Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Surface Dock's ease of use, abundant USB ports, and ability to support multiple monitors. Many appreciate its compact size and compatibility with Surface devices, while also finding the improved connectivity and charging capabilities beneficial. However, some customers find the price to be high and the weight a bit cumbersome. A shorter-than-ideal cable length was also a recurring point of feedback.

Better than the last dock but not perfect

For the most part this dock is really nice and convenient but for some reason you can not connect any Mini display to DVI through it. You have to use VGA or HDMI. Not sure why I just had to go and buy new VGA adapters and cables b/c my old set up used DVI and my screens don't have HDMI, as most computer screens dont.

Hello, I purchased this unit to use my Surface Pro 4 in the office with dual monitors. It took a while and some driver updates to get it working properly. Now that it's up, it's a good solution for using the Surface as a desktop computer. I was surprised that there was no HDMI output on the dock.

I use it daily for my SB2 and it’s great for the most part. But occasionally it will flicker a black screen on and off forcing me to wait it out or disconnect the power. I tried all the troubleshooting nothing seems to fix it. Even after updating it it still happens.

I have a set-up with the surface pro-screen front and center with two 24" monitors on a dual mount above it and it is fantastic. You set the surface pro down and plug in a single cable and the magic starts. This is what a workstation is actually about.

It was no problem to install and operate. It provides 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x display (monitor) ports, one audio port, and a Ethernet port, as well as powering the surface. This allows me to plug in my wireless mouse dongle and a DVD reader. I like it.

The dock is super useful but I find my Surface has issues with it being connected to multiple displays. After it wakes from sleep mode, the display ports must be disconnected and reconnected to function correctly. It isn't a huge deal, but it is a minor inconvenience considering the price.

I use it with my Surface Pro and all the peripherals that I use with it at my office, But, when I need to be mobile with the Surface Pro the docking station makes it easy and quick to disconnect peripherals and then reconnect when I return to the office.

I purchased this so I could use my Surface Pro at home as a desk PC. Now I come home pull the Surface out of my bag and have multiple monitors, NAS, printer, keyboard and mouse with one single cable plugged in. Works great, highly recommend!

This dock does just what I wanted. The only challenge is auto switching of sound from my Surface Pro 4 speakers to the speakers connected to the dock. I have to manually set it. Other than that, love it.

This is the most useful microsoft surface accessory I've ever used! If it wasn't so pricy I would buy two! But if you hate having multiple adapters to switch out all the time and not enough USB ports this is the way to gooo! Best for home setup/office!!!!!

The only thing i would fix with this dock is where the cable to connect to the surface is located. it is on the opposite side of where you plug in to the Surface. The cable has to cross over the Surface and plug in to the opposite side. Other then that one design flaw the dock works great.

Worked as expected. No complaints. Only change I would like to see is minor with the power cord placement. The back would have been a better spot for desk placement to hide cords. We use it flipped upside down due to cord location .

For my use of the SP4, it was a natural purchase. The device is very heavy, but once I integrated it with my larger monitor and other devices, the unit's mass proven to be necessary with all of the pulling of the cables. ISB 3.0 are fast. Well laid out. A little pricy.

This is a great product for giving you one connection ("docking") for your surface pro. My only caveat is that I'm using it with my Surface Pro 2017 and the displays won't save settings when I dock it. Sometimes it extends, sometimes it duplicates. Fix that, and you've got five stars.

If you need to hard link your surface, which I do (did) and need extra ports then this is probably the best thing for that. Though its very expensive and sometimes won't register the ethernet cable until you unplug the box from the power source and plug back in.

Bought a surface Pro 4 and needed a way to use a larger screen and keyboard when in the office. The surface pro dock does the trick. I leave what I want to use when I am in the office attached to the dock and just connect my Surface pro and I am good to go,

If you work with additional monitors this is a must have. I run two 32 inch monitors along with my surface for a total of 3 monitors. It's boosted my productivity in my home office a ton. Although, it only has 3 usb ports that's easily remedied with a port hub. Please note that this is not conducive for travel as there is a second power block not shown in the picture and it has no hdmi ports.
