I don't know why for all these years I should of bought a Microsoft ergo keyboard. I used lots keyboards before and use them for hours and lets just say my wrists gets uncomfortable. I finally made up my mind and bought this keyboard. My wrists are no longer strained from hours of keyboard use and I like the layout of the extra function key (i.e. volume, pause, play, ect). I like the fact that you can program the extra function keys for whatever purposes you need with the Microsoft mouse and keyboard software. Even though this keyboard was a bit pricey, it well worth the purchase. Don't let your arms and wrists get strained ever again by buying one of these keyboards.

Best keyboard I can find. This is my replacement as I spilled some water on the old one. This one has been refreshed a bit, but is still the same. It helps keep your shoulders relaxed while typing. Which should keep headaches away. Lay your hands on a regular keyboard and watch your shoulders. Then try this one. Big difference. FYI - If you've never typed on this one, it takes a couple days to get used to it! Then you won't even notice the difference and will actually prefer this one!

This is the fourth time I've purchased this keyboard over the past ten years. I blame the frequency of replacement on myself; each time it failed was due to a spill of some sort (water, coffee, tea, etc.). I give it four stars because it doesn't stand up to spills at all. If waterproofing was a little more robust, it would be an easy 5-star review. The keyboard is extremely customizable using its software, and it is a pleasure to type on, so long hours at the computer are a lot more comfortable. The incorporated wrist/palm rest is one of my favorite features. It keeps me coming back.

I've been using a microsoft ergonomic keyboard for years. I love these things because they keep my carpal tunnel syndrome at bay. I typically get more than 10 years of life out of them to the point that many of the letters of the keys have worn off, but the keyboard still works. It's also not that difficult to clean. I pop off the keys, clean them off, vacuum the crumbs out, pop the keys back in and I am back in action.

This is a wonderful keyboard. I use Linux and this board works perfectly. Even functions such as sound work perfectly. There is a learning curve because you have to become accustomed to not lifting your wrists. My wrists have been operated on. This keyboard is comfortable to use and I actually type faster with it. Just relax your wrists and shoulders. You will be amazed at how much easier it is to use this keyboard. Your shoulders and wrists will thank you.

This by far is favorite keyboard ever. I started using my first one of this model at work, and had to have one at home too. I have had to replace it a couple of times due to it getting sprayed or stuff spilled on it that shouldn't be. I love the positioning of the keys, after years of using this it is really difficult to type on a regular style keyboard. Last time I had to replace it, I paid almost twice as much for a Logitec simply because it was wireless. It did not have the same layout so I took it back and got my money back and got another one of these. My only complaint is I wish it came in a wireless model.

Although it does take a little getting used to, I love this keyboard. Very quiet and solid. The shortcut keys could be a little configurable, but will do for now. The one downfall is that the middle scroll lever (center of keypad) does not allow for scrolling web pages, only zooming in/out. Had to reconfigure left/right shortcut keys (silver buttons located below keypad) to use those for scrolling longer web pages. Other than that, the keyboard, as a whole, was a very worthwhile purchase. Will probably purchase 2 more for my other PCs...

At first I wanted a "cool" looking keyboard for my new custom gaming pc, but then again since this pc isn't only for gaming but also for productivity purposes I needed a keyboard that wouldn't hurt my wrists after a while and this keyboard was perfect! The leather or faux leather cushion is quite comfortable and soft. The way it's design it is something that you have to get used to but that really isn't much of a set back, so if the design makes you skittish fret not. I truly recommended this keyboard for those who are 8 to 12 hours on the computer and those who have wrist pain problems.

I've been using the MS 4000 keyboard for several years now. IMHO it is the most ergonomically comfortable keyboard available as long as it is used properly. ie. use the piece that elevates the front/wrist side of the keyboard and remove and discard the u-shaped pieces that some use to raise the back side of the keyboard. If you enjoy carpel tunnel syndrome, then go ahead and jack up the back of your keyboard and type with your wrists pronated instead of the natural wrist position achieved by having the keyboard angled away from you.

I love the ergonomics of this keyboard but the ongoing problem with the space bar sticking has rendered this keyboard useless to me. I actually purchased a second one because I was hoping that it would not have this issue, but it was far worse than the first one. Everything else is awesome, except for that issue. I would give it 5 stars, but since this is my second purchase, and I still do not have a working keyboard, I had to give it three stars.

have used this keyboard since 2010 and wish Microsoft keep the Original "Wireless " board as before rather than change. I had to purchase the Plug in in order to have the exact same one. This lasted over 8 years and still working but letters were wearing off and my grandchildren could not find the letters...hence the new b board. Helps with arthritis and Never had Carpal tunnel using this.

This is a replacement for a worn out keyboard of same model. Have been using the MS ergonmic keyboard for years at work and home. They get heavy use and some of the key actions just wear out. BB had an awesome sale on this , perfect timing. Get this if you want to avoid carpal tunnel. wife and myself have not had any wrist surgeries yet coworkers that can't adapt that continue to use the standard keyboard have had wrist surgeries.

It's responsive and comfortable. It took me a few hours to get accustomed to the ergonomic design but now I have no problems using it. It is helping me avoid the tiredness and stiffness I was getting in my hands and wrists with the standard keyboard. I chose a wired keyboard and mouse because I get tired of replacing batteries every 2-3 weeks in USB wireless units. I've been typing for well over 50 years, beginning with manual typewriters and progressing through to electrics and computer keyboards. This is probably the most comfortable of all of them.

This keyboard is the best for typing it forces you to hold your hands properly on the keyboard or the buttons don't work. It takes some getting use to but once you do get the hang of it you will never want to go back to a flat, straight keyboard again. I bought a case of these so I can put them on every computer and have a couple spare ones just in case. The only thing that has ever gone wrong with these keyboards is the letters/numbers wear off and you are left with blank keys, not a problem if you know your keyboard but for some this may be an issue. I hope they continue to make these keyboards as it is the only keyboard I will ever buy.

it works - but its flaws are way below Microsoft

Keyboard itself works fine. My issues with this keyboard are: So many unused buttons just clutter up the work space. No 'manual' came with the keyboard for programming the keys. Too many of the keys are 'redundant' as most software apps already provide the functionality. Keyboard color: I am over black keyboards. The black shows any and all dust, dirt - anything! Letter color vs keyboard color. I have to have a light above the keyboard for lettering to be clearly visible. Letters: Had it 3 months and the "E" is completely rubbed off. S, D, and C are half way gone.

This keyboard was recommended to my by my OHSA representative as the best tool to prevent re-injuring my hands (I have carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve neuropathy in both hands) Despite the fact that I work 8 hours a day on a computer, I have found that using the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard has allowed me to be productive and pain-free. I like the controls at the top and in the split between the letter sections too. I can launch the calculator app, zoom, change the speaker volume, and access favorites with a simple click on the keyboard.

I bought this keyboard to replace an essentially identical Microsoft keyboard that I wore out after years of heavy use. I need an ergonomic keyboard because I have back issues, and this does the job. I also like the extra A/V, mail, calculator and home keys that work well with Windows 10. I use the five programmable keys to quickly access programs and web sites that I use the most often. My one complaint is that the search key does not bring up a search engine in Windows 10. Instead, it links to something that Windows 10 calls "Feedback Hub".

This is the 3rd Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard I have owned. The manufacture date for this one is in June 2015. I believe it is an improvement over the one I bought in 2012 (also a Natural Ergonomic 4000). The improvements are: -requires less effort and pressure to strike the keys (especially the space bar) -The keys have a black matte finish (rather than the semi-gloss finish from the 2012 model) -The key noise is slightly softer than the 2012 model (the click noises are more muffled) I really enjoy this keyboard and the ability to program macros to the special function keys.

I work from home doing software development, and am a touch typeset (sorry no hunt & pecking for me) This is the second one I've had over the years, first one died after an incident with our bird, kid & liquids. Keyboard spacing works well for those with large hands, the palm rest doesn't get sticky or wear down over time. After a few years of use the key letters did wear off, primary on the ASDF & JKL; keys though. Never had any issues with it not working on the System, Windows 7,8,8.1,10 & Ubuntu Linux. all handle it without problems.

In my humble opinion, this is the best general purpose keyboard out there. I have owned corded and wireless from Microsoft, Logitech, and others and this one beats them all. It is reliable, has the best ergonomics, and the tactility is just right. On top of that, it stands up to heavy use and has no lag that some of the wireless models can develop. All in all, this is a fantastic choice. If you've never used an ergonomic keyboard, give this a go. Most folks that I have talked to can never go back to a flat keyboard again. So much more comfortable.
