Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Surface Dock 2, particularly its USB-C connectivity, ease of use, and overall performance. Many appreciate its compatibility, various ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. However, some customers find the price a bit high, and others feel it is too bulky. A few have also noted concerns regarding refresh rates and power delivery to USB devices.

I bought two of these, to go with the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop my kids have. They work as expected, each with a 4K monitor, there is not much else to say about them. At full price there are better values to be found, if you Surface product is recent enough to have a USB-C port, but it is a great value when on sale.

Works great with my surface laptop studio. I’m able to connect to my Wacom monitor, software dongle, wireless mouse, and other items. It didn’t work with my thunderbolt audio interface, but that wasn’t totally surprising. It’s a bit expensive, but it’s a solid unit. I’m a fan.

Easy to configure. The hardest part is unpacking the box. Plug in the external and build incredibly complex Excel Spread sheets with multiple tabs. One can see everything. Then plug into the enet network and print away. All without opening the manual! The Dock unleashes the full potential of the Surface Laptop and Surface Book!

Purchased this to complete my COVID setup, and probably the best purchase I've made during these times. I have two large widescreen monitors plugged in over USB-C. All available via a single cable, the Surface mag-safe cord. Absolutely lovely...

I bought this because it is a docking station but also serves as the charging cord. Nobody likes a cluster of cords so I was happy to eliminate the charging cord from my desk.

The Best Buy salesman took me that I needed this because my new surface laptop did not have the USB ports I needed. It does connect well but is too bulky to travel with and does not have an SD card slot to use.

Does pretty much the same thing as the original Surface Dock with the exception that this dock now has 2 USB type C ports which replaces the previous 2 mini display port ports. Works well but is a tad on the expensive side.

This is a great dock to have if you are working with additional monitors. I use USB C to display port cables. Have hard wire to internet. It's great. It's little on the expensive side. I got mine on sale plus discount which is why I grabbed it.

As much as I like the Surface Studio laptop, when I'm working on it at home, I want to be able to attach accessories (a mouse, a large monitor, etc.) The Surface Dock 2 makes this a snap and provides a variety of ports (USB3, USB-C, Ethernet).

Only two of the USB C ports are both video/data. So three screens are possible if you use the surface books attached screen. Three screens externally however are not possible which is what I had bought this for after being told by Best Buy that it would work. Also the lack of anything but USB seaport is a little disappointing as it does not allow for backwards compatibility of other even one or two year old devices. Build quality is nice however and this thing is extremely heavy. It was easily able to handle the power consumption needs. Way overpriced as well compared to other devices on the market

Works well with my Surface book 1 and Surface book 3. Bought on sale so a great value. One should read the spec's first to see if it meets their needs. plenty of USB and DP ports. Quick and easy to setup even without the instructions.

I love the new surface Dock 2 because it has the USB-C ports on it, meaning you now no longer need a special adapter (Mini DV Adapters) to make your monitors or other hardware work with the dock. It also charges my iPhone 11 Pro Max quickly with my USB-C cable while I work at my desk.

I upgraded from a Surface Pro 4 to a Surface Book 3. I like having the Dock 2 so when I travel there is only one connection to take my computer with me. I have 3 printers, a second monitor, an external drive and a few other devices connected to the dock. Everything works fine.

I game on my Surface book 2 and wanted a good dock to boot. The first dock wouldn't charge my laptop while I was gaming resulting in a net drain on the battery. This Dock 2 ... fixed that issue! All the power and all my usb stuff connected... in one simple connector. Love this.
