    Not worth the money

After purchasing a touch screen laptop/ tablet, I bought this to use. I verified my computer was surface pro as required. I use my computer for business and the premise of having a stylus would make life simpler. It did not work with mine or any other touchscreen that I tried it on. I took it back to best buy and exchanged it. The next one did not work either. I took my computer in the next time and exchanged it, to show it did not work. They said that my computer was not compatible, even though it states so on the box. I did not get a refund. Since i did not get to really use it I can not comment on its performance. But it felt cheap to the touch and was poorly made. I found it compared to a cheap plastic mechanical pencil, or at least it broke easily as one.

Best stylus I've found for Microsoft Surface Pro

I've tried 3 different stylii for use with the Microsoft Surface Pro: this one (which comes with the Surface Pro), the Wacom Bamboo Feel, and the Samsung Electronics Slate PC Digitizer Pen. I like the heft of the Wacom, but it doesn't have an erase function. (I make a lot of mistakes as I write.) The Samsung is OK, and does have an erase feature, but the right-click button is awkwardly placed, and I accidentally press it too often. I'm not completely happy with the placement of the right-click on the Microsoft Stylus, but I don't hit it as often as I do the one on the Samsung. I like this stylus a lot.

Just a warning, this will not work with the Surface RT. This is just a replacement pen for the one that comes with the Surface Pro. I bought one of these as a backup in case I lose the one that came with the Surface. I think the technology is amazing and since the pen is half the price of some capacitive styli, you can't really go wrong. I do find that after long periods of writing, the clip thing can start to bother my hand because it has a sort of sharp edge to it.

I love my Surface Pro for one reason. It handles all of my 200 slide long powerpoints and allows me to write on them while presenting. Everything an Ipad SHOULD do, but doesn't. To do this, I need the pen. It works as advertised, and I like that I can be holding it in my hand and still use my fingers on my device. My last one fell out of my bag in Accra, Ghana and I needed another immediately. Voila! Best Buy to the rescue.

This was an open-box purchase; the stylus did not work. The return was hassle free, but I could not purchase another one because they were out of stock. The store was very busy and I could not find a sales associate to help, so I left the store slightly disappointed, but will purchase another stylus because the drawing feature was one of my main reasons for purchasing a Surface. I will review again when I get a working stylus.

One of the Best Active Digitizer Pens

The only thing that keeps this pen from having 5 stars is the lack of a replaceable nib. Otherwise the friction on the top feels great, and the eraser feels good as well. Great tablet pen. Wouldn't recommend it if you already have a true Wacom pen, as the replaceable nibs are much better on those. but if you're in the market for a digitizer pen for half the price of the wacoms for a tablet with a wacom digitizer, this is a great choice.

It's just a touch pen...it is what it is. It's a surface touch pen. It's by Microsoft so it's as good as it's going to get as far as quality is concerned...but it's still plastic. I know they're trying to keep cost down...but it's still expensive and not made out of anything special. It would've been nice if they would've made it out of aluminum or something...it would validate the cost. It is what it is.

The Surface is not complete without this pen. I lost mine, and so I bought this one as a replacement after going a few month without. I noticed that my enjoyment in owning a surface increased significantly once I had my pen back. Now can see my notes in my own handwriting and highlight/annotate PDFs just like I would an actual piece of paper! my only complaint is that I wish it would tether to my device better somehow

The stylus pen makes moves on the tablet much easier than using your finger. I found some selection boxes don't work at all when hit by your finger but react to the stylus quite well. It is not 100% at doing what you want it to do on the first attempt but close. You may have to tap more than once for example. I would not want to use my Surface Pro tablet without one.

I purchased this incorrectly. It should have been the one with the rubber tip. When I previewed this on the advanced Surface tablet, it was just what I wanted in terms of textile grip-didn't slide around in my fingers and engaged the tablet well. I brought it back and exchanged for the same brand, just the correct tip. I'm a happy camper.

This is a decent input device for OneNote and use for e-mail and OS gesture manipulation. Have to watch how hard you press the nib on to the screen. Because the nib is plastic, if you push to hard it can easily scuff the screen. Use it with a screen protector and the experience is the same. It's a design issue not a product flaw!

I have had this surface since December 2013. This is my third stylus. I would try another but this is the only one on the market. If it is going to break this easy the price should be less then $29.99. That is my only complaint. Granted the Surface Pro Tablet is awesome and I would recpmend that to anyone.

    Replacement Pen - it's pricey

I lost my original pen that came with my surface pro tablet. This pen was an identical replacement --- I had to buy it since nothing else worked for marking on the screen. But the price is steep --- nearly $50 for a stylus! For that price, I wish Microsoft could figure out a way to help keep you from losing the pen so easily.

The clip is a little flimsy, and feels like it will break off if you stress it too much. It hasn't happened to me at all, but can't help that feeling. Has the standard button and "eraser" end for multi-function use. It's the OEM replacement in case you lost your first pen. It's a little pricey to replace, so don't lose it!

Noticed package looked previously opened so maybe Best Buy just put s previously returned touch pen back on the shelf?? Also see lot of hits on how the pen stops working so buyer be warned. Cant return fast enough. Looks like I have to give one star but trust me aint worth that.

This is the third pen I have purchased in the past 3 months. Its hard to keep up with. I know I am not the best at making sure its attached but its seems like it comes off easy when you are traveling. I have lost 2 already in the office... Doesn't make sense..otherwise its a great tool to have.

There must be some technology that is not apparent. This is one pricey stylus. It does not always interact with the Surface appropriately. It does not appear that an alternative is available. I would recommend it to a friend only because the Surface is much easier to us with a stylus.

I asked my best buy rep for a pen that would work with my surface RT and they double checked that I did not have a surface pro before selling me a surface pro pen. Needless to say it doesn't work. It's my own fault for being too lazy to check for myself. I should know better.

I purchased this Microsoft Surface Pen as a substitute for the Wacom stylus that comes with the Samsung ATIV 500t Windows tablet. The pen feels very natural to hold and has the eraser feature on the top of the pen. It works incredibly well with the Wacom enabled screen of the Samsung ATIV.

Bought a Windows surface RT for my daughter and she bought the pen which was not user friendly and not compatible with her surface so we thought we bought the wrong one. Returned and bought another one which she had trouble using it so again we had to return it. It was disappointing.
