Allows 2 montiors via mini display port. Adapters may be needed for DVI or HDMI montiors. Also provides a LAN port and additional USB. Comes in 2 pieces one with the ports that attaches to the Surface. And one for power.

This is a great accessory that allows me to hook up monitors and additional usb accessories. Definitely a must have if using it additionally in an office setting

Needed to hookup large monitor and wireless keyboard/mouse combo. All worked great and hooks up through the power jack and still leaves me the single USB port for another device.

Excellent dock, works as advertised. Surface Book 2, Surface Pro, and two generations of Surface Laptop have all been used on this model of dock with perfect results!

I have greatly improved performance by replacing my old desktop with a new Microsoft Surface 4 and using this Docking Station with my large screen monitor and full size keyboard.

I replaced my desktop at work with a surface Pro and this dock. It automatically connects my monitor, printer, etc., so I have no idea that I'm working off a laptop. Highly recommended.

I own two of these for the different locations I offfice out of. They both work great but just make sure you only use the Microsoft adapters. I've found that other brands tend to not work.

The Surface dock is one the best accessories you can buy for the Surface lineup. The dock charges faster, has a few more USB ports, 2 Ethernet ports! This will be your work horse.

Pro: Easy to set my Surface Pro down on the desk and start working Con: The USB mouse receiver seems stuck in the dock. Not sure if it a tight fit on the mouse receiver or the surface.

If you have a surface, you need to have one of this. I use when it get to the office I get everything connected instantly. 2 monitors, all my usb items ready.

The Surface Pro is a great device, but from time to time you need additional USB external devices, external monitors, and an ethernet cable. This device takes care of those issues.

I have used one of these at work for a year and have had no complaints. This does what it is supposed to do and the price was good.

The first unit would not work with my display using a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable on either output from the dock. I did all of the driver / firmware updates with no effect. Geek squad could not help as they did not have ability to test this setup and had no suggestions beyond what I had already tried. Contacted Microsoft support via chat and the support person was very helpful and worked for an hour with me trying to get it to work and then authorized a replacement. Note that I was impressed with support as he did not ask me to repeat what I had already done and was respectful. Sent a prepaid shipping label and I had the replacement in 7 days. Replacement works fine, no issues. Thanks Microsoft support.

I highly recommend this product. When I am in my office I connect my Surface Book to large screen monitor with this. It is very easy to connect and works very well. Highly recommend.

With the one USB port on the Surface Pro 4, it's a pain to attach peripherals. This allows for 4 additional USB ports, Ethernet and Video. It is a great addition to the Surface.

Okay Guys, if you're on the Microsoft Surface or Apple ride, just expect to pay more for everything. But the unit does what is it suppose to do, so I can't knock it too much.

We use this to dock our surface pro at work and it's a dream! A bit pricey but I appreciate that Microsoft is making their own stuff now! Better than dell!

I'm on my second one of these. They are low profile and convenient, but 2/3 of the USB ports on my first one burned out in about a year and a half. Wait until on sale or get a lower price match.

It did what it was supposed to do. It charged, it expanded the usb slots. Ran into problems with things that require bus power being plugged into this thing. Didn't work well for external hard drives.
