Necessity for xbox live and zune

    Posted
    TheSpartan117

A must have for downloading maps and content, though i wouldn't pay for the themes unless you really find one you like and want to differentiate yourself. These points go into the same account that you use for the Microsoft Zune. Sadly, best buy doesn't sell the zune marketplace points, but if you buy these, they'll go into the same online account and vice versa. I haven't latched onto buying full length movies yet, they're still trying to push the online rental downloads, and the movies are highly priced. Oh, the points don't equal cash. 79 points equal about 99 cents, that comes in handy when you're buying music from zune marketplace. 99 points are about 1.29 dollars. Just something to keep in mind, it makes you feel like you're spending less than you actually are. Getting these on occasion are a must have and would also be the perfect gift for any xbox live gamer in the family.

    A Great Gift

The Microsoft Points act as a great gift for someone who owns an Xbox 360. They can be used for buying new gamer pics, as well as new themes for the Xbox 360 dashboard. They can also be used to purchase new maps for online games as well as new cars for racing games and endless add ons for every game on the Xbox 360. You can even purchase old school or third jerseys for your sports teams. With the points you can also download movie rentals or purchase movies, as well as music videos and Xbox Live Arcade games. For a player of Halo 3 you can even use them to expand your storage space for your Halo replays. The reason I see them as more of a gift is because if you own the Xbox 360 you can purchase points off of Xbox Live with a credit card so buying them in store isn't always necessary if you are able to purchase them on Live.

    Worth it

When the 360 first came out i didn't see the point of buying points that i wasn't necessarily going to use since there wasn't a lot of download content out. Now however, it's almost a must seeing as almost every game out now has some extra content. The great part about it is that most of the content adds to the experience of playing the game so it is worth the money. Also, once you shell out the twenty bucks and add the points to your account, when ever you see something you like you don't have to worry about spending "more money" because you already payed for the points. The only thing that I've heard people complain about is how Microsoft made 1600 points worth $20 instead of 2000 points being $20. Honestly it breaks down easily most of the time so you have a basic idea of how much the item is worth. ******Overall it is totally worth the buy******

Points are a little expensive but great concept

OVERVIEW: Microsoft did really well implementing this idea so anyone can walk into BestBuy and pick up a points card, go home and buy an arcade game (w/o a credit card). PLUS (+++): + No credit card necessary so a teenager can go out there and buy a game with out parents. + Nice to be able to buy games for a system that aren't $60 each MINUS(---): - The points are a little more expensive than they should be - Would be nicer if it was 2000 pts for $20 to make it more like money (I think microsoft had this in mind though) - NO TRADE IN VALUE if you get tired of a game (THIS IS HUGE), you can end up spending more for one of these games than Gears or something because it is possible to get gears for a deal and then sell for more than you bought it. These games you have to buy and keep (BOO!)

I love this idea. You can buy points in the store and then head online with your X-box 360 to buy new content. You can buy these online as well however you need a credit card for that. You can buy over 100 different arcade live games from old games (classics/retro) to newly created games for this. You can download new gamer pictures that act as your "avatar" to other people. Also themes (although I don't know why anyone would pay for something only you can see...). You can "rent" movies and download actual expansion packs for some games with it. So in a few words you can do a lot with these points. If you want something online and don't have a credit card to use through your console, check this out.

Everyone needs some microsoft points. Have you browsed the Xbox Live Arcade? There are a lot of awesome downloadable games to purchase with the equivilant of $5 or $10. You would be surprised at how incredibly fun some of the better XBLA titles are. If you have Rock Band, you definitely need points, as there are TONS of downloadable songs on the Xbox Live Marketplace to add to your game playlist. That is what I mostly use points for, and it has added incredible value to the game. I played Rock Band up until the day Rock Band 2 came out, which I have played every day since. The only dowside is that 80 points = $1, meaning you need to do math to figure out exactly how much USD you are spending.

    Xbox Marketplace Currency

This card gives you "Marketplace Points" that can be spent online though your Xbox to buy games, extra game content, music, tv shows, new Xbox 360 themes, and movie rentals. If you do not go online with your Xbox then this card won't do anything for you. When you buy something off of Xbox Marketplace the cost will be in points (e.g., a game for 800 points). Content you can buy with these points are priced very differently, so you have to decide for yourself if any particular download is worth the points "cost." Overall, I have had a good experience with downloading content and will continue to do so.

Xbox Live Marketplace Points are a must for any Xbox Live gamer. These points allow you to purchase new game content, dashboard themes and gamerpic packs. No credit card is required, simply scratch off the foil and enter the code on the Xbox Live blade. The points are immediately added your account balance, ready for use. These cards are great gifts for any Xbox gamer, and they will be appreciated. It is the iTunes gift card for the Xbox gamer.

If you are looking to add a new map pack, gamer pics, movie, TV show, etc. to your Xbox experience then this is a much easier method to do so than having to put all of your credit card information in to buy the points online. Most of the additional game content is overpriced though, which I must admit is not the fault of this product. I will say however that 1,600 points does not go far at all. If you have to add on new content this is the way to do it.

Easy way to get Xbox Points without using CC

At first we enter the code on the back of the card with no success. Xbox kept telling us we had entered an invalid code. But, we found out we were entering the code in the wrong place. Do not enter the code under "Redeem Code". There is another section called "Add Microsoft Points". You can get to it by pressing the Blue "X" button on your controller. Once we entered the code in the correct area, eveything worked fine.

The Marketplace points are a great way to improve your Xbox360 experience. Getting a little board with Rock Band? There are a ton of additional songs (even entire albums!) to download and open up a whole new experience. Want to watch a movie? Lots of movies to watch in HD, new as well as old. You can even download your favorite NASCAR dashboard theme! Lots of options to spend your points on!

I did buy this. The points are alittle confusing at first but after you understand them they are really easy to convert to money. The points are good for buying pagages for games that unlock exclusive content and add playing time to games. Before you buy this you should look on the market place so you know how much your gonna need. all in all this is great.

The marketplace points are great. You can use them to download some of the original xbox games and also some new Arcade style games. You can download new movie releases also cheaper then buying them at the store. The marketplace also supplies your themes and more gamer pictures.

These are great because they are cheaper than buying the points online......at my blockbuster here in Laredo Mexico each one of these is only 200 pesos (about 17 dollars) and is very easy to use ....overall great way to buy new stuff without exposing your credit card numbers

This is a really useful, because you can use it to buy just about any movie or tv show that the xbox 360 has. You can choose from endless possibilities. Also, if you have a game like Call Of Duty, you can use it to buy some of the new maps they come out with.

I have bought a few of these cards and they are great to use and easy to use. I buy them for map packs and then with the left over points I'll pick up a acarde game. However, I would like to get more than 1600 points for twenty dollars.

The points are very nice and useful to have. The only problem is i spend them very fast.If you like to buy alot of things on the x box live marketplace, i would recommed you buy 4,000 microsoft points instead of 1,600.

buying the 1600 point card is much better than giving xbox live your credit card number. just make sure not to scratch off the code too hard cause you could scratch off some numbers
