This is a waste of money, Do not buy it. The just like the MS Wedge Mobile Keyboard, which equally does not work, the design itself is nice. But it does not work, and Microsoft knows it as is the case with the keyboard. It will pair, maybe, and if it does, it will work, maybe. Specifically, it will disconnect after Windows 8 laptops go to sleep, and may or may not connect again. To get a temporary fix, pairing again, changing some obscure system setting, or a full restart MIGHT work. It worked fine for a few weeks, and then MS probably pushed an update that caused a problem. They are well aware of the problem, as noted by their customer support. I tried everything: batteries, drivers, settings, calling support, online troubleshooting, online MS chat. Nothing solved the issue, which you can see is well-known if you go onto Microsoft's 'community' support page. This keyboard and a MS-made mouse gave me a lot of grief for several weeks. I just gave up and spent more money on a Samsung mouse, which paired immediately.

    Unusable, returning

Installed on Asus zenbook easily enough, went through driver config, and it was all downhill from there -- and I've heard of similar problems in many reviews I've read since installing. # -1 It freezes. Constantly, every couple of minutes. I have to turn it off and on again to unfreeze - this gets old very quickly. I researched the problem and went through some suggested troubleshooting - reinstalled USB drivers, Bluetooth drivers, etc. Fixed bluetooth config (to not allow computer shut it off to save energy). This was purely a hardware issue - with the mouse, not the laptop. #2 - The touchbar/wheel was very difficult to use - I could not make changes in sensitivity, and had to press hard enough to improve responsiveness, however this then triggered the clicker in the touchbar so I was constantly being redirected to another program. This was the worst mouse I've used in many years, and it's going back tomorrow. I'll stick with the old reliable wheel, and will try out the MS sculpt comfort mouse instead.

Overall a decent mouse, and really easy to pair with devices quickly. I have larger hands and it is on the low end of size that is usable for me, but should work well for anyone with medium to smaller hands. For all that, it's fairly comfortable to use. Except for the "touch strip". Like a lot of recent mice, instead of having a physical scroll wheel between the two buttons this mouse has a strip in that place that, in theory, works much the same way. In practice I find it only marginally responsive, and no amount of tweaking of the driver settings appeared to do anything to help. Perhaps it's the angle I'm using since my fingers are fairly long, but it just wasn't quite usable in the long run so I have gone back to a mouse with a physical scroll wheel.

    The mouse for Windows 8

I was on the fence about this one after reading both favorable and unfavorable reviews and best I could surmise is that some like it and some are not so impressed with it. I gave it a shot and can honestly say I love it. After connecting the device I opened the settings and tweaked it to respond in the ways I expect it to. I have a touch screen laptop but have an aversion to actually touching the screen. This mouse does it all for me and lets Win8 perform as it is intended to perform. The mouse is smooth as silk when using the four way scrolling feature. This is a great mouse especially for the price and I would definitely recommend it to Win8 users.

Great Bluetooth Mouse for General Use

Initial setup was easy, once I got a problem with my PCs Bluetooth drivers resolved. The touch pad, which replaces the usual scroll wheel, works really well once you get used to how it works, and allows both horizontal and vertical scrolling as well as providing a third mouse button. The haptic feedback (vibration) when scrolling is really cool, and makes using the mouse much more intuitive; it remains to be seen what impact this has on battery life. Overall a great mouse that doesn't cost much more than a conventional wireless laser wheel mouse, but doesn't require that annoying USB dongle to work, provided your device supports Bluetooth natively since it doesn't come with a Bluetooth dongle.

    Weak performance

This was my first Bluetooth mouse and whereas my Logitech cordless (with USB nano receiver) begins working almost instantly when turned on, I found this mouse took 3-4 seconds to respond when turning on and also when resuming use after the computer has been asleep. That's an eternity ;) My other complaints are that the touch pad "scroll bar" is difficult to control and the mouse didn't perform well on either a traditional padded mouse pad or a 3M Precise Optical Mousing Surface. I've had this mouse for 3 months now and am going to relegate it to the back-up box in case my old mouse fails.

When I was ordering the mouse, I was a little skeptical. But after I used it for a couple hours, its very nice to work with it. A surprise for me was the vibration in the touch strip that mimics the feeling of a moving wheel. Its nice to feel (I turned it off though since I felt I don't need it). Another surprise was that that strip is the middle button when clicked. But, based on where you click, it acts as 3 different buttons - the top part as page up, bottom page down, and middle as middle click. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

I got this for my new Windows 8 laptop. It set up quickly and worked very well. I have only had to change the batteries once since purchase, and I have used it almost nightly for 2 -5 hours while doing coding and photoediting. The only issue I have had with this is the scroll feature. The mechanism they use doesn't always pick up the scrolling. Sometimes when it does, it gets stuck and keeps scrolling to the end or start of the document. This might just be me and my usage, I don't know anyone else using it to compare with.

    Not Impressed

The Mouse was easy to setup. The size and shape fits the hand well. The cursor responds well and accurately to mouse movements on a variety of surfaces. The only real problem I have with the mouse is the scroll strip. The scroll strip is erratic, jerky and inaccurate. The scroll strip's performance does not come close to that of a scroll wheel. Bottom line, the poor performance of the scroll strip is a deal breaker for me.

This mouse is very smooth.. The scroll button is excellent and it's nice that it is bluetooth capable so you don't have to use one of your usb ports for it. Although I prefer a mouse that is more raised to fit the palm better I am very satisfied with this purchase. After I purchased mine, my son also purchased the same one and is also very happy with his.

High precision, never disconnected unexpected. Need to download the MS mouse management software to avoid vibration when using the middle key. Also, the shape of the mouse could be designed more ergonomically so that the thumb would be more comfortable. Although not perfect, it is the great Bluetooth mouse currently available on the market.

I am not a fan of the touch pads so I like to use a mouse. This mouse works flawlessly with the Pro. When combined with the touch keyboard you have a mini notebook for the road. Ideal for travel and no airport security hassles. If you like a touch pad then just get the touch keyboard and you have both in one form factor.

This is a touch oriented mouse and Bluetooth mouse. The touch features work well. Overall I am pleased with this mouse and would recommend it to anyone looking for a Bluetooth mouse, even if not looking for a touch mouse. This mouse is far better than the Microsoft wedge. It makes touch navigation easy and intuitive.

This mouse is smaller than my last mouse which means it fits in the computer bag a little easier. It is not as bulky as some other mice. Occasionally the scroll pad sticks, the fix is just push the scroll pad down and it works fine. I love the fact that you can scroll in all four directions. Great Mouse.

This mouse bluetooth is easy to connect to (why are some bluetooth devices so difficult?) And even if havent connected it in ages, the mouse picks up again once my Mac tries to find it. Comfortable fit for hand. Good little mouse.

If you let it sit for about 10 minutes it just will not work. You have to move the curser using the touch pad then maybe it will work. Sometimes I have to go to "devices and printers" to get it to work. A real pain.

I got my mouse free with the purchase of something else, so for what I paid it works great! I'm not sure how much this mouse is normally, so I'm not sure if it worth the price, but like I said, it works.

This is a good working mouse. Works on tons of surface types. The scrolling is a touchpad that scrolls either front to back or side to side and the scrolling is simulated with a vibration.

I love bluetooth, the ability to be wireless with occupying a USB port is great. It is a comfortable mouse and works great. the only thing I don't like is that it is not rechargable.
