large, beautiful 2D world full of secrets and shortcuts. Building on the features introduced in the 3DS remake of Metroid II, Samus can fire in 360 degrees and melee counter the fast and dangerous enemies, discover powerups new and old using the most detailed map in Metroid (or almost any Metroidvania), and uncover the secrets of the ancient Chozo and the X-parasite.

It is certainly challenging at moments, you will die and perhaps get lost as well. But it never felt too challenging to discourage playing. The story is interesting, the levels are gorgeous (I played on an OLED Switch) and the gameplay is fluid. It really does build on itself so you never feel out of depth or unprepared.
