When I first plugged in the docking station I could not get it to work with my surface book which was very surprising considering that they both were Microsoft products. However, after troubleshooting the web I was able to find a firmware update (by Microsoft) for the surface dock which after updating allowed me to project my surface book screen to my external monitor. If the surface dock would have worked out of box, then I would have given this review 5-stars.

Great to centralize your wires and keep it clean

I got 2 27'' monitors and 1 29'' monitor, I was able to use all three monitors with out any issue. Additional has plenty of USB ports for all other accessories. Gives around 30 to 50 FPS for each monitor. Would not recommend for Games.

An essential peripheral for your Surface Pro

For whatever reason, I've put off buying a docking station for them until now, likely because I never really saw the Surface Pro as a desktop replacement, only our "travel computers." This time around I took the plunge and man, I really wish I'd have given this thing a shot years ago. The Surface Dock really unlocks the potential of a higher-end (I'm using a Core i7 model) Surface Pro. Connected to dual 4K monitors, an external keyboard and mouse, my Surface Pro 6 now fully replaces my desktop for everything short of playing the latest games - and I think we're all smart enough to realize the SP6 was never intended to be a gaming machine anyway, right? I literally got it out of the box and plugged-in and running flawlessly within 5 minutes. Docking and undocking is a breeze - instant switching to wi-fi from ethernet, etc. I could not be happier and couldn't possibly recommend it more.

I have the surface dock connected to two Dell 24" IPS monitors. I also have Ethernet and my computer speakers connected to the dock. I have had no problems with the dock nor any components not working when connected to it. I love the ability to have a laptop at work and then come home and connect one single plug to immediately have a multiple monitor home workstation. I highly recommend the surface dock.
