It look a little time to get use to it but I love how the keyboard curves to your hands. The Ergonomics was carefully thought through when this keyboard was developed. It makes sense as to why you hands are somewhat angled, I find it very comfortable.

This keyboard is very comfortable to use. There is an optional riser that comes with it to attach under the front end of the keyboard. It raises it up so that you can rest your hands on the padded surface comfortably while typing. This does put the keys at an "odd viewing angle," but if you're a touch typist it will be no problem.

Good keyboard, not as good as the old one

Good ergonomics, like the one it replaced, but much louder.
As others have noted, they moved F6 from the right half of the keyboard over to the left which is annoying, and added an extra delete key on the upper right, which was not needed and is too close to the backspace. Function keys are now too close to the regular keys. They also added the menu key just below Z, which nobody wanted, and that makes ALT-TAB more of a stretch, and also makes it easy to hit WINDOWS-TAB instead. Finally, they took away the indicator lights for Num lock, CAPS lock, and Scroll lock. These used to be in the center section between the keys, but now they are tiny little lights on the keys themselves. The problem is, you can't see if CAPS lock is on, because it's hiding behind your left index finger, which is on the A.
So, they took a pretty good product, made it louder, and made a few unnecessary layout changes. They should have left it alone, but the old one is hundreds of dollars on the used market, so we're stuck with this one.

Love this keyboard. Got it to replace an older keyboard of the same layout, really like this keyboard, my older one is just several years old and the wrist rest is tearing and some of the more used keys have the lettering worn off. It still works good and I don't really need the lettering on the keys, but wanted to get a replacement just in case.

For years I loved using the wired Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard with the Star Programmable keys that allowed me to call up favorite documents and websites without other keystrokes to find them in File Explorer or a web browser. But my 4000 died a few days ago, and I was sad to see it is no longer made by Microsoft. It has been replaced by several other models, but with without the Star Programmable keys. So I went to Best Buy and tried out five or six keyboards. The closest replacement for my 4000 appeared to be the wired Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard priced at $45. But I wanted the best keyboard I could buy, and the Logitech ERGO K860 was $130, so I figured if it cost three times as much, it must be a MUCH better keyboard! It was comfortable to use, and the back of the package said it had programmable F keys, so even it didn't have any unassigned programmable keys, I thought I could program the F keys to call up documents and websites like my Microsoft 4000 did. So I bought the K860. I hooked it up at home and tried to figure out how to program the keys. There were no instructions in the package. I went online to the manufacturer's website to download instructions, which said the function of the F keys could be changed to other choices, but did not say they were programmable. It just had a list of other commands you could change the key to perform. So for example, the F1 key, which normally brings up Word Help, could be changed to one of several other specified operations, such as printing a document, or displaying your email or calculator, etc, but there was no option to call up a specific document or perform a macro like you could do on the 4000. I called the ERGO help line to find out how to program the keys, and they said, "Sorry, you can switch the function of the F keys to the alternate listed choices, but you can't program to do something else." So I returned the ERGO to Best Buy, and got a polite refund with no questions asked. I bought the $45 Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard, which also said on the back of the package that it had programmable keys. I was pleased to see that indeed it in addition to the F keys, it has three more unassigned keys that are fully programmable, just like the keys on the 4000 were (although the 4000 had five of those). And this keyboard is just as comfortable to use as the ERGO at 1/3 the price! The only advantage I can see with the K860 is that it is wireless, but I prefer wired because there are no batteries to fail and a wired connection is always better than wireless. By the way, the new $45 Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard is more comfortable with better key feel than my old 4000, so I am delighted with the new Microsoft keyboard.

Bought this for a client whom I was building a new computer. She prefers the ergonomic layout of the keyboard. Microsoft has the best value ergo keyboard and is extremely reliable with good tactile feel.

the best keyboard that i've owned. quiet and comfortable to type on. after trying a logitech ergo keyboard, the surface keyboard, and the sculpt wireless keyboard, i got this to replace the bluetooth version, which had some lag issues. i use this in combination with the wireless sculpt mouse.

This is a very comfortable keyboard with the nice key feel from good MS keyboards. My one complaint is some of the keys an advanced user might need like the bottom bar context menu are now replaced with social uses like favoriting, but this is only a mild annoyance.

The keyboard is designed to give a very comfortable hand position. I use it when switching between working from home and hoteling in the office. The only drawback is that the integrated 10-key makes it too big to be zipped inside my backpack. A small port of it must remain sticking out.

My Dr said i need an Erho keyboard to relieve stress in my shoulders and carpal tunnel in wrists. This keyboard takes time to get used to, but so far so good with my breakin pricess. I could tell immediately my posture is improved. Im pleased with this purchase!

I'm working on a Masters degree and have to write a TON of papers. This keyboard is much more comfortable and natural for my wrists, and after just a slight learning curve, quite easy to use. The pad in front of the keyboard is soft and comfortable to rest my wrists on as I type. Wonderful keyboard, so glad I bought it!!!

I, like most use a computer everyday. Using this ergo keyboard made a huge difference. Regret not having invested in one sooner.
Bought the wired because I only use it on one computer so it doesn’t make sense to pay more for wireless. Anyway, can’t be happier with this buy.

I am using this for work. I've used an old MS ergonomic keyboard for years and having the F6 key to the left of the split is really throwing me off. There are other spacing issues that are slowing me down, but I'll get used to it. Otherwise, it is very comfortable. The keys aren't noisy. It works.

I spend a lot of time on my computer and I have been using this keyboard for more than 6 months now. My feedback is that it’s a bit pricey but thanks to it’s ergonomically well designed layout I don’t feel the stress on my wrists anymore. Happy customer!

Getting harder and harder to find these traditional ergonomic keyboards, but if/when you can find one of these Microsoft ergo keyboards, jump on it. This is maybe my 4th over the past 15 years with daily heavy usage. Great product, and highly recommend.

I really like my new ergonomic keyboard. Even though it is a bit different layout than my previous one, I'm getting used to it. I have to use ergonomic keyboards due to carpal tunnel and arthritis in my hands and fingers. It really helps!

It is amazing how difficult it is to find a good ergonomic keyboard to help prevent carpal tunnel. This one is perfect.
Just the right split to keep my wrists at the right angle, and with the additional option of raising the front it is even more perfect.

This is my first ergonomic keyboard and I love this keyboard. It took a bit to get used to because it is sloped from the middle but now I can type with ease. I love that there is a place to rest your wrists.
And the keyboard is reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
