Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Surface Book 2-in-1's beautiful screen, ease of use, lightweight design, and solid performance. Many appreciate its portability and sleek aesthetics, although some experienced issues with the keyboard and battery life. The high price point was also a recurring concern for some buyers. While most found the device to be a worthwhile investment, potential buyers should be aware of these potential drawbacks.

We have just started to use our Surface Book but so far are very impressed with the new Windows 10 operating system and also the Surface Book hardware. The Book boots up in a matter of seconds and the screen resolution and colors are amazing. We also looked at the Surface Pro 4 but decided on the Book as this fit our needs better. Today I will load the Office 2016 suite and then we will be up and running for e-mails. Overall we are very pleased with our purchase, feel it is worth the money, and would purchase this again in the future if we need to upgrade. We have no complaints in regards to the Surface Book.

They have ALOT of work to do on various issues. I don't know what their quality control is like.....but my keyboard strokes often don't input at all...entire words- and my screen will freeze up and the processing speed is as if it is a 1990's computer. *****They need to have good program tutorials (for drawboard, flipboard, fresh paint) that you do not need an internet connection for.

I bought the Surface Book to replace my gaming laptop for school/portability/gaming purposes, and it has performed marvelously. The high resolution screen and pen-functions make it amazing for schoolwork and note-taking, the form factor and decent battery life work great for portability, and the integrated graphics card runs just about anything I throw at it(albeit, at a lower than native resolution, and higher-end games won't run on max graphics). I highly recommend this if anyone needs a great device for school, but also wants to do a decent bit of gaming as well.

This is the best tablet / laptop I have ever owned, hands down. I am not a suitable judge of whether the cost outweighs the utility or not, I will admit. I perhaps could have gone a step lower, or could have gone with just a laptop or lower-end tablet to achieve my streaming and gaming needs... but I am completely satisfied with my Surface Book. I didn't need/want the 500GB SSD, but wished the 2nd highest tier had a 16GB option. I probably should have splurged on the full shebang, but the Book 2 is on the horizon. I find the detachable keyboard is very durable and really makes it feel like a laptop at any time. I was truly pleased with the tablet on its own. It's, understandably, heavier than any previous tablet I've used, so resting it on my chest to watch while laying in bed has turned a little violent against my face, if I could be honest, ha! I really don't have a single complaint. It's expensive, but I made a calculated effort to save and be able to comfortably pay it off within 3 months using the 12 month financing. Highly recommend!

At first this laptop had some issues with the software, but after the recent updates it is much better now. My only problem is where they placed the earphone jack, the cords bothers me when I m typing.

This is without question the smoothest laptop I've ever used. Very fast..really nice build. The pen is so simple and a nice addition. Don't remove the screen often but it is a cool feature.

I really like that Microsoft is creating cool products now. This can be used primaraly as a laptop but also as a standalone tablet. This is definitely part of the evolution of personal computing. The only major gripe I have is that it is too thick. Since I travel a lot, I can not use this as my primary machine since it is too big, bulky and heavy. I will uses a MacBook ultra netbook instead.

Purchasing this Surface Book, I never really thought I'd use the fancy touch screen, pen input, or detachable screen all that much. I was sold on the high quality screen, long batter life, and discrete graphics. I couldnt have been more wrong though, and have used my device to go funtiojally and fully paperless. For choir, my music is always close at hand on the device and the monitor portion is light enough to hold for a whole rehearsal. The base is robust and so is the hinge (which definitely draws looks). I use OneNote to stay organized and the included stylus makes highlighting and diagraming a breeze. You can read all about the specs, but after using this device for a month, I can honestly say it is the highest quality laptop I have ever used to date. If there were one flaw it would be storage and inability to upgrade. The SSD in this device should in theory be easily upgradable, but the device is nearly impossible to disassemble. The ram is not upgradable either as it is on the motherboard. There are fans in this device, so be mindful of encapsulating cases which could impinge airflow. When I realized the vent locations, I was a bit taken aback as I had thought the device to be potentially more water resistant. Perhaps a newer version will offer such features. The included SD slot does offer expandabiluty to 256 GB microSD with flush converter currently and greater capacities are in the pipeline, so there is that. If you want a workhorse computer that gets attention, get this computer.

So far this is by far one of the coolest laptops I've ever had the luxury of working on. I bought it for personal use, and it has def been a while since I bought a computer, so there's so much I didn't understand and realize, until I began shopping around and now I understand how having a smaller GB drive makes more sense, and keeps $$ in my pocket! The new MS Office if you buy the yearly updates, which is highly recommended than the one time buy, bc it not only keeps you up to date, are able to put up to 5 users, but you also get 1 TB of cloud space, called OneDrive. That to me is worth it on it's own. Trying to slowly but surely understand Windows10 OS. But the laptop/tablet is amazing. If I don't want my keyboard with me, I simply detach the screen, and walaa, I have a tablet, yet it's a full functioning, computer in my hands. If you're in the market for a new laptop, I highly recommned this one....mind you I have always been a Dell kind of girl, and thought I knew what my next laptop would be, until I started playing with this in the store. BUY IT NOW! Totally worth it!
