Perfect for School and play
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome. Powerful. Sleek. An amazing machine. I purchased the surface book for school and play. I am a techy-person. Have all the cool gadgets but when it comes to studying and taking notes, I like to do it the old fashion way, pen, and paper. OneNote is perfect for this and it comes already installed. It does a pretty good job with converting handwriting to text. Lightroom and Photoshop can run at the same time with just a little lag. I give it a 4 instead of a 5-star rating because it gets HOT and fast, and when the screen is disconnected from the keyboard base the battery life is less than 2 hours which can be mildly annoying when elbows deep into a project. Other than that, I have been loving my surface book. its slim and lightweight design means I can put it in my bag and go with ease.

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This surface laptop is easy to set up and use. It’s a bit heavier than getting the tablet and attaching a lighter keyboard. The added weight gives it a sturdy, durable feel.

This powerhouse is worth every penny!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the multi-functionality of this device and how light the screen is when you remove it from the keyboard. There is a lot of power packed into this travel size laptop, so it gets the job done even while on the go.

Great laptop for school
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using this laptop for school for about a year it's held up nicely and the touch screen with pen definitely help with note taking. However, the fans run a little loud sometimes.

Mostly good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the detachable reversible screen is very handy and works well to transform the full laptop to just a tablet, the battery life in the separated unit is poor. However, if you keep it attached, the main battery combined with the lesser one in the screen unit lasts a good while. I do find that the touch screen is often unreliable when trying to shut an open window even if trying to do it with the pen that comes with the Surface. I have had several iPads and think the touch screen functions much more reliably but the available memory is pathetic if you want to load anything large like lots of RAW photos, which is why I went to the Surface for traveling with my camera.

great for showing work to clients

EXCELLENT!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE my surface!! The only reason why I feel I need ro give it 4 stars is because it seems to have a glitch (occasionally) when I remove the tablet from the keyboard. The only way to stop it is to force it to restart. If it keeps happening then I'm going to take it in to find out why I'm having issues. Battery life is ok. Wish the tablet mode (diconnected from keyboard) had better battery life. Not as long as advertised, but for what I need, it wirks fine. App store has as lot or catching up to do with the android, but at the same time it does a lot more than my old tablet. This does fit my needs so much better!! I'm also a student. This this is wonderful for notes!!!

Great at first, then junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in a toss-up between purchasing this and a similarly priced Mac. While this offered many options that I thought I would enjoy (two-in-one design, detachable screen, reversible screen, pen), I found that I used nearly none of these features with how I interact with a computer - mostly business and multimedia creation. While these may be great functions for others, I could have gotten by spending $1000 less without those features. But, that is not why I give this product a poor rating. It gets hot. And with that heat, came battery expansion two months after my two-year warranty expired. I have had to accommodate the heat over the past years, and now I am worried that this thing is going to explode. The bottom, which is glued on, slowly started separating from the rest of the laptop. After just three years of use that I would consider normal (two video processors, i7 processor, and 16 GB ram), it is completely falling apart. There is a cm gap across the front and a half cm gap on the sides. Googling this issue made it seem fairly common, with the common reply is to take it back if it is under warranty. There are great features, but a disaster waiting to happen is not what you want when you drop the money for a Microsoft product.

overall satisfied. Better than an iPad not as sat
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first: I bought this device so I could do 3D modeling work on the go. I had to have a discreet graphics card for that task and this product delivered on that front. While the screen looks great for its size it's kind of in a no mans land with 3k resolution maximum. More than 1080 not quite 4K. The biggest problem is that it suffers from the classic not quite one thing and not quite another problem which results in neither goal fully achieved. I prefer to use in laptop mode because when you disconnect the screen from keyboard you lose the extra battery and discreet graphics card. Overall it's good enough. Just not quite there Microsoft.

Excelent features and life of battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had Macs for years but found that this has all the features of a Mac that I enjoy plus the ease of use with my windows desktop programs. For me it was a good decision.
