Does everything i need and then some. Fast, light, build quality is fantastic, and it's easy to get it around town. Looked at a lot of different options before settling on this and i am so glad i went this way.

this will not be a technical review. It will be purely an emotional one. I purchased the surface book for my wife. Initially I intended to get her something inexpensive like a chromebook. She generally only uses facebook and watches youtube videos. But after looking at the surface book, it was too gorgeous not to buy. We have several apple products and this appeals in the same way. My wife also fell in love with it and now uses it on a daily basis, which she never did with our desktop. She detaches the keyboard and uses it like she used her ipad. Seems the best of both worlds. The power of a high end laptop and the convenience of a tablet. We have now paired it with a bluetooth surface mouse. Great combination.

I am pleased with the Surface Pro because I need something that is highly mobile for workshops, etc. but also useful as a laptop when I want that. It is fast and the internet moves well on it.

It is a very quick unit. So far I love it. My only issue I have had is a non responsive keyboard and trackpad. But that was because the screen wasn't pushed all the way into the base.

The Surface Book with Performance base does it all. It's plenty powerful for work, powerful enough for gaming (as long as you don't need maxed out details), and the detachable screen has come in handy more than once - so much so I am thinking of selling my iPad Pro 12 inch. One underrated feature is the keyboard feels GREAT. I can type on it all day. The 3x2 dimensions screen makes it feel larger than it actually is. The only drawback is that I have found the battery life to realistically be 4-6 hours. I don't know how to get the advertised 16 hours out of it. But to be fair, only Apple devices seem to fully delivery on battery life promises. If you are a Windows person, this is as complete a device as there is. Not cheap, but fair value for the functionality.

My daughter was graduating college with a degree in graphic design. We were looking for a computer which could compute for personal needs (such as e-mail and writing letters on occasion) but significantly for use with graphic design and artistic abilities for our college grad. We had researched the Surface Book approx. 6 months earlier - we had hoped the price would drop (it didn't) but she seems to like it a lot. In my opinion as an IT person who has built and bought many pieces of hardware, it is PRICEY. However, since I'm not an artist and don't use it, I can't say whether the extra price is worth it or not as a result of the robust features it does offer to people who will use it.

Love this laptop/tablet! Very portable great battery life. This is not the most powerful laptop but it is great for everything that I use it for. Great for all office apps for streaming video. Build quality is great, image quality of the screen is great. I have come to love the facial recognition used to log into Windows. Everyone that I show it to love the pen and how quick and easy it switches from laptop to tablet and back. I love how it is smart enough to ignore my hand resting on the screen when writing with the stylus.

I had my doubts after years of with my MacBook Pro, but after a day with my new Surface Book, my doubts have been alleviated. The craftsmanship is there, and the features more so. The trackpad is the one item that comes up short when comparing to the MacBook but it is still the best trackpad not made by Apple. Any shortcoming is more than made up for with the Touch Screen and Surface Pen. So far I'm loving my new Surface Book.

Surface Book was purchased for travel and being able to support processing travel photos through Lightroom and Photoshop. The I7 processor and dedicated graphics card help with those applications. I like the two in one feature, but have not used it that much so far. My only beef is the keyboard lighting, which is hare to see during the day. I have not tried to tinker with any settings or even know if that is possible

I had a perfectly good 17" laptop that I thought would be perfect. After lugging it around for 18 months, disappointed in battery life and weight, the Surface Book, "Surfaced". The screen on the Surface book is every bit as easy to read as on the 17", and the battery life is 5 times longer. I am using the tablet option during sales presentations and it has proved to be more useful than I thought. I haven't learned how to use the pen function but, but I will when I have time to sit down and experiment. All in all I an very happy with my Surface Book and I haven't even begun to use all the features.

I was finally tired of my MacBook Pro ( it is a great computer for some ). I wanted something different and did my research. I found the new Surface Book Performance Base. It has a great design, feels amazing with an easy to use keyboard. The fact that I can run Windows 10 and Tablet mode gives me the ability to detach my screen with its amazing quality and use my fingers or the Pen which is flawless.
