This is a great machine for my daughter that started high school. It’s on the pricy side (why I gave 4 stars instead of 5). but having a windows based computer made it so easy to integrate with her school. Machine is powerful and compact that I’m going to get one myself.

Gave the computer as a birthday present in August and the person still talks about how great it is. Fast, light, and sleek design.

Decided to treat myself with a laptop I would use for work and home. I’ve been drawn to the surface commercials for quite a while and I decided to actually do some research. Spent about an hour with a blue shirt who helped me make my decision. The computer is easy to transport, versatile and does everything I need it to. The detachable screen/tablet mode is fantastic for inventories and other mobile tasks at work and the whole book is great for word processing and spreadsheets. Really glad I chose the Surface Book.

With my new Surface, I have all the features of a MacPro I had been accustomed to with my MacBook PRO (2012) (PLUS MORE!) I am still getting acquainted with the differences, but so far, it has been a smooth transition. I was concerned going from an I7 to an I5 would be a mistake. Perhaps too soon to know. The Solid State and Using Google across all my devices, offers the various ports I am seeking, and has a detachable touch screen (which I rarely use). My old Mac had given so much heat it from the base, it became uncomfortable to hold on the lap. the weight o of the Surface, however, puts the unit a bit off balance, A slightly smaller keyboard was another adjustment but the lighter weight is another plus. The lighted keyboard turns on when needed, saves battery when not in use. I am so happy with this machine! So much more convenient to bring to conferences. I added a protective plastic cover, which added weight, but ensures added safety. A strong machine, many features I have not yet put to use. I wanted a magnetic power connect, audio port and enough ports, including the USB (2) ports was a must have for external back ups. This machine is as close to a MAC (without being a Mac) and meets my needs. I am not a gamer. I've had this machine for about a month and do not miss my 6 year old MacBook Pro,

I freaking love this thing! It's fast, diverse, has so many little features that make my life easier from taking notes to recording videos and just browsing the web! The keyboard feels great, the touch screen is super responsive, the batter life lasts all day, I don't have any complaints with the Surface Book 2 yet! If you're a student looking for a long lasting laptop well into the future, I would recommend this product!

Not as heavy as expected, pretty sleek design, sound quality is sufficient, and it can even handle a few pc games on decent quality.

This is a great machine. In the end I returned it because I preferred having 16g and 512 on my hard drive. The surface pro 6 is a much better value at that level, and it is also a great machine. BUT -- the pro 6 didn't give me nearly the battery life in the real world that I need. So ultimately I settled on the book 2 with 512 and 16gig, which costs a fortune because that model also has a dedicated graphics card that I don't need. But I did need the 10 hours + of real world battery time the pro 6 did not give me. I think for most people, a less powerful version of the pro 6 is probably the better choice than the less powerful book 2, unless you really need the battery life. The pro 6 is just so portable and easy to use/carry with a great screen (though smaller than the book 2 screen). Both are excellent, but different. Having tried HP, Dell, Asus, Acer and Lenovo as well as these Microsoft Surface devises, I have to say the surface products are outstanding. Screens are fabulous and the overall build quality and feel is just flat out better than the others.

Having a MacBook Pro for about 8years, The Surfacebook has really topped my expectations. Everything from the design to the performance is great. The keyboard is also a lot better than the new MacBook pro keyboard, for there more of a bounce, that the macbooks flat keyboard. I use this primary for photography work, and homework. I don't think I would go back to mac.

Bought it for school after returning my inspiron 2 months after buying it. I love the microsoft book, its fast powerful and has no fan! The programs I was running would have the inspiron overheating in an hour, i'm on this for hours at a time with no issues. Even my husband was impressed and is using it more then he uses his macbook!

My wife and I love it. The options are endless. Very powerful machine. Fastest computer weve ever owned. Would recommend this to anyone.

I use this computer for school to take notes, exams, presentations, etc. Does everything I need it to do. Battery lasts all day. Not heavy and great to use in tablet mode (with or without keyboard still attached). I had the Microsoft Surface Book, and there is no huge difference here except the size of the hard drive.

Replaced an older, heavier and slower laptop with the Surface Book. It lives up to everything advertised. One of the best screens I've seen - razor sharp and flawless color. It's used in a very demanding court environment and has worked perfectly since day one. Also, it's really thin and light.

I always said I would stick to apple for my laptop choice but this new purchase has been excellent! Light weight, large screen, detached for note taking and watching videos and easy to use! I was nervous not having apple basic features but it was easy to transition with the help of cortona.

My daughter has used the surface pro for the last three years in college and high school. Her only complaint is that for the pro you need a fairly flat surface to work on. We purchased the surface book and it is the best of the surface pro in laptop form. Fast and quiet, it is just what she wanted.

I was never a big fan of the surface models because I never thought of them as fully functioning computers/laptops but this one definitely changed my mind. The versatility is one of the key features that made it most attractive. Great choice for a student like myself and the battery life is amazing.

I was in the market for a new laptop and I was toying between a Mac or Surface Pro. The Surface Pro has lot of design features and you can detach the screen and use as a tablet. There are so many design features I'm still learning them all. No regrets on my purchase.

Love this computer, it has a great battery life. It looks and feels expensive. I never hear the fan, I don't even know if it has one, But it never over heats. It's fast on the start up and really just works well. Only downside is the price.

Overall I am very happy with this laptop. It has all the programs I wanted and is easy to use. I like how it detaches to be used as a tablet. The one downside is it has no HDMI port. I use for work and it’s a big inconvenience. Otherwise great product.
