Customers appreciate the Surface Book 2's ease of use, versatile tablet mode, and excellent battery life. Many also praise its performance and elegant design, though some find the weight to be a positive attribute. However, the high price point is a common concern, along with the limited screen size and port selection for some users. This is a great little machine! I didn't think I ever needed a tablet that used a stylus, but now that I have one, I realize what I was missing! Being able to handwrite something just as I would on paper is amazing. Having it convert to text is great as well! And the fact that it easily separates into a tablet is really, really awesome. It's fairly speedy and does everything I need it to (play the occasional game, do work, etc).

I bought this model for the extra long battery life. It does not disappoint. My only complaint is that windows often doesn’t let me eject the screen from the keyboard. You have to eject through software and there is no other way to detach. I often have to restart the machine to get eject to work. Even when it does work it’s kind of a slow process. So this is mainly a laptop rather than tablet.

I have had every iPad made. But, I needed something that is good for work but can act like a tablet. This computer is an extremely fast and high powered computer. But, I can remove the screen and use it like a tablet. On airplanes I can watch movies during takeoff and landing because of the tablet mode. I am very pleased and highly recommend this computer!

This laptop is amazing. Sure it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for. It is super fast and only takes few seconds to boot up. It doesn't come with all the bloatware that you'll find on other systems. The case is well made and doesn't have that plastic, flimsy feel. Battery life is amazing and the display graphics are super to look at and use.

I first got the low-tier version of this device, which comes with a 7th gen Intel i5 CPU and an integrated GPU. It’s a great product for media consumption, office, and some minor 2D design work. However, working with two or more Adobe programs at the same time, while also running Chrome with multiple tabs open, and even more apps for playing music and chatting, was simply too much workload. So I got this version instead, and it’s not just the perfect match for MY workload, but also gives you the best bang for your buck! The dedicated GTX 1050 GPU isn’t just way more powerful than the integrated one, but also comes with its own 2GB of video memory. This means, that the CPU doesn’t have to share the 8GB system memory, which is important if you plan on running multiple memory demanding programs at the same time. If this still isn’t powerful enough for you, instead of going for the 16GB version of this model, I’d suggest getting the 15” model instead. Not only does it come with the additional system memory, but also with an even more powerful GPU. Either way, you will get a well-built device. The keyboard feels good and has enough travel, and the trackpad is smooth and accurate. I would even go so far and say that both are good enough to write a 50+ pages thesis without feeling the need for an external keyboard and mouse. The speakers are also good, and deliver clear sound, but unfortunately they’re not the loudest. Depending on your needs, you might want to consider getting an external Bluetooth speaker. Last but not least the screen: With its aspect ratio of 3:2 at a resolution of 3000x2000 pixels, its high color accuracy and a peak brightness of 410 nits, this is simply one of the best screens out there. You will love it! Now I know this device is very expensive, and if you don’t use the 2-in-1 feature, you will definitely get more for your money with other laptops, such as the new Razer Blade 15. However, if you are a creative or you simply enjoy being able to de-attach the screen, and even if it’s just to read articles in vertical mode from the comfort of your couch, I say: Go for it. The Surface Book 2 is a great device, and probably the best 2-in-1.

I bought this one because of the dedicated graphics option. It works great so far with adobe photoshop and indesign. As a student , i wanted something that runs all my programs and is light enought to take with me evrywhere. This fits the bill. I can’t wait to get the pen for it!

Bought this for my partner and they love it. They are in stem courses and said it works with multiple applications open at a time I.e. MATLAB, PTC creo, autocad with no issues. Quick and nifty laptop. Purchased with the pen as well and they are able to write and keep notes very organized. Only downside would be the small memory space but buying an external drive would solve the issue.

I researched several different options and different versions of this product. If you are reading this to get benchmark scores and processor counts, wrong place. From the press of the power button to operational less than 15 seconds. Love the detachable “tablet” however, functionality of the tablet is a bit behind the iPad. The screen based keyboard is a little cumbersome. Processor speed is amazing. Graphics are superb (although I am not a gamer). For the money I am certain it keeps pace with Apple products at a substantial savings and none of the compatibility issues with the Microsoft suites. Highly recommend.

I went in expecting to buy something a lot cheaper than this. But the gentleman was very knowledgable about Photography and when he found out I was a photographer he showed me a few examples that had the storage and the speed to handle what I needed. What sold this for me was that you could disconnect the top and use it as a tablet with an accesory pen for detailed editing etc and it's a touch screen. It is an amazing computer and Im still learning it all. Very please and highly recomend this for anyone who needs a lot of space and a quick computer. It has many advanced features for anyone in a similar field.

I went through 4 "bad" laptops in 3 months from bestbuy before finally ending with a surface book 2. Now, while my frustration was great, it was beneficial in the end. If I had not gone through what I did I wouldnt have been ae to get this product and it is simply the best at what it does. I've never had a machine that was so capable. It handles anything I throw at it from CAD to gaming. It won't play AAA titles on max settings, but it is sufficient. The detaching screen and pen (sold separately) have some many advantages and work better than any other 2-in-1. Honestly, I will never look for another laptop; going forward I will always own one of these as my laptop.

Love this device, coming from a SP4 last years model upgraded to this one. LOVE IT! The tablet with Keyboard is a tad heavy but it packs a punch with extra battery and GPU power but without the Keyboard it is crazy light weight and easy to use. I love the size, the power and the screens resolution all great pieces of tech. As a person in IT I am on it a lot and I have had no complaints about it. Watching movies on an airplane, gaming a little, chatting with friends and family. Great device.
