    I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

This 2-DVD set has the entire series "Annette" (all 20 episodes) which featured lovely mouseketeer Annette Funicello, as well as two full half-hour episodes, the one which introduced the "Annette" series and the one which aired the last episode of the "Annette" series. During the first 2 years of the series the episodes of the MIckey Mouse Club were a full hour. But, on this disc set it is the last year, 1958, and the episodes were only a half hour. I bought this more for the "Annette" series and just for the trip down memory lane. I can't tell you when I have enjoyed a tv-series more! I loved Annette Funicello as a child and watching her again really brings me back - to a place I LOVE to go! She's so kind you just want to stare at her lovely face. The storyline is simple, the acting is simple, but still so enjoyable if you like this sort of thing. Kids today would probably laugh at its simplicity. Too bad for them because, really, when it comes to human emotions and values, kids aren't all that more complex at heart than the children of the 50's were. We all have the same hopes and dreams - wanting to be liked, wanting to have the courage to do the right thing, getting hurt by the meanness of others, encountering scary and new situations, wishing we had as much money as richer people, budding romances, etc. Each DVD of the 2-disc set has a nice special feature presentation On Disc One it is "Musically Yours, Annette" and on Disc Two it is "To Annette, With Love". The full episodes are part of the bonus material and are on that menu. Best Buy is sold out of this show right now, but I hope they will get more in. They also have the title "Annette" spelled incorrectly as "Annete". If they corrected the spelling so people could find it, they would probably sell more. I had to find it on an obscure online DVD store. I would have bought it from Best Buy had it been available. Annette Funicello was, by far, the most popular Mouseketeer, handpicked by Walt Disney himself. She's lovely in the "Annette" series. I highly recommend this DVD set!
