The magnets are really strong. Love the tablet feature I can just take it easily on my bed and the surface pen is useful with the tablet feature also. Overall this is a great laptop. It's just kind of expensive for the higher speced models. But if they're on sale and you had the money I'd say go for it.

I absolutely love my Surface Book 2 and I use it for for work and for browsing at home. The detachable screen makes it easy to continue browsing without lugging a heavy laptop around, but without losing the large screen size which you do with the iPad! Highly recommend!!!

I use the surface pro pen to take notes in class. I use the voice recorder to record classes. Since it is windows based, it runs full versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. This means class assignments don't have formatting errors. The only down side is batter life is short when used as a tablet.
