Only average due to the installation

What can I say about Office? Everyone uses it, so if you want to be compatible you almost have to use it. The suite has all the features you expect, and performs as you would expect. But, you would think that by now Microsoft would have mastered the installation process. On my install, everything went fine until the end when it was about to place a rollback copy into the config.msi file. But because the config.msi file had become corrupted, the install failed. Not only did it fail, but after fixing the config.msi file I couldn't install the program over what was left of it. So, I tried to uninstall it, but it wouldn't uninstall because the installation program didn't support my language? English? It doesn't support English. As it turns out, it was East Asian that was missing. Other than my installation problems, it works great. But, I think Microsoft has gotten a little too big for their britches.

I just bought a new laptop and decided it was finally time for ma to update MIcrosoft office from the 98 version (i think). When i went to buy the program I didn't even realize that there was a new 2010 version available...so before I bought it I downloaded the free trial of it. My laptop had already installed the trial for the 2007 version on it so I was able to compare them side by side and they are pretty much the same except for the file menu (where you print, save, and open new documents from) at least on the MIcrosoft Word. My school has the 2007 version on all their computers and I was assured that I would be able to open and save documents on either version. The 2007 version takes some getting use to, but is great and convenient to use once you do get used to it. I would recommend this to a friend only if they didn't already have the 2007 version.

I have used these programs for many years, was a little disappointed in the cost and the fact that you don't get as many programs included as i have in the past. I would like to have the whole package but it's not worth the added expense for as much as I use it. (outlook, publisher, money, family lawyer, access, etc.). This purchase was to upgrade an outdated software that I have been using in the past.

Average at best. I delayed going to 2010 as long as I could because I liked that most everything that I use (lots of spreadsheets) had commands most often used on the main home screen of MS Office 2003. I have also experienced many lock ups, shut downs, lost work and error messages. Also requires or obligates use of mouse more than the old methods for me.

I tried to design a letterhead but was unable to complete because I could not find the 'text box' to change or add wording. Ended up with just a plain piece of paper with name and address of business. Then could not find where I 'saved' it. Very big learning curve. For me anyway.

I think Microsoft 2010 will be good to use once I become more comfortable with it. I came from 2003 to 2010 and find it very confusing right now. I don't understand what the point was to this change. I do like it and will enjoy it more once I use it more often.

My favorite was Microsoft Professional 2000? I have used 2007. It is good. I cannot find some of my choices on 2010. I do not know how to take out automatic numbering and bullets.

Microsoft Office 2010, doesn't have Outlook or Express for mail. It was disappointing to find that it was only on the professional verison. Why to make money Microsoft.

The program enhancements and upgrades to Office Home & Student 2010 are not worth the money spent.
