Decent dock, but issues with certain USB-C cables

I am giving 4 out of 5 stars because these are very finicky in regards to which USB-C monitor cables work with these. I have used other USB-C docks and do not have the issues as I do with these Microsoft Docks.
Save yourself time and just buy the Microsoft USB-C HDMI/DP adapters. Pricey, but work.

great product for surface laptops to increase utility, love the amount of ports and charging capability; occasionally ports on dock will not connect with computer and it must be reset

It's okay as a dock for the Surface Pro 7. It would be better if it had HDMI ports so you wouldn't need conversion cables. For that price it should.

Works very well. A dock should just be something you forget is there and that's the case with this one. No problems, performs what it's meant to do.

I purchased this tool because my Surface is not equip with the amount of adapters needed overall. I use a collapsible mouse which requires one slot to remain occupied at all times. This being my situation, ( not my only one) forced my decision to make another healthy investment. The product is sturdy, solid in weight and works as if invisible. I have no issue. My wish is that the Surface provided more entry ports thus eliminating an expensive appendage.

This dock was just what we needed to further unlock the potential of my daughter's Surface for work and school. Small form factor, yet allows her to connect monitors and other peripherals. It tucks away nicely on her desk leaving her more desk space to work with. Worth the purchase.

Wires frayed and connector showing wires. I've had for 2 years, it's clunky to travel with and too many possibilities of disconnects while you think it's charging. There has to be a better way. I can say it charges, 5 stars for that reason only, the other issues makes it too bothersome to suffer.

Microsoft docking stations work best with Surface. I have a non-Microsoft dock at work and it causes a lot of lag.
