Worth every penny and then some

This is by far my most favorite phone I have ever purchased...and I have purchased a lot of phones. Every time I thought I found the perfect phone, I find something that just doesn't work for me. The biggest problem I have had with many of my newer phones has been visibility in direct sunlight. This Blackberry can be viewed in the most direct sunlight without a problem!! The features are amazing. What can't this phone do??!! Add in the apps from the blackberry app store and I think its possible to take over the world. It took me a good afternoon to get all my contacts updated, things figured out and the battery charged up, but after a little bit of playing with it I was able to figure out most of the features without referring to the manual. It's super easy to use and when sync'd up to Outlook on my desktop can stay up to date on everything I'm doing. One app I suggest everyone looking in to would be Vlingo. It was the first app I actually purchased and even though was more expensive than most, it has made everything even easier to use. It can read my emails and texts to me while driving and I can say what I need back and it will type it out for me perfectly in any application, text, email, or facebook upate. Pretty cool. There is a free version available, which I downloaded first as a trial and took me a day to realize it's worth paying for. The only drawback I have with it is if you don't edit the text, it puts "Spoken with Vlingo" at the end of your text messages...which I feel should be left for the free version and not the paid one. As for what I don't like about...well, nothing so far and I've had it for a week. Blackberry > IPhone

    Awsome Phone

This is a great phone with Metro PCS. It uses the entire Metro PCS network and not just the "smartphone" network. Metro has unblocked youtube and other streaming networks and I just love this phone. It's really fast too. It runs circles around my Metro PCS 8330. I just did a speed test and got 19000 kbs! That's crazy fast! You can watch movies from the internet and the whole 9 yards. I'm using Sirius, IntellaTV, youtube, mobiscope, player for youtube, and all the rest. I will say I'm having trouble with Pandora though, still looking into that. Battery life isn't impressive. I'm a heavy phone user and I make sure to have my car charger handy. I drive truck and use my phone constantly in one way or another. I can kill the battery in 10 hours or so. The wifi is great. Always a McDonalds or other wifi hotspot around to get all my information I need if I'm away from the network. If you had Metro PCS before, it's changed! Great deal! Only problem is now I have to get my girlfriend one! I hated having Metro PCS before, now I wouldn't think of using anyone else for the area I'm in. The price is just too good! Get it, you'll love it!

RIM Failed To Talk W/ BB Users

This BB 8530 is the "Replacement" for the 8300 series. However, it appears the only thing better about this model is the speed. The slowing down or the "lag" time is not there with this BB. Here is where RIM made some serious errors. 1) There is No Light for the Camera or Video. 2) LED Status light is as small as one can make it, now worthless. 3) Failed to do anything with the VERY WELL KNOWN Issue of A Very Low Ring Volume. (And Yes I have made the adjustments, still same low ring volume) 4) RIM removed the standard issue theme, which has been on the BB sense the 7500 Series. (Unable to locate with BB App World) 5) RIM CHANGED THE SIZE OF THE CHARGING USB PORT!!!! This has to be one of the biggest issues I have, I do not understand why RIM felt the need to make every charger, USB Cord from all other BB’s to become worthless and now a waste. What happen to “Reduce, Reuse” or better yet just not make it so now I have to buy another “Office Charger”, Car Charger & a Second USB Cord so I can back up my BB while at work. Like many other BB users I have a number of USB Cords, A/C Chargers Etc, that now are useless with this phone. I Failed to know this prior to the purchase (my fault) all the reviews I have read have said NOTHING about this. Make sure to budget for the increase cost of the new charger/usb cord other wise you will find your self SOL when it comes to using this BB like you have all the other BB’s in your pass.
