As other reviewers have stated, the space bar gets stuck so I returned this keyboard.

Ended up returning it as I was using it for gaming and the spacebar required more effort than I expected to press. Probably fine for standard computer usage.

The keyboard is great and has a sturdy feel but the single spacebar that arched does not function really well. It takes more force to activate the space bar than any other key, making me miss spaces in typing documents. If the spacebar functioned correctly I would have kept the keyboard but Microsoft makes an Sculpt keyboard that is thinner with a divided spacebar and laptop keys that functions much better than this one does.

The keyboard is comfortable but the spacebar seems like it could break after a short period of time.

Well, I was excited for this keyboard, but I think I'm going to have to return it. The spacebar is awful! Too hard to press, while I type this... it is BEYOND frustrating, and apparently a known issue. I don't want to type anymore... this is painful.

This keyboard is great relief for my carpel tunnel. The only thing I don't really like is the space bar is so loud when used.

Good, reasonably priced ergonomic keyboard. Two things that prevents 5 stars: it's huge and the space bar is really stiff.

    Microsoft 4000 Keyboard

Microsoft to save 10 cents in manufacturing costs, opted for one super-wide spacebar using only one switch. When pressing the spacebar anywhere other than near the center, the side torque exerted on the swich results in binding, requiring excessive force to the point of nearly having to "smack" it. to activate the switch. If MS used two split space keys with their own individual switches, that would have resolved the problem. In all other respects, I found this to be a great keyboard for the price. . Unfortunately, a binding spacebar renders the keyboard all but useless. Until such time as MS redesigns the space bar, I'd avoid this keyboard. In all fainess, perhaps I just got a "lemon", but that aside, the design of the spacebar is problematic and a common complaint with this keyboard as I can now confirm. If MS would just redesign the spacebar as noted, then in my opinion, it would warrant a full 5 stars. As it is now, you would be better advised to find something else. Bob

I got a good deal on the keyboard. However, it didn't come with documentation as to what all the special keys do or how to program them. The spacebar hanging up occasionally is rather annoying too.

Great to use for extended periods. It takes some getting used to. The keys could be more tactile and the space bar is rather loud.

Seemed like a good keyboard from reviews, but in practice, not so much. Keys are very stiff, especially the space bar, and the angles of your hands makes it worse. Best Buy gave me no trouble returning it, very happy with their service.

It definitely helps with my wrist and arm fatigue from typing all day. The one thing I find annoying is that the space bar is really loud. It's not that bad if I hit it with my left thumb, but if you are right handed and accustomed to pushing the space bar with your right thumb, it's way louder than any other key.

The microsoft keyboard met my needs for an ergonomic option to help with fatigue from typing. There was no wireless option, which would have been perfect. The keys make a lot of hollow noise when writing and the spacebar sticks.

I got one of these keyboards for my home computer and after getting used to it, decided to replace the keyboard at work with the same model. My only complaint is the spacebar--which appears in others' complaints about this product, so I know it is not just me. It has actually loosened up some on my home keyboard with use, but it still takes a strong thumb to depress it.

I know it can be returned. I would prefer hot to have to take both the time to take it back, and the effort to reinstall it myself. We have a Geek Squad contract, so if a different arrangement to do so would work to have a new one installed, I would appreciate knowing how to get that done.

The key layout will take some getting used to and I had to replace mine (just after the warranty expired,of course) when the space bar was permanently depressed and I couldn't release it. The space bar may be a design problem because you have to press hard on it, not a good aspect if you're using this to ease stress on your hands. But overall, once you use this keyboard, it's very hard to go back to a normal one.
