Good starter phonePosted
My daughter and I had these for our first Metro-PCS phones. We had switched from AT&T contract phones and were new to the pre-paid side of things. We hadn't ever had smart phones and felt overwhelmed with those but these seemed like a nice intermediary before we got into the more expensive and more complicated side of the phones. Just so you know, this is NOT a smart phone, just FYI. It is a very nice phone which has some simple initial apps that are user friendly. You can't really download new apps as you can with an iPhone or Google phone but the set up gets you used to the idea. Basically it is a good little starter phone. It has all the essentials but it isn't anything fancy. My biggest complaint was the call quality but that could be just a Metro PCS problem although we now have Androids and the quality is great so maybe it's just the plan? It is only a 3G... My other complaint is the limited ability to enter appointments in the calendar. It is very limited in this arena. You can only have so many appointments before you have to delete old ones. I like to use my phone's calendar to keep track of old appointments as well as new ones for mileage reimbursement, so this was very annoying to me. That's it though- so if you don't need an organizer then this is a great option. Additionally You can get the lower priced plan with this phone and it has a nice responsive touch screen but you should only plan to use this phone for a year or so since it does wear pretty fast. Within 1.5 years of use it was pretty much done, my daughter only got to 1 year before hers was unusable, but she is harder on things. For the price though, I was OK with that. We switched to Google/Android phones after this and because of the ease of use of this little phone I felt I was well prepared to begin using the new smart phone technology which had seemed so daunting to me before. This is a great starter phone but don't expect to get a whole lot of excitement out of it. It does have some very simple apps but they aren't apps like you would find with an android or iPhone. You can easily browse the web and download music or whatever you want, and texting was a breeze (although once it deteriorated too much texting became difficult.) I was overall very happy with this phone. I would recommend it if you are looking for a basic non-smart phone with a nice touch screen.
I would recommend this to a friend
this phone is joke, tried to port my metro number over phone and in store and ended up having to return phone as they couldnt connect it to the network. Contacted bestbuy for help and they really didnt want to help me either. A joke.
