The Metriod Prime Series at its best

I bought Metroid Prime trilogy for $20 at best buy, which was a total steal. That comes down to three complete games for ~$7.40 each after taxes. I owned the original Prime 1 and Prime 2 games on the Gamecube, but I purchased this because I had never played Prime 3. Not only did I enjoy going through re-playing Prime 1 & 2 with the updated controls and tweaks, but I really enjoyed how the series ended with Prime 3. Each of the Prime games puts you, the bounty hunter Samus Aran, in three desolate, ravaged worlds where you find bits and pieces of the mysterious story as you progress. In each game, some sort of meteor or stellar object crashes into a planet, polluting and corrupting the world with Phazon, a enigmatic substance with radioactive and strange bio-mutagenic properties. Aran's nemeses, the Space Pirates, are caught up in the story, trying to harvest Phazon as an energy source. You must fight your way through a savage world, overcome beasts, foil the Pirates' plans, and build your arsenal to become powerful enough to stop the plague-like spread of Phazon. Woven into the story are creatures known as Metroids, whose origin and meaning are never fully understood. Like Phazon, they tend toward an uncontrollable destruction of life. Seeking prey, they float around and suck the life-force out of any creature they can find. The Prime series brings the Metroid series into the first-person shooter genre, and yet stays faithful to the original side-scroller. One of the most enjoyable recurring themes in the games is upgrading you beam, missile, and combo weaponry. I tend to like things that shoot and blow up. Unless you despise backtracking or exploring in a game, you will like Metroid Prime Trilogy. Even paying a full $50 isn't bad, because there is a lot of replay value. The games are easy enough for people new to the series, but have plenty of challenges in the harder difficulty levels. Anyway, I highly recommend this collection of games. Top-notch games at a great price ($20 was a total steal). However, I heard that Nintendo is discontinuing this game, and I have no idea why... so buy it before people sell it for $100 on ebay.

    3 great games in one

I don't know if this deal is still around but I got this for $20 and that is probably the best deal Nintendo has ever had. I am pretty sure you can't even get the first two games for Gamecube at that price, and the controls on the Wii are much better and are more intuitive. The third game itself is worth this price, and on top of all that you get bonus features that link throughout all three games. If you are one of those people who like to complete games all the way though then you will love trying to accomplish that for this pack. The only problem I've seen is that in the third game it can take a while to load between rooms, which causes you to take damage while you wait and could dramatically effect speed runs, if you are into that. This problem could just be my Wii, which I've had since release and have logged quite a few hours on.

The Metroid Prime Trilogy was a great series of games, and now they're all on one disc! Prime 1 & 2 have been remade with the Wii control scheme, adding a new level of play and excitement to the Gamecube originals. With the processing power of the Wii, all three games run spectacularly smoothly and loading lag has virtually disappeared. They even threw in a host of extras with plenty of things to unlock, including music tracks from the games, concept art, and plenty more. You can even link up with friends on your Wii roster to unlock even more! Having (admittedly foolishly) sold back the original 2 "Prime" installments, I am so glad that they re-released the entire trilogy in one game. This is absolutely worth getting!

    3, 3, 3 games in one!

This was easily one of the best games for the Wii. The controls were updated for the first 2 games to match that of Corruption, which to me is the best control scheme for an FPS since keyboard and mouse. The levels are just challenging enough to keep you interested in playing: not so easy that you feel like a demi-god and not so tough that you feel like a punching bag. They did have to cut out some 'splashing' effects in Corruption to have all 3 games on here, but honestly, you have to be paying very close attention to notice, and it does not diminish gameplay at all. Nintendo has stopped producing this game, so it may not be readily available. If you can find this in-store somewhere, definitely pick it up!

First thing first, i am sorry for all the people who didnt get this in time because i got mine for $20 not $50! So for the people who bought this for $20 wasnt that awesome and kudos to you. For all those who are going to buy it now for $50 or so this is for you. This is one of the best deals on a Metroid game ever. It has all three games of the Metroid Prime series, new motion contols for more accurate aiming and precision, comes in a metal case which is sazy, widescreen presentation and special art booklet. So if i were a consumer looking for a great deal and owned a wii this would be a defient buy. In conclusion i would highly recommend this product for all people. Have fun bounty hunting!

Not since Starwars on on dvd has a trilogy caused so much excitement. If you have never had the change to play or get into the Metroid world this is your chance. Apart from being one of the best looking packages I have seen in a videogame your getting all 3 Metroid Prime games with great Wii controls. Please note there will be a learning curve in getting used to the controls but once you have them down you will be blasting and solving puzzles in no time. Great story, no loading times once you start playing. Metroid Prime Trilogy is the total package and for $50 your getting a great value.

    Most overrated series to date.

Monotonous gameplay, especially Metroid Prime 2 and some of the most boring back tracking in gaming history...you're basically walking past easy enemies most of the time just to get to the only good parts of the game, the boss fights. The series is nothing but an overrated mess, people need to see past the Metroid name, because this series is a mediocre affair

So was new to Metroid III with the Wii. Thought why an "older two versions" of a great game, but the first two are JUST as good as III. So far played about 60% through the first Metroid and it is GREAT. If you like the latest Metroid, this adaptation of the first two is fantastic.

They stopped production of this amazing value of a trilogy. I have an XBox 360 with some fabulous looking games, but even Metroid Prime 1 of this trilogy, made back in 2002, still looks fantastic. The atmosphere and the music are amazing.

The fact this is 3 games in 1 makes this worth it! While the game controls can be a little difficult to use and figure out where you are some times, overall it is well thought out game with a ton of challenge built in.

Despite being one of the best game there is for the Wii (especially for hard core gamers) -- it's no longer being sold. Bummer. It's Metroid, and 3 games in one and updated for the Wii, what more do you need?

If you missed these games, pick up the Trilogy. If you played the first two on the GameCube, it has motion controls like Metroid Prime 3. All around great. Great games at a great price.
