This is a great remake. Nintendo has done a wonderful job of modernizing this game. I really hope they bring back some other games. They have a wonderful library to choose from. If you want a great action/explorer game with some pretty fantastic atmosphere, look no further than Samus Returns. If you google the EU version of the special edition, you'll see how a special edition should be done. The fact that the only thing that makes this version special is the coin is pathetic. The coin is great, don't get me wrong, but it's really meh. Nintendo should be embarrassed by this. I would recommend getting the regular version over this one.

While Metroid: Samus Returns is technically a remake of the Game Boy game, Metroid II, this still feels like an entirely new game with how much expanding and elaborating the new version does to the original. This game is fun, challenging, and satisfying to play. I'm using an original 3DS and the game handles fine, so I can only imagine the improvements with a New 3DS. My only complaints are that some of the controls are a bit unwieldy, ex. trying to fine tune your aiming while firing rockets, the content that is inaccessible without the amiibo, and honestly, I wish this had been made for the Nintendo Switch. I was kind of not looking forward to returning to my 3DS, especially for a game that isn't Pokemon. But I've enjoyed it enough that it's been worth it. Please keep the proper Metroid/Metroid Prime games coming Nintendo.

This is the best 2D Metroid game I have played since Metroid Fusion. I think it is a great re-imagining of the old classic game. The new additions to combat feel great and the classic Metroid game play still holds true. Love it.

Glad to see a "new" 2D Metroid game come out - the game isn't quite as great as Super Metroid but is still a lot of fun. The counter-attack got a little annoying but I appreciate them trying a new mechanic.

This is a great game for newcomers to the series and veterans alike. The new 360 degree aiming is phenomenal. The gameplay is as tight as ever and the world is as creepy and interesting as ever! Love this game!

After years of waiting, Metroid is finally back! Even though this is technically a remake, it shouldn't be treated as one, because it completely revamps the original game and is well worth the purchase.

What a return for Samus and Metroid! This remake is nothing short of amazing! The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is a lot of fun! This game shows 2D Metroid is hear to stay!!
